I'm a father. What Gilbert said is one of the single dumbest things I have ever heard. Lebron putting Bronny in this situation when he is so obviously not good enough is not doing best for your kid. It is being blinded by your ego to the point his son is now going to be remembered as a punchline in the NBA. Kobe! on a make. Bronny! on an airball.

Asian here. I see it as a difference in culture. My father gave me all the help he can give, but never did he make the path for it. This is one I always remember. During the Pandemic he never asked me to get a job, but I did try so I can help. I passed it miraculously but my Laptop was not up to task, I was gonna give up but he asked me "what do you need? How much is it?" He gave me the money and started helping out again, I payed him back even though he never asked for it. That is one lesson I will never forget, let my children walk their path, I will help out but not to the extent that I will decide when and how, it is their life at the end of the day.

Yep, any father who watched the NBA and seen a player literally drop die on the court from heart failure/heart attack (Reggie Lewis, comes to mind!) would have been more inclined to just say basketball is out of the question. Because it makes LeBron James look like a really selfish man and a bad parent. His wife as well for rushing this. God forbid we see a repeat of that. Then LeBron, Klutch, and media members like Chris Broussard, Nick Wright, Shannon Sharpe, Stephen A will shift the blame onto medical staff to defend LeBron James. If they want to act like they've never seen someone collapse while playing, we all remember the NFL player Mr.Hamlin who collapsed of cardiac arrest and almost died on television! Like I've said from the start, Bronny James isn't ready, took a spot he isn't qualified for from someone, and didn't have the maturity to tell his parents, "I need to stay in school and improve. I'm getting NIL money anyway, why rush me? To embarrass me? I'm not doing it." That is what a man like Bronny is supposed do. I wouldnt put my son in a position that he's clearly not qualified for just because he's my son. What does that teach him? I'm a father of four I made my kids earn everything they ever got and because I did it the right way they're even more successful than i am as adults. My family has owned their own company for over 40 years I could have given all my children a job but they would have had to start like I did at the bottom and earned everything plus i would hold them to a higher standard than the rest of our employees because I would expect my children to set an example. I am glad my father financed me my entire life but I puposefully applied for my internships during studies myself and when I once asked if there was a certain internship he could help me with he honestly told me "you are not ready yet to do this, I could help you but it would be best for you to earn this yourself" to me was a great motivator. Being honest with your kid is just as much of a parent's job as it is helping your kid along the way and most crucially there is a point where you help your kid too much and it becomes entirely dependant on you helping it all the time. No parent wants that for thei kid and yet LeBron is forcing this lifestyle on Bronny and we are supposed to celebrate it.

Only a neophyte would question lebron as a father. The man has two teenagers and a 3rd grader. I think hes doing a good job. We're talking about the irresponsible comments he made about his son 16 months ago that are egregiously backfiring because his son, whos a good kid, isnt ready to be in the league.
