I grew up hearing Carlin, because my parents had some of his comedy albums. Honestly, it positively affected my sense of humor and my ability to think critically. I didn't always agree with his political views, but I always got his humor. He never failed to make me laugh. He was a treasure.
You are lucky. We wish we had him in 2021 to criticise whatever is happening today in the countries
George was NOT Political..he despised ALL Politicians and politics..he was an OBSERVER
and as an Army Veteran, i totally agree with what George said about Vietnam Veterans getting the help they needed if the condition wasnt buried under jargon. and the same thing applies to today's combat Veterans. hell, we still lose 22 Veterans a day to suicides because the help either is not good enough, or doesnt come in time.

I was overcome with joy with this viewing of a prerecorded video of the amazing genius that was previously known as George Carlin who has since passed away and moved on to the great unknown.

George Carlin is the true OG of comedy. You can watch the same routine over and over and still laugh your ass off!
Years ago I saw George Carlin. Not on stage but he was in the audience to see Lily Tomlin’s “Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe” just as I was.
Over 40 years ago, I worked for NCR. We had a category of equipment that we called “OTN” which stood for “Other Than New”.
Gotta love George Carlin. As an American I love the fact that he calls us out on our BS.

Carlin is the man. I used to work at a wholesale grocery store where you pay to have a membership to shop there (many of you know where I’m talking about) and we would have to call our customers ‘members’ because they were a part of our ‘club’ lmao

Exactly, Americans are afraid of speech for some reason. Afraid of swearing, correct terms, logic and reason. And the world in general is way too sensitive about language... Makes me sick too and gives me a lot of anxiety.

I am 67 years old.I walked into a Walmart about a year ago and the employee at the door looked to be about 50. This lady said to me, good afternoon, "young man". I asked the lady why she called me that, she said " cause you are young, aren't you?" I told her that obviously I am not young and and by her saying that she was implying that she was young, I pointed out the fact that although she was younger than me she was still old. and that I resented the fact that she was trying to sound cute by saying that, and I told her it was an insult to older folks to have that said to them,

Carlin, as is common with most very good comedians, stopped being a comedian many years before he died. Most of his older stuff (older as in his age, not in how long ago it was) is just him being a philosopher on stage, the laughter is just a side effect of people realizing his truths. It disgusts me that he tried to tell people the way things were going, and yet we still ended up in the psychotic hell that we live in now anyways.
Honestly the older I get the more offensive I find people laughing at his bits, he doesn't tell jokes, he examines and tears apart the ridiculous inconsistencies of our reality. Laughing at it diminishes what it truly is.
