Bought a home here just behind the former Good Samaritan Hospital on Salem. I’m a transplant from L.A. This city has grown on me. I didn’t know what I was really getting myself into moving to Ohio. So good to see they are doing cool things to the city! Don’t regret my move one bit. My house is located in a gorgeous tree-lined neighborhood with beautiful homes. I do fly home to L.A. every quarter so I do have the benefits of Ohio and California.

Kettering is a good place . It’s close to shopping & dinning ect . I Reside in Beavercreek. What you stated about Beavercreek is true . I’m not far from the Beavercreek high school. I’m kinda sandwiched between Soin medical center & Greene memorial medical center . & I work over at Wright Patterson AFB . I’ve been there since the late eighties & still there today! It only takes Me about 10 Minutes to get there. I’m not from the Mall at Fairfield commons. & just a stones throw to the Greenes . My uncle worked at Wright State University in purchasing department. My cousin works at Kettering health as a Labor & delivery RN & also a professor at the Kettering medical college! Your a 💯% right Premier health is huge here ! In fact My primary care Doctor is affiliated with Premier health . Last July Premier health added a ER room where her office is in beavercreek. I’d Say we. Fortunate to have two of best Hospitals in the area . This entire area was once a General Motors town ! My grandpa worked for Frigidaire & My Uncle worked at Delco.Air & My other uncle worked at Delco products in Kettering. My parents where born & raised in the area both where from Kettering. & went to Fairmont & graduated from there .Me & My brother graduated from Beavercreek . My aunt use to be a teacher at Fairbrook elementary. Yrs ago .then decided to get her masters degree & went to work over at Wright Patterson AFB . She. Work out there from 1979 -2012 . My uncle also worked at the base over in area B . I’m still working over there. One thing I took notice about the base . IT’s location! It’s not far from Huber Heights & new Carlisle.Fairborn of course Beavercreek. I’m not farfrom Xenia . . When I first born My Foks had pizza house in Huber Heights & we lived up. There . Speaking of Restaurants The Melody Restaurant in New. Carlisle! You talk about good places to eat . I’ve gotten food from there tons of times! One Of My Former neighbors use to work for Esther Price! The Dayton staples are Esther prices candy & Joes Pizzeria & Marion’s pizza & Cassano,s pizza! & Rikes department store ! Frigidaire use to be here. The Refrigerators use to built down in Moraine . The plant was converted over to start building the Chevy S10 trucks it was called the Truck & bus group GM . Winters bank use to be here & third National bank . Dayton has a history & a lot of innovations Charles F Kettering developed improved lighting & ignition systems as well as the electric starter . Also NCR & Huffy & Mead was headquartered here in Dayton. Dayton is home to Aviation as well too ! His name is on Kettering health on the main campus. It’ says Charles F Kettering Memorial Hospital. When & if you get the chance to drive by the main campus you’ll see it ! Some of My cousins reside in Huber Heights. One of aunts resides in Kettering & the other one resides in Bellbrook. I’d. Say both Beavercreek & Kettering & Centerville & Oakwood has some good school districts. Those areas are low crime areas . But there’s high property taxes. The reason behind it it’s due to good schools & good police departments. Any of these areas are affordable & offers a great place to. Start & raise a family & has good universities like Wright State & Sinclair community college! One of friends use to be a professor at Sinclair. I forgot to mention the upper crust restaurant & the Barnsider restaurant. Speaking of that restaurant the owner had the Wellington Grille restaurant in beavercreek I live right around there. The owner has closed it & it’s now a scratch pizza place. There’s no shortage of good restaurants in Beavercreek! & lots. Of Lodging in My area . Wright Patt credit union is one of the largest credit unions in the area . There main office is headquartered in Beavercreek right across from Soin medical center. One of my former co workers wife use to work for Wright patt Cu . She to train tellers .oh I forgot to mention Mike Sells potato chips was headquartered here .

Dude you talking about everywhere except actual Dayton, OH. You should change it to , Suburbs of Montgomery County. The only thing you say about my city is Downtown Dayton.

Thanks for watching Jelani Jackson! lol, I appreciate the comments. I'm a Realtor and I prior military guy, so when people say they are moving to "Dayton" they aren't just talking about downtown dayton, thus why I created the channel like it is. As much as I appreciate you locals jumping in and giving your input on my mis pronunciations of towns, and corrections on small nuances, it's mainly intended for people and families looking to relocate here from another areas. From an outsiders prospective mainly.

My family moved out in 1971 when I just turned 14 and I don’t miss it one bit. My former neighborhood moved out too back in the 70’s. It turned into a drug ghetto and dump. Dayton once had a population of 250k and it’s down to 140k. I do miss the fine food, the Arts and museums. The City is now a shell of its former glory days. The homes through out the City has no landscape, flowers or trees, adding the the dreary of its miserable existence.
