Went over and read the court docs. I believe they really messed up this time. They dismissed their own lawsuit without the defendant filing any with the court. Thats not good for them if mkc decides to pursue a suit to recoup fees (which i think they already did). Now its public. I now remember why I never bought a bench made. Never felt right about their company helping police destroy the gu* years ago. My experience with lawsuits is even if you're right, no one ever wins except the attorneys. Unless A LOT of money is lost better just cut your losses. Lawyers are $700+hr, they work slow, and several YEARS later you'll have a piece of paper that legally says you're right.

I think I'm done with Benchmade for good now. I really wanted to get the new Freek versions. But I think I just gonna sell all my Benchmade knives, even my early 1990s & 2000s and limited editions. It took them almost 30 YEARS to improve on the AXIS lock, and everything they did was go from round springs to Flat wire springs. Their Prices are OUTRAGEOUS, and are not for the Working class anymore. Spyderco will get my money instead.

You might be talking about a non-compete clause in an employment contract/agreement. An NDA is another thing altogether, it is for specific IP.
I like my bailout M4 but it seems like they screwed up, then got some credibility back, then they screw up again.
I'll enjoy my bailout but I don't think i'll be recommending the brand to anyone or buy from them again in the future.

Benchmade Skirmish 630 is one of my grail folders. I have and never had many Benchmade knives, I currently own 4. The last knife I bought from Benchmade is the Adamas 375-1, the fixed blade version in CruWear. The knife is great but the plastic sheath is not so good. With a custom kydex sheath and handle scales from tpgrips, the Adamas 375-1 is really great. There are so many good knife manufacturers today, China in particular is getting better and better. I personally don't need Benchmade. Greetings from germany.

Cheers! Eventually, a floating model would be interesting to me because I do fishing. Prices are an unfavorable factor in Europe. I rarely see their models in use, they are mostly collector's items. I think this is wrong, because after all, these are mass-produced examples that, apart from the lining, do not differ from their brothers. The quality of the blade blah blah and in the end it's just an exhibition specimen that is either in a box or on a shelf. Why the best blade when everyone is looking at the cover. Most people brag about expensive knives, and if they didn't cut themselves with them while cleaning them, many didn't cut anything other than paper. I am a supporter of cheaper and usable Opinel, Ganzo or fixed Mora knives. For many, quality is declining, and design stands out as a more important factor than usability.

Benchmade is shitting the patent expiration on the axis lock. That has been their edge for the last few years, now they are swimming in the deep end.
I was pretty bummed when I found out. Pretty much the last nail in the coffin for me and buying benchmades. I’ve been a huge fan of MKC for over a year now, and I think I’ll stick with them all the way. Jared if you ever want to check out an MKC, I have most of their models. They are great users IMO.

Benchmade has been on a long slow slide. The company and the knife designs are not what they used to be. The prices are out of control on the Blue and Black classes not to mention the ridiculous gold class garbage.

I understand your point about having something big to protect but it doesn't actually matter, it's their IP so it's their right to protect it against someone breaking contract and trying sell it or otherwise release it. But a case against the other company seems pretty baseless
Benchmade is so extremely overpriced it’s laughable. I asked the question in the forums on another channel, “who is happy to pay $500 for a Benchmade?” There was actually a couple of Benchmade people who replied saying it was American quality with classic designs and they didn’t think they were overpriced. I was a bit surprised to be honest but to each their own. I have one Benchmade I purchased years ago but I won’t spend anymore $ on Benchmade.
Btw, regarding your pc… create a boot disc from the manufacturers downloads site. When the pc boots hit f12 or f10 or whatever gets you to the boot menu. Boot from the disc you created and run repair on drive. If that doesn’t work pull the hard drive and slave to another machine. Run repair on drive. If drive comes up ok after repair but doesn’t work when reinstalled it may be either the board or the hdd controller. Good luck.
Brother, I tried to watch that giveaway video you had and no matter what I did. It wouldn’t let me watch it. Every time I started to watch it it told me how many minutes it was in progress, but it never would let me watch it. I don’t just watch your videos for giveaways, of course But it was really strange that I couldn’t watch that video. On another note, I would just buy a new computer and get rid of those headaches and money problems even though you would incur a little more cost, but an updated computer would take away some of those headaches. . I don’t really care for bench made knives. I have owned a few, including the bench made infidel, and it was subpar compared to other makers. The only one I like that I owned is the super freak.
Benchmade knives have always been overpriced. Now they are just outrageous and my opinion the knives have always been dainty and really only suited for opening little Amazon boxes They should be ashamed of themselves.

The cutting up guns thing tho is ridiculous even if you’re super into guns, a company helping cut up broken confiscated modified guns that may have been used in crimes or whatever that were going to be destroyed anyway doesn’t have any hint to do with their position on gun possession or gun control.
The local police department used Benchmade’s facilities to destroy confiscated guns then plastered it all over social media.
It’s not like Benchmade was trying to remove legal guns off the street or was bragging about cutting up guns.

Im only seven minutes in so far, but if the employee signed and agreed to a contract that states he can't work for another knife company, then benchmade has every right to sue him. He broke the contract, and if you had an employee break a contract you had, you wouldn't like it either. The employee should not have signed it. That being said, benchmade is absolutely crazy. I happened to stumble across a video of benchmade bushcrafter and thought it was cool, but when i looked at their website, they wanted 430 dollars for a basic knife. Also, I would like to state that the owner of mkc seems like he doesn't know much. I literally watched a video where he was tellimg people they should sharpen to a working edge with a burr and leave the burr bc the burr acts like a saw that allows you to cut even when the knife is dull, among abunch of other completely crazy blade stuff that was just false.

I’m from Oregon, never bought Benchmade , but non compete clauses in contracts hold up in court for reasons of simply working for a competitor all the way up to providing competitive companies multi million dollar knife designs and tech that the employee was privileged to prior to their departure
