I have a ONX620 and it does not have this heat function which is awesome. Only the 630 has it. I really like my 620 its amazing.

Before ingress expert measurement run the Docsis check. That's where the upstream channel descriptors get there freq position from. Save it to the workorder and run that workorder on your ingress scan. I see substantial ingress under the second docsis carrier. Its that green bump. if you scroll down from where your at it will list the frequency's and amplitude of each of the 4 carriers. You will see that ingress affecting that carrier.

Ingress is measured with no power running thru the cable line... for example...if your at the Tap...u disconnect the line from the tap and the Dmark...then u connect the line on your meter and measure the ingress... anything below -40 is ingress...

Thats not true. The Viavi measures ingress under channel IUC. If you disconnect the line you will never see the upstream docsis positions or there health and amplitude. And I'm pretty sure you'll have ingress with an unterminated line. You just measure at the ground block and hook up both port 1 & 2 on the meter to the tap side and the cpe side.

You mean anything above -40 is ingress.

Is there anyway to test a tap for ingress?

@flyboyjaye Yes, open the output test port on the tap and connect an i-stop or SV05 and test.

Anyone know why the noise floor is so much lower on the 620 compared to the DSAM? I am sure it has something to do with the FFT vs SS but never see anyone actually explain same. Also, how does that effect (if at all) the failure threshold?

      is it because it's like -10db ?

Is there a way to lower the floor. Mine is at -30. I see yours at -45.

does anyone know how to remote into it so you can leave in a hub and look at spectrum on android phone, i hear people saying it can be done but never seen anyone actually do it, talk is cheap

Adam Adame only can be done on iPhone sir.

@@2shotsofvaca411 ANY SPECIAL SOFTWARE NEEDED OR PATCH ON THE VIAVI?, SEEMS LIKE A PAIN IN THE ASS, I LIKE THE 1G DSP BETTER, , THIS METER IS A PICE OF SHIT IN MY OPINION

I dont understand the point of the auto agc setting. If you have it on it can move the floor higher so you cant see the noise it makes no sense. Then if you turn of agc itll say over threshold

@@midbladeGoA i agree i just wanna b able to scroll/arrow down my view not have to thru all kinds of steps. And why cant i punch in a freq like when im setting up an oscillator at node back to hub to set up link, only way u can do it is to thru loopback, its not intuitive at all. And yes spectrum only works on forward part but cant just enter center freq i hate this meter
