- Reeling from the aftereffects of the barbaric pogroms of Eastern Europe, Jews in the mid-17th century began to feel a glimmer of hope when the news spread through the world that a Messianic era was soon to begin.
All eyes were on a charismatic scholar and mystic named Shabtai Tzvi, proclaimed as the true Messiah by Nathan of Gaza, a mystic healer. Nathan claimed Shabtai Tzvi would defeat the Ottoman Sultan who ruled Jerusalem and lead the Jews to reclaim their homeland.
Shabtai Tzvi rose in fame and was sought out by thousands of believers and skeptics alike, who wanted to determine if he was the true Messiah or not.
Ultimately, his face-off with the Ottoman Sultan would reveal the truth to the world when Shabtai Tzvi was told to convert to Islam, or die. In a shocking twist claimed as “God’s will” Shabtai Tzvi converted, changing his name to Aziz Mehmet Effendi. Three hundred Jews followed him in converting, and this group, now known as Dömneh, have remained a part of Islam until today, dooming the story of Shabtai Tzvi to be an embarrassing stain on Jewish history.

Although they try to lay low they admit they are shabtai followers. Many of his followers who were the cultural part followed him as a Muslim & are a sect of Muslims who also practice Jewish Mysticism. He had a few key things that was strictly of his Movement thats how we can see these people without them having to admit who they are. To be fair there are people who follow cults from babylon & civilizations that have been gone for thousands of years. To find these things, One simple must search. Nathan of Gaza was not just some “mystical faith healer”; he was one of the foremost kabbalists of his day (whom some modern scholars consider might have achieved the renown of the Arizal had he not backed Shabbetai Zevi). With regard to Ya’aqov Sasportas, it appears that he was the ONLY major rabbi to oppose Shabbetai after Nathan’s endorsement. As for Nehemiah haKohen, he appears to have quarreled with Shabbetai when the latter was imprisoned, but himself converted to Islam immediately thereafter.

@@jd2792 That’s the thing, his arrival is why we don’t need a third temple. The temple was meant for two reasons: 1. A “home” (משכן) for god in the earth, the place where his holy spirit was the most prevalent. 2. A place of sacrifice to ask for atonement for our sins. When Yeshua died, a new covenant with god was made, that made it so the temple wouldn’t be the only place with a major godly presence anymore, but the entire world and even we became temples of god. And there was no need for sacrifices anymore because Yeshua was the ultimate sacrifice for all of our sins forever. And that’s also why forty years later the temple was destroyed. It became a place for exchange of money by the corrupt religious leaders of the time, instead of the glorified temple of god it was before, so just like Yeshua prophesied in Matthew 24: 2, the temple was destroyed and wasn’t needed anymore.

As a messianic Jew (a Jew who believes in Yeshua), I absolutely agree with you that we should accept him back, I did and I fully believe that he’s our Jewish messiah that was promised in the Tanakh. However I do not agree with your premise that WE crucified Yeshua, because it’s not us the Jews who killed him, but ALL OF US, Jews and Gentiles, our sins crucified and killed him, and it was an act of salvation from god. But anyway, I agree with you in general, we’ve been rejecting and denying our messiah long enough, it’s time to accept him back!
