I agree. Those rescuers ARE heroes. I've been vegan for over 35 years. In that time, I've come to realize that most humans are selfish and cruel and couldn't care less about animals. Even the humans who claim to be so-called "animal lovers".
Most people claim to be against animal cruelty, yet their everyday actions don't reflect their claim. If you care about animals, then walk your talk and be vegan. The only thing you'll regret is that you didn't do it sooner.

@mackdantelle That's an ignorant comment. Have you seen Wikipedia's page titled "Adolph Hitler and Vegetarianism"? Hitler was no vegan. There are numerous personal accounts and speculations given about why Hitler gave up many "meat" products. A belief in vegan values was not one of them.
In my 35+ years of being vegan, I've seen much ignorance about what authentic veganism is and is not. Your comment is yet another example of that ignorance.
The word "vegan" was coined by members of the Vegan Society (UK) in the late 1940s and was heavily influenced by Albert Schweitzer's writings on Reverence for Life. The definition still stands today and is as follows:
"Veganism is a way of living which excludes all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, the animal kingdom, and includes a reverence and compassion for all life. It applies to the practice of living on the products of the plant kingdom to the exclusion of flesh, fish, fowl, eggs, honey, animal milk and its derivatives, and encourages the use of alternatives for all commodities derived wholly or in part from animals.
Veganism remembers man's responsibilities to the earth and its resources and seeks to bring about a healthy soil and plant kingdom and a proper use of the materials of the earth".
I love animals, and it's nice to find kind people in this world who love them too.😘👍

I saw the whole video of that shark "attacking" the tortoise. The shark actually saved it by bringing it to the boaters because the poor tortoise had string gouging it's neck.

The crazy thing to me is that in many cases these animals get in these situations because of humans in the first place.

How does a whale shark get beached on a dock??? I think someone caught it in there trolling net and brought it to port to avoid cutting a net possibly leaving poor shark for dead in the ocean along with a net to cause more havoc!!!
