I remember soloing this 15 years ago. The exposure on the crux is big and the consequences of a slip are terminal. Great video.

Great stuff.... It reminds me when I did the 5 ridges on one sunny day years ago..... I was knackered doing Castle Ridge as it was the last though I didn't follow you're route. 👍

Jeeeeeeesus Christ 😧 Don’t think I’d be continuing to solo after slipping on the crux! 🥴 Maximum exposure there too. Stay safe hombres!

Hi Robert. The rock is quite polished on the crux. Olivier was rushing a little so as not to hold up the guys who had lets us go through, which was his mistake. I hope this will be a lesson to all that watch this " Never ever rush when you are soloing. Everything you do must be slow, deliberate and super precise". If someone is letting you through, it means they are prepared to wait for you to go through safely.
      Cheers.

Bloody hell, fair play to you both, the exposure on the crux was severe and that slip was scary AF. Takes composure and courage to immediately just crack on after that. I would have definitely taken you up on your offer of roping up.....as a mid level scrambler theres no way I would dare to attempt that without protection. Awesome weather you had as well! Great vid.
(Cant help but feel if you titled it 'Close call on Ben Nevis' or some other such clickbaity title you'd get an extra 50k views)

You might be right. Yeh Olivier is a pretty cool customer. He would never have slipped if he wasn't trying to rush. My advice to all is, stay cool never rush it. Also never go up anything you don't think you can get down from, if your not using ropes. We practice down climbing at our local wall all the time.
