In tonight’s episode of The Shooting Show, Mark Ripley takes us out on another foxing mission armed with his trusty .223 topped with the latest in thermal technology - the Pulsar Thermion 2 XP50 Pro riflescope from Thomas Jacks Ltd. Using his Pulsar Accolade 2 LRF XP50 Pro binoculars, also from Thomas Jacks Ltd, Mark soon finds a fox or two out on the freshly cut fields and puts the thermal pairing to the test.
Then Tom Payne takes on pigeons over an early winter barley stubble. With aims to protect standing wheat crops, and the weather drawing in, can he fill his bag before the rain hits.

10:49 Lesson ... never stop and look when someone yells 'Hey' when you're walking across a field. Just carrying on walking.

Really enjoyed the pigeon shooting section. Great to see a fresh approach and practical ideas applied to good effect.

Mark 223 Ripley... Just doesn't have the same appeal as 260 but he is just as good with either.

So you've got accolade 2 binoculars, thermion xp50 lrf, but u go pick up the vixen and use binoculars to look where u shot from, to tell us the distance. Very strange.

I do that as well! Sometimes it’s easier to see the truck from the fox.

I used the accolade thermal binos to range find the distance with their built in laser range finder 👍

It’s great watching all this thermal gear, bout the majority of pest controllers haven’t got a hope in hell of affording the gear your promoting, unless they go into debt for a 4k scope and 2k decent monocular the prices are crazy and yes you can get cheap thermal gear, monoculars at £400 scopes at £1500 but their crap may as well stick to decent night vision gear.

@@buckrussel3808 its great getting a reply thanks Russel. I don’t judge folk. I learnt from an old countryman the way of pest control and conservation and land management, and he didn’t have a pot to pee in bless him, worked the land all his life passed on now greatly missed. I have a oo8s lrf great bit of kit, ive been looking for a thermal monocular that will give me visual recognition but i wont go into debt for it. I was at the British shooting show this year looking at the thermal stands and there is some amazing thermal gear out there. And people were buying on the never never. Maybe just maybe prices will become more reasonable as time goes on.

I’ve got both scope and spotter from pulsar. I had a night out recently and the chance to use some HIK gear. In my opinion it was better than my pulsar and about the third of the price. I will be changing over soon as.

@@buckrussel3808 I’ve got Helion XP 50 on the truck and I’m on my second XP50 trail, the first one would not hold a zero but fingers crossed this trail2 LRF has been ok. I can understand why guys who are sponsored by them sing the praises but the ordinary working bloke is investing a lot of hard earned here and deserves to know what’s what, warts an all!
