There were 2 things you needed to be cool in my hick town, know every word to Eddie Murphys Delrious stand up and it was already like 15 years old and every word to the boyz in the hood. In the last 16 years I don't even listen to rap anymore because it's not what I remember true rap to be. KENDRICK to me is by far the best rapper of this generation!!! Bone was probably the most popular and this was before crossroads came out and everyone got on it. We got so deep we were listening to BONE ENTERPRISE as like 12 years Olds. To this day the vast majority of rap fans still don't know that Bone thugs was originally Bone ENTERPRISE. It was s ome weird glitch in the universe. As someone who has never been to the west coast, it seems like such a celebration. I’m an East Coast girl but I feel like this still makes it possible to join in with the party!
I'm a white guy who really didn't listen to hip-hop until this beef started. I've been deep diving into Kendricks records and other artists, and I have grown a massive appreciation for the culture. Seeing Kendrick take what could have been a mere beef and elevate it to an anthem of unity is a beautiful thing.

The Grammys never reward rap artist for the big awards but he will win every rap award this year everywhere. He may be nominated for song of the year and record of the year but they will give it to a white artist in the end like they do every year. DO not forget they awarded Macklamore over Kendrick the same year Kendrick won a Pulitzer Prize
I haven't been into hiphop since early 2k. Only started caring again when the Glorb stuff started coming and that's how I found you, Jean. Got lots of love for your content, keep it up.
I feel like his very chill demeanor in this video was deliberate. He is saying this is not about him. He gave the spotlight to the people. This is about the people. Love it.
Yo it’s crazy you mention the yugioh cards because I was at a big ass tournament in the Bay Area and the song Not Like Us had dropped and you know I was playing that shit off my phone in the venue. So random player heard it and started giggin with me and in the middle of it I asked him “where are you from?” “Compton” “Oh shit! Im from LBC!” Happiest yugioh moment of my life.
I’ve watched so many reactions to this video and I have to say yours is my favorite. I love that you got the goosebumps, I love that you said it’s for the culture and that you gave Drake credit for making Kendrick come out of his rut and create this masterpiece. Well done sir!
The craziest part is they’re saying and he’s only done 2 things a pop out concert with several artists from the West Coast and made a video. No posts, no memes, no interviews… nothing else 😂. Someone on another video said he stops at 17 because that’s Drakes style and 18 is too much 😂
Saw that comment & lost it😂😂😂@@victoriathompson-curtis528
@bajsunshine im a bricklayer ..the spaces in a block are called cells
He only did 17
“I’m a Drake fan. All respect to you.”
*Whitney dancing*
“Nah - you dead.”
Did a 180 real quick 😂
Favorite parts: intro 🎵, Whitney dancing w/ family, talented dancers given a platform, every time you see Kendrick smiling and having fun, and watching the JOY and UNITY of the community as the culture is HONORED!
Also the owl references: piñata and caged at the end.
As someone who has never been to the west coast, it seems like such a celebration. I’m an East Coast girl but I feel like this still makes it possible to join in with the party!
Everyone is CELEBRATING and what an amazing ANTHEM.
That snippet at the beginning..i need that to drop too lol
Facts 🎉
Queen Whitney she’s from Compton ! 🎉🎉🎉
Whitney got the best Drake diss ngl
This is the best reaction I've seen you do in a minute scru, good insight into the culture. Much love bro
Kendrick dropped on the 4th of July just to steal another Grammy for Best Music Video😭😭
Grammy commitee bunch of old ppl they are not gonna rate this track
I'm a white guy who really didn't listen to hip-hop until this beef started. I've been deep diving into Kendricks records and other artists, and I have grown a massive appreciation for the culture. Seeing Kendrick take what could have been a mere beef and elevate it to an anthem of unity is a beautiful thing.
Well said. Definitely should have a ton of likes❤❤
Welcome to hip hop 🫶🏽
Welcome to hip hop. Always listen to the lyrics. The poetry have many levels to it.
Also check this guy The Dirt for more explanations if you don't understand everything
Same!!!
Scru, you had me cracking up this entire video 😂🤣 Keep doing yo thang, brodie
that intro got us on pins and needles!!! Drop that shit immediately !!! It would be like the elephant crashes the funeral
Kendricks kids look just like him and they are so adorable!
The little girl has his whole face!
The little boy has his ears. They're adorable
They are….Those babies are his twins. They’re beautiful. He gave that little girl his whole entire face.
And Drake try to say they are Dave Free kids, ridiculous
His adorable kids dancing to his song at the end is the absolute best🥰🥰🥰
This was the best reaction; I'm subscribing right now. You the only person that caught the boogeyman part, Drake really thought he had this rapped up and Kung Fu Kenny hit him with the force! Thank you for this, K Dot really bodied on this vid and yeah, I hate it ended too lol
The hopscotch during the A-minor bar AND sis dancing on a tightrope. 🤣
I ain’t gonna lie…. When Kendrick, Whitney and the kids were dancing, that was a beautiful moment and solidified drakes L for me.
Best reaction hands down! Good job 👍🏽
Always love your reviews! You actually of the culture and know hip hop, Keep it up!
Whitney hit that shi, And she maddd pretty too😭🔥
Good Whit, Mad Pretty
Scru Face Jean - your energy is electric! You make me smile everytime you talk about this!
That snippet on the intro will tuck the ovoes in 😂😂😂
Incoming awards
*Song of the year
*Best rap song
*Music video of the year
Don’t forget BEST RAP PERFORMANCE
@@karlamunganaaaa yeap ,thought about writing it but was not sure where it falls under , that's correct
Probably will have the best album of the yr soon
Faaaacts!!!
My nigga started hop scotching on the A-minor bar LOL DIABOLICAL!!!!
So random player heard it and started giggin with me and in the middle of it I asked him “where are you from?”
“Compton”
“Oh shit! Im from LBC!”
Happiest yugioh moment of my life.
That was MEEEEE brodie
Omg even at yugioh tournaments 😭
Oh shit, we need your side of the story now
THE WAY HE FLIPPED WHEN THEY WERE BOTH DANCING LMFAO
I’ve watched so many reactions to this video and I have to say yours is my favorite. I love that you got the goosebumps, I love that you said it’s for the culture and that you gave Drake credit for making Kendrick come out of his rut and create this masterpiece. Well done sir!
Amazing reaction! This is what we love Scru!
It’s funny seeing people saying he’s milking this yet Drake was cooking meek for a whole year and people ain’t say Nothing at all
boa!
The craziest part is they’re saying and he’s only done 2 things a pop out concert with several artists from the West Coast and made a video. No posts, no memes, no interviews… nothing else 😂. That’s how we all know he won. He didn’t have to do shit. We the people are pushing it for him as we should ❤
