- Despite its weight of 1,860 kg, the Lexus NX300 can give a pretty good account of itself through this bit of B road and twisty bits. Powered by a turbo-charged 2.0 litre and 6 speed auto and AWD, this luxury SUV can be fun too. Note: The funny smell you hear us talking about was actually the paint on the outside of the exhaust system getting fried a little - this was a new car just out of the crate, so to speak. Could it be the saga have engine upgrade? Seems to have quite impressive accelerations.
I think that funny smell is from the palm oil mills in the area, not from the tyres! :D

this should be the exact engine/gearbox combo found on the harrier no? the harrier is around 80k cheaper....and its not lacking in specs also....im not sure if the lexus brand commands that much,well,atleast here in msia...that smell probably bcos of all that high revving in a very low mileage engine....
Hi Nabil, yes, mechanically similar, but only FWD. Of course the trim level in Lexus is way higher. Duties make up quite a bit of the difference.
@8:43 Uncle YS, I was just 1 year old when you dug up that skull while putting up the Shell station in Rantau. By the way, I am driving a NX200t Luxury variant (since 2015) and use Shell V Power Racing fuel.
On a separate matter, I too have been asking Mutiara Damansara Lexus about that "funny smell" you mentioned @ 13:51, while on hard acceleration, but the engineers then could not address the issue. After about a year the smell disappeared.
Happy you liked the Lexus NX model, which I too agree. I always wanted you to take my car (with me) on your popular Genting Run, if your time permits. It would be awesome to see a legend driving my NX200t,..btw uncle....my car also have paddle shifters :)

They are about the same. Mazda has gone a step further to make their cabin my re quiet, and in heavy rain you will hear the difference

Never tested the BMW so cannot tell you.
At 1,860 kg without occupants, this Lexus needs all 225 horses & more importantly all 258 lb-ft of torque to move its weight. I'll let you convert to Nm in your own sweet time. As for the "smell", I have a hunch it's coming from Mr Sim.

The turbo lag on this engine is ridiculous
Actually there is virtually no lag on these vehicles. Most standard vehicles have very little lag, so I cannot understand what you mean

I do not know who that driver is, and do not know if he or she is a motoring media. I assure you most of those who cover motoring on a regular basis are responsible drivers.
