i live in hoch swartzwald near Bonndorf and recently ordered a Nox xc trail bike with the new Sachs motor from Bodensee . unfortunately i have to wait until Mai to get it which is really depressing ., but it's too cold to ride anyway , so .😭😂

Bike is built for aggressive riding not cross country that’s what a pedal bike is for!! This bike is meant to bomb and shred trails. So fun!!

I’m actually thinking about getting an e-mtb but I have no idea which one to get.
I’ve been riding a mtb Peugeot Team Line which weighs 11,5 kg for 20 years now and I’m worried that an e-mtb which weighs twice as much might be too heavy for me.
Also, the noise of the motor is something that probably will annoy me after a while. So I’m not that convinced about e-mtb.
Have you tested the Nox Hybrid 7.1 yet? If yes, what do you think about it?

@@fifieuskadi Actually, nope, hadn't seen it. To answer your questions: yes, it's heavy, but you'll get used to it. But the riding is definitely different. I can not say that it's better or worse, it has advantages (like increased stability in the air - I had never done any jumping on my Canyon Spectral, but now I'm feeling confident to try and gap smaller bumps and gaps on the trail) and disadvantages (like increased breaking distance). When I got my Propain Ekano e-MTB I made sure to optimize everything for agility (tire size, frame size, brakes) and that worked out pretty well for me. So there are a few adjuster screws to make an e-mtb feel more like a regular mtb. For example what I don't understand is the trend for mullett setups (29" up front, 27.5" in the rear). Yes, it adds to stability and ease of riding, but it also makes the e-bike, which already feels like a tank, ride like a tank even more.
Regarding the Nox bike: nope, I haven't ridden it yet. Planned to test a few more rides this summer, but I think that won't work out...

Gutes Review! - fahre selbst ein Decoy und kann dem voll zustimmen. Es ist sehr abfahrtlastig ausgelegt.

Good video, nice review. But in my opinion you cant compare the Decoy to a trail bike... Is an enduro machine done to smash the verts and destroy the jumps.
More agresive/hardcore riding style than in video, done to enjoy.

I think the YT Decoy is more like a downsized downhill bike, but yes, you're right. It's more made for the bike park, less for trails.

@Pham: wie schneidet das Decoy im Vergleich zum giant ab? Hattest du da ähnliche Probleme mit den Bremsen und dem handling? Vielen Dank. Grüße
Dadurch dass das Giant 27.5“ Räder hat, kam es mir einfach agiler vor. Das Giant war mein erster ebike Test und es ist natürlich auch ein „Traktor“ auf engen Singletrails, aber trotzdem einfach agiler. 29“ auf einem normalen Bike sind geil, 29“ auf einem ebike reduzieren imho auf Grund des höheren Gewichts halt die Agilität nochmal stärker. Das Decoy ist halt generell abfahrtsorientierter (dafür ist YT ja bekannt) und weniger trailorientiert gefühlt. Dh: wenn du vom Downhiller kommst und viel Park fährst ist es genial, wenn du von einem Trailbike kommst ist es gewöhnungsbedürftiger (aber natürlich trotzdem ein mega gutes Fahrrad).
@@PHAM_mtb Danke für die Antwort. Ich bin bisher nur das norco sight vlt gefahren und fand es sehr poppig. Fahre selbst ein 29 Trail Rad (Stumpi 2019) und habe nur in engen Kehren oder bei steilen Stufen Nachteile des Ebikes bemerkt. Sonst fand ich es stabiler auf dem Trail. Das Decoy war eigentlich meine erste Wahl aufgrund der Ausstattung und der kürzeren Kettenstreben, die es agiler machen sollten. Muß es selber fahren, nur ist echt schwierig eines zum Test zu bekommen.
20:42 ...das beste am Bike ist die Fidlockflasche (yt nennt sie thirstmaster glaub ich) 👍🏻 (600ml und schön breit, passt dadurch schön auf die breiten E-MTB Unterrohre und auch in kleine Rahmen mit wenig/gar kein Platz für grössere Flaschen
Guter Punkt, hab ich gar nicht beachtet wegen Camelbak oder wie das Ding heißt.

Hast du auch schon mal ein Levo dazu vergleichen können? Wenn ja, was macht das Decoy besser oder schlechter? Was sagst zu den Motoren?
Levo konnte ich noch nicht testen! Bin gestern das Trek Powerfly 9 gefahren: viel agiler, Bosch Motor ist lauter aber gefühlt hielt der Akku länger. Kann ja eigentlich nicht sein, aber kP. Anyway, guck dir mal das Trek Powerfly an.

Ich möchte mir auch ein Decoy zulegen...werde allerdings warten was die anderen Hersteller mit dem neuen Bosch Motor für 2020 auf den Markt werfen.
Könntest du vielleicht noch deine Meinung zu dem Shimano Motor mit der Yt-eigenen Software sagen? Wie sind die einzelnen Unterstützungsstufen geregelt? Liegt genug Power an der Kurbel an?
Also genug Power auf jeden Fall! Bin natürlich nur in Boost gefahren, das war echt gut. Auf Singletrails BERGAUF konnte ich es nicht testen, mich hätte mal interessant wie der Trails Modus funktioniert. Ansonsten, probier mal das Specialized Levo mit Brose Motor. Das ist ein GANZ ANDERES Fahrgefühl und ziemlich geil!
PHAM Inwiefern ganz anders? Ich habe bisher nur den Bosxh Cx getestet und fand den ziemlich beeindruckend! Ich mag einfach eine kraftvolle Unterstützung die mich den Berg raufzieht!
Felix Hartart den Brose Motor hab ich nur kurz auf dem Parkplatz getestet, aber mein erster Eindruck war, dass die Unterstützung viel natürlicher war. Man hätte nicht das Gefühl, dass da ein Motor arbeitet aber man ist natürlich trotzdem zackig unterwegs. Keine Ahnung, muss es nochmal auf einem Trail testen.

Hehe cool danke dass es dir gefällt :) bin 1,89m und hatte XL. Fand es sehr angenehm. Der Slovene mit dem ich hochgefahren bin war so 1,86m, hatte L und fand das ein bisschen zu klein. Er meinte, er fühlte sich etwas aufs “Bike gezwängt” ;)
Right. First half an hour I felt a bit crampt, because my ass remember riding position on my Scott Spark720. But later I find riding position very good. I will buy size L next year!

Larry Fitzgerald ich empfehle dir XL! Es fällt etwas kleiner aus als die Rahmen von Ghost oder anderen MTB Herstellern. Bin 181cm und halte auch Ausschau nach dem XL
Danke für dein Video. Super gemacht und wirkst sehr sympatisch. Mein Decoy Pro Race bekomme ich im August und freue mich schon sehr drauf :) Bin 173cm groß und habe auf Empfehlung von YT Größe M bestellt. Bin mir aber gerade leicht unsicher ob ich nicht doch L hätte nehmen sollen :P Dennoch schöner Trail. Nach Saalbach sind es für mich ca. 4 1/2 Stunden aber ich glaube es lohnt sich da mal vorbei zuschauen.

Ne, M ist gut für dich! Bin 183cm und fahre das Decoy in L = perfekt. Mein Capra von 2016 in L ist deutlich grösser, empfand dieses aber immer als etwas zu gross. Ich mag das kleinere Decoy weils dadurch eben verspielter ist und man das Gewicht so etwas kompensiert.

Well, if you are going to test this bike, you could have taken it to leogang bikepark instead of mellow blue flow hackelberg. You could have gone bergstallen (black) instead too, from the same hill hackelberg starts from. It's built for much more rowdy terrain than this.
Exactly my conclusion. But riding black bike park trails is not my territory, so I figured this bike isn’t for me.
Hi, as a shorter rider I'm not a fan of 29er, and you are so right about losing agility up front. Very helpful video as I have been looking at ebikes and this YT
Check the Propain Ekano. You can freely configure wheel sizes and wheel size combos there and a bunch of other things. Bike is in the same price range as the Decoy and looks like a really nice contender!

Hi! Super vid, ich bins nochmal ☺️ ehm vllt kannst mir eine Entscheidungshilfe geben, stehe aktuell zwischen zwei bikes. Einmal das Propain Ekano, dem yt decoy shred (da kein pro da aktuell) und alternativ noch dem cube 160 actionteam. Hab halt bisher nur das cube fahren können, bin meist in den heimischen Wäldern unterwegs und hätte aber gern auch ein bike um ordentlich den Berg runter zu brechen, trails, downhill. Sprich ordentlich Reserve. Kannst du mir hier etwas empfehlen? Primär is mir die Downhill und die Motorbeschaffenheit.... grüße 👌
Das YT Decoy ist downhill-orientierter, das Propain Ekano fühlt sich eher wie ein Trail oder Enduro Bike an. Das Cube 160 kenne ich nicht. Aber so wie du es beschreibst würde ich an deiner Stelle auf das YT Decoy gehen.

Wie fandest du die Sram Code im Vergleich zu deiner Shimano Bremse ? Welches E-Bikes ziehst du sonst noch in Betracht ? Informatives Video - Danke.
Die Shimano Bremsen an meinem Canyon sind halt schon irgendwie sehr geil. Wie gesagt, die Bremsen am Decoy kamen mir einfach nicht so „bissig“ vor. Eigentlich habe ich sonst keine E-Bikes in Betracht gezogen - bis ich auf dem Parkplatz das Specialized Levo eines Bekannten gefahren bin am nächsten Tag. Das hat ein sehr sehr geiles Fahrgefühl durch den Brose-Motor, der extrem leise ist und sehr natürlich Unterstützung gibt. Probier das mal aus! Ich werde versuchen es irgendwo mal probezufahren :)
Ich fahre die Code Rsc an meinem yt capra mit trickstuff Belägen und das sind die besten und bissigsten die ich je gefahren bin. Ich bin damit mehr als zufrieden:)
Jan Ising Danke für den Tipp. Habe mich mit Bremsbelägen tatsächlich noch nie beschäftigt, ich kauf einfach immer die vom Hersteller nach :)
PHAM bin aktuell bissl am überlegen mir auch was in dir Richtung zuzulegen, Levo hatte ich mal kurz getestet, macht schon Laune nur P/L ist bei denen immer so ne Sache. Der Motor ist aber spitze vom Fahrgefühl, durch den Riemen zudem deutlich leiser und das komplette entkoppeln falls Akku alle ist auch nice. In Sachen Komponenten und Ausstattung gibts bei yt aber eben schon richtig viel fürs Geld, weshalb es schon ne interessante Alternative darstellt, obwohl es deutlich abfahrtsorientierter ist, was ich nicht zwingend bräuchte.
@@hannes2289 PERFEKT meine Gedanken zum Thema zusammen gefasst. Levo / Brose Motor find ich auch echt nice, aber an den Specialized Bikes gefallen mir immer ein paar andere Dinge nicht. Hast du schon mal vom Propain Ekano gehört? Propain ist ein Hersteller aus Baden-Württemberg. Im November bin ich mal bei denen vor Ort um das Ekano zu testen (Video kommt dann asap). Aber guck dir bis dahin mal den Bike Konfigurator auf der Webseite an. Das könnte sehr nice werden das Ding.

Compare the 2 hour walk to the top vs the 10 minute ride. Not a fair comparison you can't just judge it on the decent.
I like what yt did here. Push the absolute limit of what can be "ridden" to the top to have the most fun on the way back down. Cause no dh bike would make it even 200m up that climb.

Propain Ekano mal angesehen? Für 5,800€. Bekommt man da ne brutale Ausstattung
hey, ich wollte es mir auch kaufen aber bin bei der Größe unsicher L oder XL.ich bin 177cm und innenbeinlänge von 90-92cm. beim canyon Torque on und spectral bin ich L gefahren, weil dort das Sitzrohr länger war, bei canyon die meinten das wäre besser weil der Sattel bei M sonst zu weit Raus kommt. Das decoy XL liegt von der Geometrie genau zwischen den beiden bis auf den Reach. Vielleicht könntest du mir helfen. Danke

Hey, danke für den Sub. Habe einen Evoc Freeride irgendwas. Warum? Wegen dem Rückenprotektor, Werkzeugfach und Trinkblasen-Gedöns. Wieso fragst du?
PHAM moin moin. Ich bin auf der Suche nach einem neuen Rucksack mit Protektor. Habe jetzt den CamelBak KUDU zur Ansicht, aber der gefällt mir nicht so. Über den Evoc las ich, das die Verarbeitung nicht so dolle und der Protektor unbequem sei? Welche Erfahrung hast Du mit dem?
Hey, ich hab eigentlich geantwortet aber irgendwie ist der Kommentar verschwunden. Also nochmal von vorne. Verarbeitung ist imho gut. Nutze ihn seit 2 Jahren zum Biken, Skifahren, Wandern teilweise. Immer vollgepackt, paar Stürze. Gibt nicht mal angerissene Nähte oder so. Den Rückenprotektor merke ich gar nicht, also weit weg von unbequem. Also von mir Kaufempfehlung! Hoffe das hilft :)

Hard to say. I think the Decoy might be more downhill oriented, the Propain more trail oriented.

E bike motors sometimes require computer diagnostics. Suggest purchasing from dealer like specialized . They will stand behind any issues you have
My friend is currently trying to get his Specialized motor fixed - not an easy task as well because the dealer is not so responsive after 2 years of warranty have passed ;)
@@PHAM_mtb does he want free labor and parts? I'm sure the motor has a limited warranty. What disables the motor a lot of the time is water exposure such as washing with pressure hose near motor area

A Better engine, 70 newton metres of torque is just not enough, this is the only issue I have with this bike.. The brose would of been a better choice for this machine..
The Brose motors are definitely the best, but torque wouldn't be my first issue to mention :) Battery size over everything ;)
This ebike is not for that kind of trails my friend, it’s more a steep rocky descend tool
Yes it sure is capable of that, however for me I feel like it wouldn’t be agile enough on techy trails. I agree, most Ebikes aren’t really “agile” in the classical sense, but I’ve ridden some that are better than the YT Decoy.
PHAM Norco Sight is the probably the nimble ebike with integrated battery and not stupidly expensive like the Pivot Shuttle
I have a Pro. It eats up trails like that. Not sure why you would think otherwise.
Ken Goessling because it’s a tight twisty no rocky section, you need a more progressive suspension, lower bbh, and maybe a bit steeper head angle, anyway as you can see it can do it really well but it’s even better when things go more enduro. Just tune the suspension for a more reactive ride adding spacers, low the front suspension to 150 (its only a part no need to change the whole fork) the bike has short chainstays and is not heavy so it can achieve a more snappy feeling.
@@abelramos8652 true but with the YT Decoy you can boost up to the top...no comparison IMO. Most don't have a bike choice for each ride, you need a bike that can do it all. I just spent four days in Bentonville AR on my Pro with 10 other guys, four on Trek Ebikes. Ebike guys had a lot more fun, even on the enduro downhills. We didn't dread the trip back up and made more runs which equals more fun.
Teste doch mal das Spectral:ON 9.0 - klarer Mitstreiter in der Kategorie und trotz ontube Akku brutaler Look. Vorteil, ein Zweitakku ist hier deutlich günstiger als beim Decoy. Ich warte aktuell noch auf die neuen Bosch Bikes, danach gibts eine Entscheidung. Das leckere YT liegt haben wollen aktuell weit vorne.
Hast du mal das Propain Ekano angeschaut? Ich bin auch gerade dabei mehrere EMTB zu vergleichen und das Propain liest sich sehr ansprechend
Konnte ich leider noch nicht ausprobieren, wobei ich sagen muss, dass mir das Design null gefällt. Daher auch kein so großes Bedürfnis das auszuprobieren.
Michael Gartner sehr geiler Tipp, hatte ich noch gar nicht auf dem Zettel, sieht echt Hammer aus.
@@michaelgartner1450 Auch für mich ein guter Tipp und heißer Kandidat, da ich SRAMs AXS auch spannend finde. Einzig die FOX Aufkleber wirken leider etwas befremdlich auf dem gelben & blauen Look. Das Topmodell kann preislich dafür absolut überzeugen! (im Direktvergleich... über 6.000€ für ein Bike ist für mich noch ungewohnt)
@@HenkP85 früher gab es bei Propain das Projekt Free dort konnte man alle denkbare Farbe für seinen Rahmen wählen und auch mit oder ohne Aufkleber. Ich selbst bin schon das Rage, Spindrift und Tyee gefahren. Der Kundenservice ist bombastisch vllt mal anrufen und nachfragen ^^ bestimmt bekommt man das Rad auch ohne Aufkleber und gegen einen Aufpreis auch in anderen Farben

I know, but even if you let go of pedaling completely and then shift, it will still creak like hell because the motor still continues to apply torque. Especially in turbo it’s kinda impossible to not make it hurt your ears like that.

Good choice. I habe ridden the Trek Powerfly on multiple occasions and really dug those.
@@PHAM_mtb yeah seen those, it's going to be my first full suspension and first e bike, only started off looking at trek fuel ex then went down a youtube rabbit whole and have convinced myself I need a full suspension ebike. Want it to be able to do everything road, coastal trails, and bike parks. Appreciate the time you take to give us the videos 👍

Sorry aber warum redest du englisch wenn du deutscher bist oder Österreicher? Dieses Touristen English ist schrecklich, kein slang oder etwas ähnliches.
Deutscher Slang, Junge! Weil 60% meiner Zuschauer nicht deutsch sprechen und für die ist mittelgeiles Englisch gut genug, weil eh verhältnismäßig wenig Menschen die nicht Muttersprachler sind gutes Englisch sprechen. Also fuck it, mein Englisch reicht um mich sehr gut verständlich zu machen. Außerdem, hab kein Bock „nur“ mit der Deutschen Community zu interagieren, die Leute sind mir häufig zu negativ. Unnötig und völlig überteuert dieses e-bikes, das Geld steck ich lieber in die Komponenten und wehe der Akku ist hin, dann wird es nochmal teuer. Hat in meinen Augen nichts mit Radsport zu tun wenn ein Motor mir die Arbeit abnimmt
Christian DH ist auch ne Meinung :) wobei der Motor dir die Arbeit ja nicht abnimmt, sondern nur unterstützt. Dh du kommst mit der gleichen Arbeit viel weiter. Probier es mal aus!
@@PHAM_mtb hab ich und das hat für mich halt nix mit Eigenleistung zu tun,,, der Motor nimmt dir alles ab. Du kommst Berge mit 25 Sachen hoch, die du mit einem richtigen bike nicht mal im Wiegetritt annähernd so schnell fahren würdest. Dazu hält der extreme Preis und die kosten für nen neuen Akku. Aber jeder soll fahren wie er will . Ich bleib bei echter Muskelkraft 😉

Eine Studie hat beweisen das E-Biker im Schnitt mehr Kalorien verbrennen als BioBiker da sie deutlich mehr Kilometer zurücklegen
