The Rivers & Ruins of Gerês: Portugal's Secret Beauty (VanLife Paradise)

- Way up North in Portugal, at the Spanish border, lies a national park filled with wonders. Gerês has it all: beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers, waterfalls and everything that we love.
While exploring the area, we encountered yet another abandoned village: the Vilarinho das Furnas, which was half submerged in the water after a dam was build at the lake.
After following the river by foot and raft, we ended the trip at the ruins of a Roman bathhouse, aside from a gorgeous lake in Spain.

Just a curiosity for you my friend in 8:17 when you cross the border that´s a narrow pass Portela do Homem (Gate of Man) there happened a great battle against spanish invaders, they got ambushed there by portuguese civilians and they ran back across the pass while getting hit by rocks, arrows and javelins :D
I found this place in the 80's. Vilarinho das Furnas was some how part of my youth adventures. Remenber to swim through doors and windows, riding a bike, running savage horses everywhere... It's a magic place indeed. Some last videos from this village czcams.com/video/PrBbdmUDulg/video.html

Nice to hear you enjoyed! FPV drone shots are always kinda vast, but I’m constantly improving my aerial shots and recently started using traditional drone shots as well.
