Puffy Chocolate Chip Cookies
When I was in 5th grade, my family was going to a party and I was chosen to make a dessert to bring. I decided on a simple chocolate chip cookie. I looked up a recipe, but through the years have altered it to my perfect, puffy, chocolate chip cookie! My family always looks forward to these and they always turn out perfect! I usually have to double the recipe, as they get eaten within an hour… they are that good!
Recipe:
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 stick of cold butter (cut into chunks)
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 teaspoons baking soda
2 1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
chocolate chips (however many your heart desires)
using a handheld mixer mix together… both sugars, egg, chunks of cold butter, vanilla ... mix until the cold butter chunks turn into paste with the sugars and everything is smooth
add baking soda and salt... mix
add flour little at time and use mixer to mix
add chocolate chips and use mixer to combine
roll dough into balls and then put into fridge for at least 45 minutes to chill
set oven to 350°
place the chilled dough balls onto baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes ... let sit on baking sheet for about 5 minutes after taking out of oven ... put cookies on cooling rack
