If you're a fan of run 'n' gun platformers, here's a game worth checking out. Dyna Gear features some superb graphics and animation, plus a pretty cool co-op mode where one player controls a barrel-chested wolf creature. I'd never heard of the game before, but having played it, I was really quite impressed.
In terms of story, you play some guy stranded on an alien world, looking for some means of escape. The land is full of prehistoric creatures and dinosaurs, many hostile, although you'll find assistance in the form a tribe of friendly wolfmen and their dino pets.
The game feels and plays much like Ghouls 'n Ghosts on steroids, maybe with a bit of The Astyanax thrown in for good measure. It's pretty hardcore in the later levels, but with visuals like this, Dyna Gear must have been a real draw when it was rolled out on the arcade floor. It's incredibly fast-paced and exciting, something that, unfortunately, drops off about halfway through the game, but it's still good fun.

Back in the days the arcades were saturated by tons of games like these, which is why it's so easy to overlook some of these classic gems. some of these games could be ported to handheld or smartphones. I personally think some of these games still look amazing

Yeah, I see a lot of comments for this game that seem to be based around kids being impressed that a game from 1993 could have graphics like this, but this was pretty standard arcade stuff at the time. I mean, 1993 was also the year we saw the release of _Virtua Fighter_ . It just reminds me how quickly games technology evolved within one decade. It was a very exciting time to be alive.
This is like Joe And Mac and Ghouls N Ghost had a kid together.
There really seems to be no end to weird 80s and 90s arcade games.

Perhaps Wolf manipulated Roger into doing this so that his species and mammals in general could become the dominant species.

This game may be from 1993, but it has a lot of complex programming stuff going on. It is really well made.
Watching you playing this arcade game, it's like watching a cartoon flick 😹😸😺👍. And that golden coin reminds me of MORTAL KOMBAT. 😹😸.

Exploding Dinosaurs and a main character that runs like he's about to take a dump. Seriously though this is a cool game
Between "Shoot me in the back" and that noose hanging from a tree, I'm guessing life on this planet is pretty miserable.

It comes on the KinHank emulator. The one that looks like an NES.
You can see the character hit VTEC after running for a little bit 🤘

So his plan was to alter dinosaurs to fight for him and collect dinosaur DNA to become several beasts? Guessing he didn’t really have an end game there.
Also, what is with that ending? That’s just sad.
The game has two endings. The good ending seems to be only obtainable when playing two player mode.
That main character looks like a male version of Charlotte from Samurai Shodown.
It’s times like this I wish games like this were on modern gaming services and consoles. 😢

Data East would draw inspiration from this game when they developed Spinmaster for the Neo Geo.

Impressive hardware capability for the time. That "hammer" is an awesome weapon, even though it's actually a mace. Never heard of or saw this game back in the day. Maybe it was Japan only or otherwise not distributed in the US?
