This was great! Have you heard Kathleen Battle sing it?
Ani Vardanyan Victoria de Los Angeles, beautiful!!! If they had the technology back then and captured her (Victoria) true dynamics that may have won my heart! :) none the less it was beautiful enough to sweep me of my feet. Thank you for pointing her to me.
Yes, Irwin, her timbre is incredibly beautiful! I'm so happy you liked her. Good art must be spread and appreciated!!

My eyes got watery all of a sudden...Such beauty cannot be described with words.
There's a reason why she was and always will be the greatest opera singer of our time. You take a sad song and put it into her hands and it will make your heart shatter in tears.
"Our time" includes Maria Callas?
@@renzocavani6524 well, if we are talking pure opera singing prowess, yes. Yet, I still like to remember Montserrat as the person who, thanks to Freddie Mercury (in my opinion, I felt that way), had this marvellous chance not only to be free to express herself far away from the rigidity that is Opera but also to introduce this form of singing to generations far beyond the times where anything but opera/classical music was considered 2nd class art at best. And let's be honest, Montserrat's quirky being would let any sane man fall in love, she was just that adorable.
I agree, but only if you also mention the great Maria Callas. She’s up there to. Not bg sheer voice control, but by sending everything with shivering and heartbreaking emotion... love those two woman

Beautiful❤
Puccini is magical ❤
I'm usually not a fan of opera but oh wow, I could listen to her voice all day. What a beautiful voice she had.
Exactly this!!
I couldn't even understand a single word, but this song still made me cry.
Becouse Great Diva did a lot of mistakes . Only professional singers , pianists ect can hear them .

The best O Mio Babbino on the Internet. I've listened to thousands of "prodigies" on Got Talent shows and professionals but Montserrat makes it personal beyond a great voice.
Those high notes, so effortless and pure, like sunlight on the dawn of a spring morning.
Perfect
Bendita la tecnologia del siglo XXI que nos permite escuchar esto.
Bill EXACTO porque la música de hoy en dia es solo basura comparado con esos años.

In my opinion Caballe is one of the greatest sopranos that ever graced this earth
absolutely agree!
Cosmic86x if I could choose three whom are the greatest, I go with Ms Cabelle, Ms. Bartoli, Ms. Freni
Andros Skywalker
very good selections :-)
Cosmic86x In your opinion, whose voice do you prefer, Callas or Bartoli? That third spot was difficult to decide on
Andros Skywalker
I would actually choose Caballé as my favourite. But Callas and Bartoli are very close at rank 2 and 3
The worlds best soprano!
Respect from China to great master 🎉🎉🎉
its insane how her voice is like instrument.. flawless in many ways..

How can you not listen to this and just cry? Her control is stunning, especially in those higher moments. While most would portamento, her high notes seem to just float out of nowhere. Her connection with the text here is so stupendous. A legend.
