- EPISODE 105: The Eurasian Steppes are grasslands that extend from Eastern Europe to Manchuria in northeast China. This is where most of our languages and ancestors come from. In this video, I give a description from my travels there as to what life is like. This life is similar to the life our ancestors lived here thousands even tens of thousands of years ago. This is part three of a series on languages.

Listening to you speak about the Eurasian Steppes was like walking into a different world filled with beautiful colors, sights and smells. The way you describe this place was so interesting. It awoken the senses and felt as if being there. What a wonderful journey you must have had. To hear the different music and wonder what the stories were about had to be magical. What amazing memories you have of your visit! It was if we were there watching and listening. The painted skies must have been beyond beautiful as well as the colors of the silks being sold. Thank you so much for this! One could literally get lost in a meditation of this journey.
When I travel it is as if I am propelled into one of your videos. I have absolute focus, appreciation, and enthusiasm for what I am seeing. Maybe this is why it is so easy for me to recall these places even long after I have visited.

I guess as I think about this, it is kind of funny. Funny, because I describe it as such a distant place yet this is your home. When I describe the steppes in this series I am referring more to the nomadic steppes. I know Kyiv has had settlements for something like 1500 years. I think I have caught you in the middle of your night Oksana. I hope you are sleeping well and your dreams are what you wish them to be.
@@potentialreality Yes, it's truly amusing how we see the world from different perspectives! I imagine your home as such a distant and inaccessible place, yet it's your everyday reality. Thank you for your concern! Our nights are quite uncomfortable right now due to various external factors I can't control, like having to close windows to block out smells and navigating in complete darkness due to power outages. I don't know who caught whom tonight; the connection was brief. I hope you're sleeping well and having the most pleasant dreams!

I had to make the journey just to do it, to see where Indo-European languages along with others came from and I enjoyed seeing nomads but much of this looked the same. I am glad I made the trip but not the most scenic place to visit. Days and days of grasslands didn't impress me.

The caption below translated talked about speaking Visayan. The caption translation also said this was your nephew and use he, him etc. Is this your niece or nephew? I suppose it is possible it is a boy but the clothes, the bow in the hair, and earrings at that age would seem to indicate being a girl but maybe that part of the Philippines boys do that. I appreciated his/her expressiveness.
