Welcome to “Gears and Gadgets”! From humble beginnings to pursuing my passions for trucks, motorcycles, and technology, this journey has been all about sharing what I love with all of you.
I appreciate that but as a consumer of CZcams, I appreciate when other CZcamsrs share a little context as to what makes them who they are. I just wanted to open up about where I come from because honestly, when I see “oh must be nice” comments, I feel it. Not because I’m a fraud, or because it takes away any of my hustle, but because I used to think the same thing when I saw others in my neighborhood with nice things. It’s not always “haters” coming from a negative place, sometimes it’s just people who are upset that they haven’t found their own roadmap out yet.
@@GearsGadgets true, but most of it comes from envy if you kinda relate to it. I found myself in that situation as well from time to time. You found a way to make it work and side hustle and people don’t understand the “grind” to make life “nice” but then do they really know how “nice” it is?
@@cartoonathalo that is incredibly accurate insight. It’s easy to see someone with something nice and be jealous without crediting the effort that went into obtaining it and the hustle that goes into maintaining keeping it. As I said, it could all be gone tomorrow and that’s okay as well.
Started off watching your channel because we had the same bike, the Heritage. But stayed with you because of your varied content. Your presentation is easy to understand and makes me think beyond my safety zone. Review what you want and interest you! And keep that honesty that always comes through.
You do you and let the haters hate. You put in the effort and hard work, so you deserve the fruits of your labor. They can always not watch or unsuscribe. God bless everyone 🙏.
Dan, love this conversation, and you are a great example for other content creators. Sometimes it feels like a job which then ruins your passion as you stated. Been wanting to pivot a little for a long time and guess I just need to quit talking about it and do it. Hope you and the family are well and I am sure you did not miss that Buffalo winter weather.
Hi Dan, I subscribed because of your motorcycle content. But I also enjoy your truck content. Now i watch all your videos! Just don't get burnt out. I've followed others that either slow down,.. or stop completely. Keep up the great videos! Regards, Lindsay
I've always appreciated you're honesty in your video, which one of the biggest reasons I've stayed around to watch. I don't always like some of the content, but I still watch because I might see or hear something that I can use in my life. I started watching because of the Harley content and because you're "just up the road" from me. Over the years I've been impressed with how you've evaluated products and present the good and bad of them. I think it's great that as your channel has grown you've managed to either get access it better items to present on your channel or be able to afford to purchase them yourself. Work is work and to be able to get those nice things you have to work at it, especially when you're not born into stacks of cash! I learned so many years ago to be happy for other people when they are able to achieve a goal in their life, be it a new car, bike, house etc. Most people work very hard to achieving their goals, so when I read comments on anyone's YT channel of "it must be nice" I think to myself if that's how you feel then you aren't happy in your life and need to figure out why! Keep posting and I'll keep watching!
Love this video - thank you for sharing your story! And your content is outstanding and professional. Thank you for the knowledge!! Keep up the great work!! 🙏💪
There’s always going to be haters man. I’ve real ways enjoyed your videos, they’re different than the ones I regularly subscribe to. Not only does it stir a wonder for things outside my normal thinking, they’re also entertaining. Keep it up brudda.
Great story - love that you just are straight up. Relateable - appreciate your content. Especially as I have a 2022 Powerboost that makes me a little nuts sometimes. And motorbikes. Basically a Canadian guy who is into the gear and gadgets!
Hmm, I never thought to be jealous of you for buying new trucks, side-by-sides, motorcycles, whatever... I just figured you have a well-paying job. Who knew you came from humble beginnings? I squandered my family's fortune on GoPros so I could record all the angles for my rinky-dink videos. Now I'm re-thinking my life choices. Well, I'm off to record another silly video - have a great day, and give the haters more to hate! You living in their heads rent-free is a solid living situation :D
I started watching your content because we had the same truck (2021 F150) and I wanted watch some cool stuff that I might one day do to my truck. I’ve stayed with this channel because despite the content it’s obvious you’re being honest and genuine and really just sharing your passions with the viewers. It’s clear you just enjoy what you’re doing and not on a mission to drive people to products or promotions in some form of self interest. Your content is a welcome relief from so much other garbage on the platform these days. Keep up the great work Dan!
Loving the Cleetus shirt Dan!! Thanks so much for your hardwork on all the videos. Not sure if you've mentioned it yet, but is there a first mod coming for the truck yet?!
Thanks, big Cleetus fan and I appreciate the kind words. I do have some things in the works for the truck. As of right now just did the basics of getting my radar detector and dash cam transferred in and wired up. I did also add the Auto Start Stop disabler which is awesome, working on some videos and have more stuff coming.
@@GearsGadgets if you’ve never changed the oil on an Indian touring bike you’ll love it compared to a Harley. Indian has one plug, one fluid instead of the Harley 3-hole 3 fluids. And the Indian oil filter is located in an easy to reach place that doesn’t drain all over the bike when you remove it.
Bro, just because you hustle, doesn’t mean you have to explain to everyone. Remember if you got haters, you are doing something right…

If you're successful, why should any one care. Good for you! Hell, I wish I could do some of the things you do. Some people are just selfish.😁
Thanks I appreciate that, I am lucky I get to do some of the things that come my way because of this channel.
have you changed the oil on the Indian?
@@indianbill3123 not yet. It’s been 110-115 here so there hasn’t been a ton of wrenching time in the garage.

Today Fisker is gone.
Are lives have parallels very much being raised in a single parent family. Don’t have to explain anything.
I really appreciate that.
