Isdang Inon-Onan or Isdang Paksiw

  • We all have different style of making our inon-onan in Cebu or paksiw na isda in tagalog. This is my version of how I make my paksiw na isda. Very similar to my mother of how she makes her but I add a little twist in mine. I use less salt and I add fish sauce to bring more flavor, I add slices of onions to give aroma and more flavor, I add plenty of ginger to minimize that fishy smell and lastly I add plenty of chili peppers to give that nice spicy and flavorful sauce. In cooking there’s no such thing the right or wrong way to cook as long as the food is very tasty and not bland to your palate.
