I can't believe I just read that! These are big names you are putting me next to :) THANK YOU!!
Agree learning so much from them
THIS is the type of content most viewers here subscribed for. 😉 YT algorithm will richly reward you.
Thank you Jeremy! I'm always so happy to see a comment of yours under one of these vids! I'm testing the waters seeing what works and what doesn't! But yes this seems o be the popular stuff which is great cause it's the most interesting I think :) I got plenty more coming soon. The more I do the easier it gets and the more the ideas come! Thank you for your continued support!
Thank you so so much, Gabe!!! You've no idea how helpful this is!! 🙏🏽
Gabe, your tutorials are inspirations for those who are starting orchestral arrangements. You make us believe in our potential, because it shows how a simple arrangement can be enough! Thank you very much, master!
Hot sands of the desert, burning sun, a caravan far away... "Maurice Jarre, out of this body!" 😉
I've the full BBC SO but I use a lot its Discovery setting for making ensembles for sketching, it's lighter and faster to load when you stack in one instrument 4 kinds of strings + some ww and brass.
After I've sketched I split by tonalities and edit the tracks with "the real black BBC SO" and its more complex articulations.
Sorry ı'm beginner ;
Downloading midi source.Ask a few questions
-Which is the scale ?
-How to violas 3rd ?( Second chord C/E/G but violas playing C not playing E why ? )
-How to violin 2 P5 ( Which is the p5 ?)
Awesome!

Gabe thankyou so much for the tutorial. Your piano to orchestration videos are great and this one was even better. Thank you for showing us behind the scenes.
You are awesome man.. that was completely a perfect lesson
Thanks a lot Gabe I was waiting for a review of bbc discovery orchestra
Thanks again Gabe! This again is informative and inspirational. I think things are beginning to click in my brain a bit more now 😂. Please continue to make these priceless tutorials. 👍
Thanks heaps for your tutorial. I learnt more here than any other tutorial. Excellent!
Brother thank you so much for this. I can't express enough how grateful I am for this video. I watched moukala ones, but I fins your WAY MORE in depth. I loved how you explained the integration of each instrument section, thank you so much! Please don't stop making this orchestration from piano videos, they are amazing!
I really like that Video! Thank you for the Inspiration! This is GREAT!!! keep it Up!
Great work - Really appreciated your walk-thru of this piece and the downloads. Like many others here I learnt some great stuff. Thank you :-)
thanks very very good tutorial
grand sound easy way ... you r great teacher thanks ...
Such an excellent tutorial. You have a superb teaching method and break it down so even idiots like me can go away and make orchestral music. I got more out of this one tutorial than I did trawling through others for a couple of weeks. Keep up the great work and you have a new subscriber.
This is the first video I've found that shows how to modulate the Discovery parameters manually. I tend to do most of my composing with mouse and keyboard so this very much appreciated. Discovery is getting a lot of buzz so I think there is a lot of value in tutorials showing how to get the most out of it. Thank you!
This is absolutely wonderful!!! You ar a great musiciaan and a great teacher. Please keep up with this kind of videos, this step by step approach is amazing 🔥🔥🔥🔥🙂🙂🙂🙂💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
wow that’s amazing brother
I feel myself in the old Persia
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Gabe your tutorials keep getting better! Tom.
Thank you Tom! I really appreciate the kind words :)
Bravo and Thank you - I learned more from this one tutorial about orchestration technique, the use and placement of the various instruments, and utilizing the MIDI continuous controllers for adding emotion to the music, than I have from dozens of other CZcams channels regarding this subject.
I look forward to viewing all of your videos and those to come.
This is a much needed helping hand for those of us who have the "Music in our heads", but struggle to get it on paper or produced. Many of us keep doing the same old things over and over, because that is all we know and are comfortable with. You open our minds to other opportunities and ideas.
Keep it coming.
I enjoyed watching this and think your music sounds very effective. Ton beau accent plait moi beaucoup aussi. Merci!
Nice
I subscribed.
cool l'artiste ! continue ;)
Love those chords
Simplicity is the key (pun intended 😅 )
Yay!! Been waiting for this one since summer! Thank you for making this tutorial, I know how time consuming they are to make.
So glad you are excited about it! They are time consuming but I'm getting faster at making them and I have plenty more ideas for new ones very soon! Cheers!
@@grmusicnyc Stoked to hear it! Looking forward to those :)
Dear Gabe, thankyou so much for enlightening this old man with your skills, oh yes, when replace your piece I get the most enjoyable shiver down my spine. Outstanding sir!
Hey Steve!! Thank you for this super nice comment! I'm so glad you enjoyed the music and the video :)
Great video man, thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you Gareth! Glad you enjoyed it!
@@grmusicnyc im just moving from dance music production into orchestral scoring, this is by far the clearest tutorial video of many that I have watched. Thanks again for taking the time to do it, I'm sure this will be helpful for many 😁
Awesome video. It would be great if you can add 1 or 2 more episode where you expand on this melody. Maybe make into ABA form with a faster section B and go back to section A with different harmony and arrangement.
Sounds like a lighter version of Adagio for Strings.
wow thank you so much for the tutorial!! Can you make an tutorial on logic pro?
Hello ! I am French and, sorry for the translation by Google ... Your composition is magnificent and it will give me some good inspiring ideas. Thank you to you (I subscribe to your channel).
you are the best. Can youalso make a video on how to trailer music, please.
Interesting....
Sir, really love your videos..
just wanted to know,
why did you switch from logic to Cubase?😅
Why you changed the software .....logic Pro x to cubase.....🔥🔥
Great video, just if you can just rise your naration audio
👍👍❤️
Thanks a lot for your video! Is BBC SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA DISCOVER a multichannel vst? How do you place it in you DAW? also I'm interested how it works in Ableton?
Como anhela mi corazón esto 😢
Pero ni siquiera tengo un buen ordenador 😢
Great tutorial. Thank you. However you must adjust your mic voice to the same level as the music, it is way too low.
Hello, Gabe! Thank you for this video! Due to it I found out about Spitfire products and they are HUGE! Just free LABs section give me more suitable sounds than many of paid!
One silly question to you: do we need to set a
own instance of BBC for every instrument? Or we can somehow use a single instance for multiple instruments setting their own midi channel like we do in Kontakt. Actually I see choosing of midi in bbc, but don’t understand what for it was made. Thanks!
One instance per instrument, but it's like super small and I think not too taxing on resources
I work on Reaper, but on some tools the automation doesn't work, could you tell me why?
Gabe have you ever tried using Spitfire's free Labs instruments for a from Piano to Orchestra?
Hi Green Hope:) I forgot to mention it in the video but the piano I'm using is actually Soft Piano from Labs. I have to take a look into the other instruments they have but that sounds like a great idea. I'm actually thinking of a video that will feature only free software and ressources (including the DAW) hopefully I'll be able to make it soon :] cheers!
@@grmusicnyc I had another play with Labs, it doesn't use standard orchestra instruments so might be a challenge.
There are a few good free orchestral instruments now with Spitfire BBC Discover, Spitfire Labs, Project SAM free orchestra (works in free Kontakt Player), Orchestral Tools Layers, VSCO2 and Sonatina Orchestra.
Hi, Gabe! Tell me, please, what is the purpose of modulation control here? Isn't expression just enough?
It controls the intensity of the players "attack" on their instruments. So it does bring the intensity of the note up to in terms of texture. At least I think 😅😅 hope that makes sense
@@grmusicnyc Wow, thanks! That definetely makes sense :) Is it a built in feature of the BBC Discover or your own invention?
@@grmusicnyc Is it referred to as velocity in REAPER?
❤❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹
So glad you enjoyed it!
Do you know read and write music?? Why i can't find tutorials about write at staff with BBC SOD? Are all of you, guys, beginners?
where did logic go?? :(
AWESOME VIDEO ANYWAY OF COURSE!!
My beloved 2013 macbook pro is starting to show signs of old age especially when it comes to reading full orchestral arrangements and recording the screen at the same time. That being said, I'm just about to upload the logic project for this tutorial on the server for you to download ;) As I say in the video, in some aspects Cubase is very close to Logic Pro in terms of the interface and layout. So whatever I'm doing in this tutorial can be very easily replicated in Logic. Just press A in the left side of the piano roll to get to the MIDI automation menu and set the modulation end expression curves (you probably already know all that but just in case :) ) Cheers!
espacially on my new song "Stargazing" ;)
Great content. However I would love it if your voice was a bit louder and clearer. It's much quieter compared to other CZcams videos so viewers need to adjust the volume of their systems. ;) Also the difference between the computer sound (DAW) and your voice is too big. Anyway, good content anyway thanks!
Thanks for the feedback Antero! this is super helpful. Still working the technicalities of these recording but I'll try to do better with the levels next time. Cheers!
Could you please check your email and revert. Thank you. Waiting for your reply.
tere is no piano inBBC discover
Your automation looks very uneven. Nice use of harmonic minor though.
Lousy Audio in your spoken. Too quiet compared to DAW
Que horrible melodía, pero hermoso arreglo y querido amigo de cuatro patas
