- We've made it down to the South Island and it is beautiful! Breathe in that fresh Sounds air!!
Docking at the picturesque town of Picton, we catch up with some friends and then head straight into the beautiful Marlborough bush to some stunning low-cost campsites. With windy roads and vistas for days, we get all types of weather before shooting through Blenheim and trekking down the East Coast for some epic bushwalks and beautiful, beautiful South Island beaches!!!

The siren you heard in Blenheim was likely to be the fire siren alerting the fire brigade volunteers to respond. In most towns in NZ, Fire and Emergency response crews are normally volunteers, with only the bigger cities having paid firefighters. The volunteers also get an alert on their mobile phones but the siren is the most common way to let them know they are needed.
