Durango has by far been my most favorite “ mom car “. I have 3 kids and a husband. We all 5 love it so much. We test drove others recently and it doesn’t compare to dodge. Needless to say , we will be upgrading our Durango to a new one wirh more bells and whistles when we do trade . Such a great car !
You mean you have 4 kids. Lol
@@christophermaclachlan2694her kids, husband, and her . That’s five
@@charles1517 Husband= kid?
Upgraded from a jeep cherokee to an RT. Wife and I love the thing. She's a beast
I have a 2015 Blacktop edition ( bought it new ). Being retired and traveling a lot, I have managed to put 250,000 miles on her. With regular maintenance the Vehicle is still going strong The wife and I absolutely LOVE this SUV.
Your Durango has the 5.7 hemi?
@@SwizzMedia-kt5tr No. A six cylinder.
So still the original motor and transmission?
Absolutely @@richardlanier2113
I love how “angry” it drives. Does feel like a muscle car over a family hauler.
Thanks for the video
I'm in Pa. My 2020 Durango R/T Blacktop Edition Lease is up but Dodge Dealership's in my area don't have any 2023 Durango's on the lot.
If you are going to get an R/T definitely the tow and go is the way
I bought a used 1998 Durango 5.9L 4WD, I forget the ratio but it was fairly low as the truck was meant to tow. Yes it did have the tow package with limited slip front differential. I see a lot of similarities between the latest Durango. I fail to see what the problem is. Cosmetic changes are not the issue.
Dodge Charger, Chevy Camero and Ford's Shelby Mustang all bear a resemblance to the originals produced 50 years ago. People seem to like that.
Just traded up to one of these from our 2013 Durango Crew. The V8 addresses my only significant complaint about the V6 in my old one being underpowered for something this chunky, and the RT is a better drive across the board. The fact that it's an evolution of a vehicle we liked was a selling feature for us as we were very comfortable with the old one. Note for Ben tho; try to slow down your delivery, as you were hard to understand at times.
Thank you for a video on the Durango! It’s underrated, but is an amazing vehicle. I look forward to driving it as my daily driver, and the Charger 392 occasionally.
I have a '20 Blacktop Black on Black and absolutely love it.Traded my Sante Fe Ultimate for it and no regrets!
funny im literally in the same boat, thinking of trading my santa fe calligraphy in 4 a rt plus
@@elitegamerprochamp3437 great choice 😁
My dream American SUV! Terrific job Ben.
Mine too.
Me too but why is it so expensive 😭😭😭
Just took it for a test drive this thing is amazing
The third row delete option would be the ticket for me….
I ordered all the parts to do it for my tow and go. It's still like 6 weeks out tho/:
I Love the Dodge Durango!
Well done!
Looking at 2022 Hemi Orange tomorrow while my Challenger Scat is being serviced
Did Dodge ever fix the cam and lifter issues? I got lucky and was able to put 105k on my 2012 RT before it started showing signs.
For the 3rd row, access is achieved by pulling the red tag line after pulling up on the lever on the side of the seat. That opens up a huge lane to climb into the 3rd row.
I know
Mid consoles opens both ways and has one usb connection for back seats
It sucks when you have car seat in 2nd row. Only option is to remove center console so that we can get into 3rd row. I been debating from last few months to buy one.
@@malnadgowda_inusa3734 I agree. We won’t buy it for that exact reason.
@@malnadgowda_inusa3734I have a car seat in the second row & can still open the access to the 3rd row 🤷🏻♀️
Mopar or No Car! Great review! V8 or nothing!
The new dodge Durango looks good for SUV
I have a Durango limited and the captain chairs in the second row are pretty amazing don’t get me wrong but for the money I’m comparison to the explorer ST , for the whole second row and about a thousand dollars less than the explorer ST this Durango is a better option and plus the exhaust is not fake like the explorer lol in my opinion yes the Durango RT is the best thing in the market for a mid size family suv and that sound boyyyyyy 🤘🏽❤️
I really wish they had kept the Dakota around and up to date with this Durango 😢
waiting for a Dodge durango r/t Hemi orange review 😭😭
Stopped by my local Dodge dealer the other day to check this suv price out. No way I'd pay $62,000 for a R/T. They are smoking dope. Those are SRT prices at the least.
LMAO, a 2019-20 with 25k Mike's is 65k where I am
@@JMV0711 is that before or after all the extras?
They’re 43-47k where I’m at
These are not cars you’re financing new. You lease them and either buy thru lease or trade them in. Unless you getting big GUAP.
You better get out from underneath that rock you're hiding under, because that's the new prices. SRT are like 70k+
so what the different between this 2023 and 10 years ago durangos styles ? no different same style shape .
The Hemi is the only reason to get the Durango. It’s living on borrowed time.
If Ben mentioned the 0-60 times in his videos, he'd get a 10 out of 10
Agreed, unless you can get a GT Plus with all the packages for less than 45k (which is possible). But the Durango lacks a lot of tech other competitors have. The Telluride and Palisade both crush the Durango in terms of value.
@@JMV0711 Lol, I think beauty is subjective but you’re definitely in the minority if you look at sales. I love the Durango (I’m on my second one in 9 years). I don’t do the HEMI because I care about fuel efficiency more than torque/HP (I don’t tow anything either). I like the minor updates Dodge made to the front and interior, but the design is still roughly the same as it’s been for 13 years. I’d like to see a more radical redesign. And they still don’t offer a lot of what you get in other SUVs at the same price point.
It's completely redesigned this year so yeah... That doesn't really matter.
@@LordCyler What is completely redesigned?
I would definitely get a tow n' go package on a R/T. Such a great value. Ben have you driven a tow n go package yet ??
I have it with shit load of extras and sport srt breaks l love it!!
I guess Dodge said no point of updating the design if the durango is going away. What is the difference from the 2022 version vs 2023. Dodge really have to update this thing considering how much they cost.
The Durango is arguably the most “manly” unibody crossover, but it’s also soon to be 13 years old, riding on the same platform with only minor tweaks over time. Time for a redesign Dodge!
I think Stellantis is more likely to kill it outright than replace it. The Grand Cherokee L is basically the new Durango and I doubt Stellantis wants to cannibalize those sales.
@@kentatm2663 I think people bought Durango want a performance "SUV" we won't get that for a while from JEEP yes I am sure there will be a trackhawk version of the New GC.
2024 they redesigning . Was gonna turn my 2020 lease in for a 2023 hemi orange but gonna wait to see what the 2024 look like
What's almost 13 years?
@@2TONKA since a complete redesign. They've certainly had refreshes over the years, but that's it.
Is it all wheel drive?
I wanna trade in my 22 challenger for this so bad
No button to turn off auto start/stop or are Hemis not equipped with it? Hate that feature.
My '21 RT doesn't have auto start/stop, just cylinder deactivation (eco mode) and you can turn it off.
2014+ has it
@@2TONKA I checked my manual and it shows the button placement in the vehicle if equipped, but I don't have it. It should be next to the sport mode button but mine is blank. I have a '21 RT with some options for reference.
@@66cotter ohh
If you had to make a choice between this R/T or the 2023 Ford Explorer ST SUV which one would you buy?
That's a tough question to answer! I have a 21 Grand Cherokee Limited X but am looking at the RT or ST. I'm torn between both!
I bought a 23 Durango RT Plus 3 weeks ago. Loving it!
Is the Durango going to be full framed instead of unibody?
In 2024, not this 2023
Anybody know the paint color? Looks cool.
Looks like a octane red color
I got a Caravan man I need something faster this look the one lol
Are you speaking in fast forward??
Does it have adaptive cruise control?
This one does not, usually offered on the RT Plus. The way you can tell when viewing online is by looking at the steering wheel for the car length buttons
He spoke heavy Irish accent the first minute that I thought he was not in the US.
2023 Durango models are out? Thought it was still at 2022
No major changes for 23’ other than colors
@@BenHardyCars Thanks!
@@BenHardyCars so what year is this model you are reviewing?
I was wondering myself, want to trade my 2020 R/T Lease in but I haven't seen a 2023
thats what I thought. Why isnt 2023 showing on durango website?
Please use entire words. I can’t guess what they are from on syllable.
All you have to mention is
Power shifters
Or paddle shifters.
I don't like that.
The V6 is fine. Not all of us are speed demons
Meh, interior and exterior look kind of bland and dated. Not something I would spend 60k on new. Add more and get a Yukon/Tahoe/Suburban with the 6.2 if you want something more modern with a V8. I'm in the camp that SUV doesn't need to be fast, that's what we have our cars for. Comfort and large cruising range wins in my book so got the Duramax powered Suburban.
I dunno... so many of the automakers just fart out a bunch of glossy piano black or carbon fiber for the "modern" interiors interiors w/a big ass tablet randomly tacked on and call it a day. I'd much rather have the materials in the average the Durango and the infotainment screen actually built into the dash. The "modern" gloss piano black and carbon fiber accents are going to age horribly plus and the amount of dust and fingerprints the black picks up is maddening.
You sound like napoleon dynamite brother
The Durango's design is being copied now by new SUVs just coming out in the market.
The design is timeless!!!Loved it then and still love it now.
Wish FCA will not fck up the redesign for 2024.🙏🙏🙏
@Catholic Firefighter take a look at the new design and tell us what you think. It’s ugly!!!
This Durango is a 2022 model NOT a 2023.
It’s 2023 dodge…still using old tech, no 360 cameras, laggy UI. Can’t respect the effort at all.
I’d love to watch this, but I can’t understand a word he is saying. Good Lord, slow it down.
nah...ill buy a ford explorer st....much better...
Terrible fuel efficiency
Not impressed
Overpriced and Outdated for 60k 😢
please ! all the vehicle and no space. hey add two three inches the gas milages is so bad why difference do 18 miles a tankful really make in the real world of driving. we need 40 miles a gallon for ant vehicle that size. even his can't sit in those back seats. man! no way that should cost any more than 23,000 dollars maxed out.
Speak slower bro
+1 ...I had a hard time understanding at the beginning . Slow down.....
Listen faster!
@@berso84 😂🤣😂😂🤣😂
You talk fast your bad
He really doesn't talk that fast. Seems to me that you may just be a slow listener... with poor grammar.
Talk too damn fast
The Only Family SUV Worth Buying. BULL SHIT
well if your a man driving it
@@JMV0711 Yeah i have a 2022 SRT, tried to get the Hellcat. Kinda pissed the 2023 might have one. Lots of talk about the 2021 owners suing dodge now over it.
The whole car looks rather old and outdated. This is the same look for like 20+ years. Snooze. BTW, at least get the car cleaned before doing the video. Having a durty car is just an annoying sight.
Ok Karen
Who cares? This SUV drives like a big charger.
No point of getting the Durango if you buy the V6
Horrible !
