Nobody will ever come close to the magic Neil showed us at Subiaco Oval in Perth Western Australia some years ago where he sang so many songs he normally does not perform. And I think this gem was one of them. A magical performer that leaves his fans spellbound with every song. Tragic that one that one that has given so much for so many years is now forced to retire from what he loves the most. God bless Neil and I feel so blessed to have grown up in this era of real music from a master of words and music.

I was only 7 years old when this song came out on the Moods album but I remember it. Later, I would play it on my dad's Realistic stereo when I was alone. I didn't hear it for many years and when I recently heard it again it felt like I was back in that time for a moment. I was lucky that my father liked Neil Diamond and I grew up with his albums in our home. After all these years and everything I have been through I can now say that Neil Diamond is my all time favorite singer, songwriter.

Also known as 'God's gift to the World' - ND was his second!! I hope that (my) observation doesn't offend anyone, and if so. I apologize. We went to Neil's concert in San Jose last night. I hoped he might sing this song as it is one of my favorites. He didn't, and that was about the only disappointment. He was wonderful! What a great singer, performer, and song writer! I remember arguing with my buddy, Mike Digini, back in (1968) about Neil Diamond. He said that ND was merely a "bubblegum" singer and I told him that ND would be around long after all of his favorites, such as “Moby Grape” were forgotten. Guess who was right?

I am a big ND fan from back in the 60s. I am embarrassed to say I just listened to the live version of this song from "The Essential ND" cd a couple of days ago.I didn't even know about it. I heard this song while driving and so relaxed me that I didn't realize I was driving below the speed limit. Beautiful song.
