Junko and Keiki here honestly aren't too bad once you know what you're getting into here. For the most part, each of them (either when they're together or apart) will fire fairly direct attacks at you that are easy to understand how to dodge. However at the same time they do have some trickier attacks that'll make you want to and have to move about the field when they come up. All about just learning what you're getting into before coming into this fight.

Only in Gensokyo can you see somebody using a giant laser as a substitute for a wake-up call.
...and Omega went through this whole script without realising that he's supposed to unfocus because your score multiplier's based on both unfocused time and focused time, and if you leave out one or the other it stays at one.
I'm a massive fan of this script's thematics, with the whole circle-and-square theme ingrained into everything - difficulty names, the shottypes, the patterns and, as I mentioned, the score system. I'll admit that the patterns feel a bit lacking towards the end (also A Round Cog in a Rectangular Machine, as fantastic as it looks, is an absolute mess), though it definitely delivers good results overall. Favourite spell is definitely Blue Cube Creatures, I love how the squares stack up and explode in lines.
(Also you're supposed to get inside the circle around Junko for Refinement of the Red Orb, otherwise it's too dense to dodge safely... it's Set's fourth spell on Lunatic all over again...)
And next up? YES. PLEASE. Definitely excited for Seija Flips You Off.
I have to agree, the aesthetics and the UI looks super neat, especially since it managed to mix hues of blues and reds in a funky sort of way.
Too bad about the difficulties being either too easy or too hard though; it's probably because most of the judges and more prominent players would jump straight to the Lunatic difficulty anyway, and this being an entry to a contest, maybe Naudiz's just strapped of time to make a 3rd difficulty. Sorta makes me wish there's more Touhou youtubers that showcases the Normal modes of games though...

Anyways, solid script from Naudiz, it feels really professional. I especially liked how he included his own scoring mechanic. And it's always nice to see someone use Useless's work.
BTW, I think Marisa was never intended to be added. I think her page was meant to be a Lethal Passageway-esque gag.

5:10 i dont get why the spell has "pandora's box" in it. Like, In Greek of where the mythic item comes from, it's *a jar*. In my mother language, it instinctively didn't make sense for me as there it's *a can*. In Japanese, it's "パンドラの箱" (pandora no hoko). At first glance, it would seem as simple as a calque from english ("箱" meaning box). Well, it is, but its meaning is more closely described as "a container with a lid". In which a simple square isn't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think dodging the first spell like that is intentional, or the fourth spell for that matter xP
I have very mixed feelings about this one. On the other hand it looks amazing aesthetically and I just love how smooth everything is. Plus it has some very creative patterns that I love (first spell, second spell, fourth spell, final). It absolutely deserves the second place it got even if I would personally put ttbd's entry above it (more consistently good). I do wish Naudiz didn't remove the glowy bullets on the final, the spell looked beautiful when all the bullets were glowing.
But on the other hand I feel like it's a bit padded with fairly uninteresting and easy nonspells. Te first non spell tried (but failed) to do something unique, but then the 3 nons after are all just rehashing what Junko and Keiki have already done. So I actually feel like this script would be of higher quality if the nonspells weren't there and it was just a highlight rush of 6 well made spellcards like what Adam did.
Pandora's Box also kind of gets the low end of the stick on Smooth because the gimmick doesn't really work here. The idea is that the circle is denser in the corners that squares point to, but this is barely noticeable on Smooth and you don't really have to keep it in mind at all. It's alright on the other difficulty although a bit visually uninteresting if you ask me.
Also on the very minor nitpick note, t's kind of weird that Keiki criticizes Junko for only using circles when there are so many shapes and then proceeds to only use squares (the real dealbreaker here, 0/10 script).
Yeah, it definitely ain't the intended way, cause of that the strategy you have to use for the Lunatic version is _completely_ different
At the same time though, your hitbox is so hilariously microscopic that the way I did it is honestly, easier than the intended route. Getting between the bullets is no trouble at all.
@@MegamanOmega184Yeah the intended way for the first spell is actually fairly tough for what is supposed to be Easy/Normal, definitely much more difficult than the patterns right after it. Although since the bullet paths are telegraphed the main issue I really had with it was a new wave spawning in on me before I could move down again.

What kind of app do you use for editing and/or giving caption?
Recording's done with OBS, and then I edit the footage in CyberLink PowerDirector
The annotations are just made in Paint.net however and saved as image files I add to the video in Powerdirector
Will you stall with single scripts until 17.5 comes out (with the english patch) (iirc it realeases at the same time as the demo of 18) or are you planning on uploading another full game before 17.5.
I debated on it since it was so close, but decided against that. I'm moving onto TSS next Monday and'll play that till completion. After that games done I'll move onto Touhou 17.5
@@MegamanOmega184 So what about 18 (that realeases in may). HSoB took about 1 an a half months. If it realeases before you finish TSS are you planning on tackling it before 17.5 or will you go cronologically with 17.5 first.

If you don't recognize it from the guy who made it, you're probably remembering it from a previous video I did, Alternative Gensokyo 1 - WBaWC by GreenDinobot. They used the same boss theme for that script

For the multiplier question: you are able to increase it, if I remember correctly, it work kind of like in IN: there is a bar in the lower left corner with a arrow that will go on the left or on the right depending if you're attacking while unfocused or focused respectively, grazing while focused and with the arrow on right will increase the blue number and attacking while unfocused and with the arrow on the left side will increase the red number
the value of the mutiplier is red number^blue number
@@shard4155 But the thing is, Mega was grazing a heck ton but the multiplier didn't go up, so I guess I was just confused ^_^'
@@AOGood yes, he grazed a lot in focused mod, and the blue did go up but he didn't shoot in unfocused mod enough to make the red numbers go up resulting to the multiplier staying at 1
