- Sri Lankan Air Force (SLAF) fighter jets, Chengdu F-7, SFI-782 & SFI-783 performing a low and close flyby over Runway 22 entertaining the crowd with their LOUD noise during the 66th Anniversary of the Sri Lankan Air Force!
In my point of view, this was one of the best performance of the whole airshow where most of the crowd were surprised not only by their surprise flypast, but also because of the loud noises they both made!

Ah good ol' times. I remember visiting the 66th celebration. Took a ton of pics with my Nikon D70 at the time. Too bad I hadn't put any sunscreen on, I looked like a roasted peanut next day.

Srilankan air force need atlist 8 to 10 light combat aircraft
they have 5 IAI Kfirs & 3 Chengdu F-7s as of now. 5 IAI Kfirs are sent back to Israel for reinnovations & thats why they are not appear in Independence parade 2021. Only F-7s were there

These are Mig 21 fighter jets..not F7
No, these are Chinese F-7GS. Very similar to MiG 21s. MiG 21s are by far different looking, with a much more bigger fuselage and slight differences in the wing. And for the record SLAF never used MiG 21s.
What happened to MIG-27 flights SLAF had in war period?
All grounded as they are not airworthy anymore.

F-7s are not from USA. Chengdu F-7 (export version of Chengdu J-7) is a Chinese built jet & its the licensed built version of the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21
SLAF should buy JF-17 Thunders stop listening to India.
They won't, but they are going to upgrade and restore five Kfir aircraft including the Trainer with modern avionics. Even Mi-35 helicopters will be made airworthy again.
JF-17 is a good jet from Pakistan-China. But SLAF already sent IAI Kfirs to upgrade & restore them
