    Thanks for that Lessons. Still, chords in the Medi window does still a great job🙈

    Great tutorial. Do you have a video that showcases the moods different key tones make.. Like the mood for A, B, C etc. I think dark/forest like to be in D and daytime in G. Can you possibly explain more? Thx

    • @Psiger
      @Psiger  Před měsícem +1

      Personally, I think lower keys make a darker mood. A lot of people say only the scale makes the mood, but for me, there is a logical explanation. If you use a lower key everything centers more around a lower note. Which imho creates a more sinister vibe in itself.

      Also what is another consideration is the relation between the kick and the bass. As most good kicks sound pretty well in G+-1st (not exactly as the kick moves in pitch) and depending on your key the bass sits then on top of the kick drum or below.

    Hi, does the bassline note determine the scale of the track?

    • @Psiger
      @Psiger  Před rokem

      Yes, you also should use this note most of the time in your baseline and more often than others in your melodies.

    I think its better to do this with a with vst piano it's way easier to hear clearly and some synths or some patches within a synth can't play multiple notes at once or don't react on sustained notes

    • @Psiger
      @Psiger  Před rokem +1

      I agree with you this kind of tutorial would have benefited from a simple lr synthesis nevertheless I guess the main info is there :)

      @@Psiger Yes it's fine but it's also helpful to use a piano patch when you're coming up with your chords and melodies etc. because when it's already sounding good and your elements are complimenting each other with just a piano patch it'll usually be even better when you're getting into the sounddesign part. It happened a lot to me that I used a complex patch from the start to come up with the melodies and chords but when I tried to change the instrument I had to realize that it only kind of worked with all the fx etc. that where already on the preset.

    • @Psiger
      @Psiger  Před rokem

      @@wesprog9809 when coming up with melodies I wouldn't agree, I find that each preset works best with certain "melody patterns/formulas". I agree that a good melody works with many patches, but for me certain patches require certain movements/note lengths etc. to shine. E.g. let's assume the patch has nice gate rhythm in it, then sometimes this can play out if you have longer notes, yeah you can model everything in midi there but would this idea then come to your mind on the piano. or if a certain delay or long reverb is in there - maybe it harmonises nicely with certain notes and clashes with others. Sure you could adapt that, but I find it way easier to fit notes to a patch then a sound design to notes. That might be just personal preference in the end. But to sum it up my point is that imho you cannot place any midi pattern on any preset. For me the sound has some properties and I try to bring them out with the notes e.g. if the preset has a nice sound when gliding I will design the notes more like this, if it's more floating I wouldn't go with chopped notes, if it's aggressive I might go with short burst etc.

      @@Psiger You're right. I didn't mean that it will work with any patch but my experience is that the foundation like chords and maybe the lead melody if you don't have anything concrete in mind yet are working later on generally working better together but it's like always that everybody has his unique workflow that suits him best.

    I need your help bro with my music theory when using loops

    • @Psiger
      @Psiger  Před 3 lety

      Why? I would keep it simple and transpose them to the tonic. If it doesn't fit eg because it has a diff scale I wouldn't complicate too much and search for a better fit.

      You probably have Camelot activated instead of scales. Search for Camelot Wheel Rekordbox Setting and you should find how to change the setting. But it's a pretty useful tool, so anyways check out that Camelot Wheel!

    can you explain the cat symbolism in your avatar?...why is this cat symbol so popular in psytrance scene and new age scene?...I know it represent the beast in the bible and the red star is the morning star of Lucifer...but is there more I don't get it?

    • @Psiger
      @Psiger  Před 3 lety +1

      I cannot say much about the meaning of the cats in New Age. My cat is actually a tiger 🐯 (the idea behind is Psy - tiger => Psiger). For myself, the tiger is an adventurous spirit, which trusts its instincts. Also, an animal which can be calm and waiting, but attacking fast and powerful. Like Psytrance calm melodies and then a drop which attacks fast, and powerful. I think it fits quite well with me and this genre of music.
