A few explanations because you do ask a lot of questions.
As Sakazuki you almost never want to take the hina to hand off a brannew search if you have another choice because you will most likely never play it raw. Taking the Ice Age was the right call because the only thing to do with a Hina in hand is discard it off leader effect.
He couldn't have taken Rebecca off the brannew search because she is not Navy.
resting and keeping the rebecca rested instead of a Brannew makes sense because to get a card out of hand from an attack with the Brannew would cost 2 DON each, whereas attaching that DON to the leader gets the same amount of 2K cards but more 1K cards. The idea is that if you don't have blockers on your field, it's actually better for you if your opponent spends the DON on the Brannew swings than if they just attach the 4 DON to the leader instead, because you'll need less counter to get out of it. It also means that if the opponent plays another 4cost or less blocker by the next turn you can rest it too, and just swing at life unblocked.

The sakazuki player got not so great hand vs perona, also made the critical mistake of not countering out of those early 5k swing forcing him to counter out of the 8k swing later

I feel like it was a hard throw when sakazuki took a 5k swing at 1 life when he had 2 borsolino to counter and gets punished with 6k swing from leader in the same turn going down to zero life, for the rest of the game he had to play super defensive and lost cause of it

I feel like the perona should've gone for the 5k on the rebeccas on the 10 doffy plays, it would've allowed him to freeze more threats and be safer

I don't know if I fully agree with that. He had a TON of counter in hand, so I think he was trying to prevent more blockers from stopping his attacks. blocks don't take away cards from hand, and if you want to go lethal you don't have to go over just regular attackers.

He for sure would have been able to save counter though going for the Hina's instead of Rebecca, I'm just not sure in the long run how that pans out.

Nah, he was setting up for lethal by attacking the Hina. Attacking Hina got 2 counters out of his hand which made the final 2 attacks all but guaranteed.

Idk why but this thing that Japanese players loves to just glue up their card between each other is so annoying. Both with their DON which makes you struggle to understand how many of them they have and both with characters on board which gets stacked on each other for absolute no reason at all. I m weird ik, but still 😂
I even saw in some matches the judge had to split em up

I think it’s just a thing about japanese sleeves. I have japanese pokemon sleeves on my don & after awhile they stick together. They don’t collect grime & stick like dragonshield, they just stick
