    Do you remember this version of the game? Any other differences you noticed that I didn't mention? Leave a comment below!

    I remember this console launch version as well. Another difference that wasn't brought up here that I remembered was how the Snatcher fight lacked visual aid of specific attacks, making the fight by technicality harder on console because you had to really pay attention to the positioning of some attacks.

    • @Ah0yKatie
      @Ah0yKatie Před 11 dny

      One thing that made it even harder was the fact that the checkpoint wasn’t present, but when you died in the fight you wouldn’t get the free heal between phases 1 and 2. If you died on Phase 2, the fight would actually become HARDER because of this.

    I KNEW I WASN'T CRAZY! I distinctly remembered Conductor saying "Darlin" on my first playthrough and then every subsequent one, I thought I made that up in my head.

    I played it later on the Switch; maybe about a year ago for the first time, so I missed all those oddities. Such a great game though, and I really hope they make a sequel!

    • @Ah0yKatie
      @Ah0yKatie Před 11 dny +1

      These oddities weren’t on the Switch version actually - apparently they took a different method to port it because it used a later version of the game and actually received patches more quickly

    • @DoorsInTheLabyrinth

      @@Ah0yKatie yeah, it was definitely in good shape by the time I got around to playing it! I loved it, start to finish!

      @@DoorsInTheLabyrinth see while it didn't have the problems of THIS port it has a fair amount of problems in its own right given the performance on that system. I should know I only have a Switch to play it on... still a fun time though

    • @DoorsInTheLabyrinth
      @DoorsInTheLabyrinth Před 9 dny

      @@Ah0yKatie yeah, I mostly play my Switch (I did get a PS4 a while back, but don't play it much), I'm used to the performance quirks on the system lol!
      of course, I still play NES games and older, so dodgy performance rarely bothers me in a game!

    I remember not getting the console version because apparently there was some issues with porting over the DLC so I decided to wait for that to be resolved or one day get it on PC

    I remember not being able to turn off the hud on photo mode. That was annoying. Idk if it was patched.

    TCRF, saving cut content for everyone to see.
    I honestly love a lot the cut content as much as a videogame, because it's always fascinating to look at what could never make it.
    A Hat in Time is a great game for its own, and its a surprise that the console version is based on an early PC build, although this kind of cases turn out to be more common that anyone expect it.
    Haven't played the console version yet, but I can see how of the changes were better left untouched.
    I didn't know about Conductor's "darling" word being cut but it's a shame actually, that line adds so much to his personality, also it's a surprise you got his VA's autograph too! Nice.

    I first got A Hat in Time on my switch and for some odd reason, Switch version was a completely (though visual quality crunched) finished and patched version of AHIT, With DLC too! This was before the DLC patch for other consoles though and I learned that when a friend of mine was playing through for the first time on her Xbox! There was an extra room in Vanessa's Manor that she stumbled upon and none of us had an idea what was going on! We eventually found out from the official discord that the console version still had some old stuff in it and the extra room was cut in the final version. It's interesting to see the differences between final and console

    A friend of mine gifted me the Nintendo Switch version of A Hat in Time back in 2020 as a birthday present, with both Seal the Deal and Nyakuza Metro. I had so much fun with it and I couldn't put it down. Although, I will say I haven't experienced any of these oddities in that version of the game. Everything I had played was basically everything that the PC release had (minus the modding workshop because... well, you know, console and everything) but it is super interesting to see everything that was different about the intial console releases of the game. I can't believe it took them so long to put the DLC on the PS4 and Xbox One.

      It's actually very common, sadly. For example, the indie fighting game Skullgirls suffered by having to constantly push back DLC releases because they needed to get build approves from Sony.

    I’m still waiting on the physical Xbox One copy.
    I remember all these changes and man it feels weird to play a hat in time now, I got so used to how the game was, like the old pause menu and the old ice hat statue pose. I would love a mod that would allow you to mix and match certain elements of different builds to just see the differences.

    I only ever played the console version of this game and even then, I still found the game unrefined and unpolished in parts. Hopefully when I do inevitably come back to the game, a lot of issues I saw back then will not be there.

    The PC and Switch Versions were the same. the Xbox and ps4 versions I first played the ps4 version it was fun it wasn't till I got the switch version where I saw differences. Truthful I think the mafia boss knowing about the hourglass was kind of interesting. It made me think Hat kid was somehow related to the Mafia boss like a uncle or distant cousin. The game is now mostly same now across all.

    The only thing I was aware of is that there is no Vanessa‘s curse on the Nintendo switch version of a hat in time ,not only that, but you can’t really play online with other people especially with their own worlds to and lastly, more collectibles of hats or stickers. Would you do a video what consul is best to play from independent game companies. because I swear, I know Nintendo switch version there are not a lot of games from different companies.
