I’m preparing for my cross country phase and I’m pretty nervous about being alone. I know I can do it but I’m really hard on myself and lack confidence. Watching your video really helped me because of your calm, confident demeanor.
I really appreciate you filming stuff like this and your video editing is wonderful!
doing my first solo xc this friday at 17 years old!! i’m nervous but so excited.
Great Job... getting ready for my solo cx I just soloed my self. Great video!
Thanks for watching the video. Congrats on your solo!!! You should be proud!
Nice Job, Excellent radio skills. One tip I would give you on traffic patterns and landings is add 5 to 8 knots on downwind and base for added safety then nail your speed on final. Try to get as close to the runway without touching it then just hold it off without the nose getting to high, that will stop the ballooning and lead to a smooth touch down. Good luck and be safe !!
Great tip! Thank you! :)
Congrats on your cross country!
Great job. I can tell you are having fun.
Congratulations, awesome. 🙌
BaldEagle thank you!!
Awesome. Nothing like being honest on your flights. It helps a lot. Hope you are still flying 2 years later.
Agreed, self-awareness goes a long way. Yup, still flying, I just have no time to edit millions of videos :)
So proud of you ❤️
Thank you, Mars! 😘
Go Renerose! Absolutely killed it
Thank you! :)
Amazing!😍🤩👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you, Ate Mara! 😊
Subbed lady. Keep your flight videos coming. Good luck!
Nice job! I love watching solo flights. Mine sure had no cameras! I kept all my mistakes to myself. Also nice you were in my area. Say hello to Kevin and Jamie. Either at the field or on the radio.
Hi Ken! Thank you for watching. Mistakes are always a lesson. So, you're from Whiteside, IL?
No I am in central Lake County. My home field was Chicagoland (3CG). Long gone now. I missed a comment/compliment, your radio skills are excellent!
Oh thank you! Appreciate that. Safe skies to you, Sir. :)
I'm glad you posted this but you really shouldn't have tired to rescue that bounced landing, especially with power. Go arounds are free :p
Totally agree with you. That's how I learned my lesson. But glad I was able to make it still. Haha
Nice i feel proud for those wamens be comen great on oll whit onesti make my life so happy know that still good humans ✨
Congrats! I'm preparing for my solo cross country flight in the German Aquila 210; as a short person myself I have to wear cushions to being able to reach the rudder pedals and brakes. Cockpit management is a big deal, I've got limited space to place my kneeboard with my nav log and chart on my leg. I do too always end up throwing the chart on the passenger chair and losing my pens while on it :) :) right now I'm figuring out ways to have all the paperwork organised and available for writing down my check times at all time without compromising flight controls movement during the process!!
I'm late to this, sorry. Thanks for watching! Cockpit management is def a big deal. What worked for me is a right-sized kneeboard (on my left leg) that holds a pen on the side, and tethered so that in case I drop it, I can easily grab the string back. I always re-fold the sectional charts to only shows my route, and I have one piece of paper for ATC instructions/weather with airport diagrams. For notes like maneuver or memory helper, I tape it on my right leg if I have to. I hope you got your license! Safe skies out there. :)
that's alright! well I've got my PPL 2 years ago already and now I am also NVFR rated so it's been a blast, I love to fly and to participate in all things GA here in the country where I live. Cockpit management is no longer an issue, nowadays I manage my EFB, my G500 and paper chart if I want single-handed! I guess it comes with flying experience!! How's your flying going?@@reneroseso5958
My first solo flight was in a Remos GX. Funny enough, N44'7'RA. Fun to take the doors off when it got hot in the California desert.
Galing! 🔥🔥🔥
Salamat, Dave! 😊
Awesome Job!
Thank you! :)
Great stuff.
Thank you!
cool!
Good job!! I am hoping to get my first solo done this week. I fly out of Cushing and Morris. You and I both know how hard it can be to land with a good amount of wind. I would say not to try to save a landing. Just go around because we don't get points for saving a landing. I am sure that by now you are way better at that. Again Good Job!!!
That’s true, landings are hard to master. Yes, I learned from that saved landing a lot. Go arounds are my new best friend. Good luck on your solo! Believe in yourself. And thanks for watching my video.
@@reneroseso5958 unfortunately my instructor had to quarantine this week so I was not able to do my solo and will be out of training for another couple of weeks until he comes back.
That’s a bummer. Better be safe than sorry though. You could use that free time to study for written test also if you haven’t taken already and practice chair flying to retain the skills. :)
@@reneroseso5958 well here is the kicker... I had already taken the written and got a 100%. But of course I took too long and that expired last December. So I am going to just take it again this week and get it done AGAIN!! If it is not one thing it is another.
@@reneroseso5958 I felt like I had to let you know, I did my solo yesterday at Cushing!!
ReneRose So I am going to get my LSS license. Have a friend here in Phoenix that owns a flight school and has the Remos GX 🙂
nice video... not sure why I got it recommended other than I love watching ppl fly :) btw KARR is home of 310 Pilot who I also watch alot.
Thank you for watching my video! :)
That was amazing. Congrats..
Thank you, Mr. Longbottom! :)
@@reneroseso5958 you are so welcome 💖💖
Cool video! Greetings from Germany!!!
Hello! Thank you! :)
great power control awesome!!
Thank you! :)
Ren, loved it! Can you -6.0dB on the bg music please? We would rather hear you and the GX :)
Hi! Thanks for watching my video. Noted on the volume next time. :)
Never be afraid to go around. The second landing at whiteside seemed a bit low turning from base, I'd say extend your base to give you a better view if you're too low or too high. You did great though.
At the time, I took that risky chance to practice how to correct it in that situation, just for once. I did gain confidence after that. But ever since that second landing, I always go around. Thank you for the feedback!
Fantastic, every landing you walk away from or fly away from is a good landing, right? I stopped flying for nearly 30 years due to family, job, etc. but am getting ready to start up again. Have to pretty much start all over, lots of changes in airspace designation, etc. I am a little nervous, but excited at the same time.
Thank you for the inspiration.
Thanks for watching! You're 100% right. I hope you got back to flying!
Omg i was so emotional
Thank you for watching!
Good job! How do you like the Remos? Would you buy it to train and after?
Hi! I like it a lot. Remos flies fast and super easy to maneuver. Something that I would buy in the future. :)
You would do well to give your full attention to obtaining the skills to attain a private pilot license, which is but a license to learn, not an end in itself.
Nice job! My first solo xc was to whiteside too! I think you did better than me lol 😂
Thanks! Congrats on your first solo xc! Whiteside is def rough lol
Is this at City Wings?! Interesting in getting my commercial rating there!!
Nicely done. How soon after your first solo did you do your first cross country solo? Just curious.
Hi! I did my first solo on January 7th, then covid happened and stopped flying for a while. Went back end of May, then first XC on June 23rd. So, 5 months in between.
@@reneroseso5958 Gotcha! Thanks for the reply. This Covid thing delayed my timeline as well. Fly well!
Russ canFLY! Better late than never. Safe skies to you! :)
Amazing solo cross country! I did this exact route a month ago with my CFI. You had to use your E6B during the cross country right?
Thank you! Correct, I had to use my E6B mostly during XC planning and also have it in the plane just in case. Safe skies!
💯👍👍
Great job! Those finals are really short though, I like the extend my finals to about a mile out to really get those buttery landings
Yeah, I totally get what you're saying. My landings now have been better and steadier on the approach. :)
Awesome. Did you use the maps or the GPS?
I did not use GPS (although it’s equipped) during flight for the purpose of training. The sectional chart is my GPS.
Have my familiarization flight coming this spring. How hard is it to obtain a private pilots license? 32 years old and my wife has convinced me to go for it after years of considering
Sorry I'm super late to this. I hope your discovery flight went well or you're PPL by now! To answer your question, the hardest part in my experience is finding the right instructor and having the time to train/study. The frequent you fly, the quicker you learn and retain those skills. I fly and do ground school twice a week during my training, with continued reading during the week. Your progress really depends on how time and effort you can dedicate to obtain your PPL. One more factor to consider is the weather at your home airport, if you don't get VFR often, that will slow your progress. I hope this helps!
You are amazing! Wouldn't be great to see you become a commercial pilot someday and fly a Boeing 787 Heavy :)
I appreciate the kind words! I got my PPL in 2020 which was not a great time because of COVID, it made me switch careers. I'm a software engineer now and still flying when I have the time :)
Getting ready to do this same route very soon any tips would be very much appreciated also wanted to know how old you are I’m 20 and just finished my second solo fight in class d
Congrats on your solo! I’m 26. KARR to KSQI is a good route to start, you’re following along Route 30. For every checkpoint you pick, know which side will they be on either right or left or ahead of you so you know if you’re still on track. And monitor the frequencies surrounding the checkpoint and write it down on your navlog. Example, your next checkpoint is Hinckley, monitor Hinckley airport’s frequency ahead before you pass it because of their glider activity, when you pass it, monitor the next. Stay ahead of the plane. And don’t forget to fill up your fuel to full. On landings, if you don’t feel uncomfortable with your approach or you bounced, always GO AROUND! Don’t save it just like I did. Good luck!
@@reneroseso5958 thank you means a lot🙏

Hello, nice video. Do you have you PPL now or are you still learning ?
Hello! Thanks for watching. I already have my PPL :)
@@reneroseso5958 good job 💪
Did you train on a Remos?
Yes, on a Remos GX lightsport. :)
What camera are you using?
I’m using GoPro Hero 4 and Hero 6.
How did u record your audio with GoPro? Blue tooth or wired?
I used a cockpit recorder cable that plugs into a GoPro and your headphones. Try to look up ATC cockpit recorder on Amazon.
did you take your ck ride yet?
Already did and now a PPL.
@@reneroseso5958 was Gayle Lapook your examiner
No, my examiner was Alan Zielinski.
magandag dilag
Do you still fly?
Yup!
Also if you have not already, check out Nancy Bradshaw on the tube. She is an instructor and airline pilot. Very intelligent, uplifting, and a personality to match.
Will check her out. Thank you for that!
loud music is annoying.
Ditch the music on future videos. I enjoy the intersection with ATC
Yeah, I also realize that. Def noted. Thanks for watching! :)
Would love a pilot girlfriend :-)
Don't need the music - distracting.
kill the crappy music
