Used to shoot medium formats in both film and digital but phones are pretty crazy now especially with sensor stabilization. Adding high quality glass has impressed me it’s just too bad the bokeh reminds me of nifty 50’s. That and the chromatic aberration is pretty rough. I may lack the willpower to dive into another lens system but cool to see Moments got competition.

I would say the ShiftCam lenses are very good and really more for EDC style stuff, easy to carry. The Beastgrip are also excellent, but they’re more robust and require a cage and so a little more involved to use. You can’t go wrong with either, so really just depends on what style of shooting you’re doing.

Thank you for the side by side comparisons with Moment’s lenses. It confirms something I’ve been thinking for a while. It looks like Moment has been resting on its laurels for a while when it comes to smartphone lenses. I guess they are looking to make their money elsewhere - which is a shame. I had a gold flare anamorphic backordered from Moment from shortly after Christmas until I finally cancelled that backorder last week. Promises were made and promises were broken. I’m thinking they may never have them back in stock again.
I’m happy to see other companies have not forgotten smartphones and these lenses look pretty good - but I gotta say their bokeh looks kinda nervous rather than creamy for lack of a better term.

Is there an phone filter mount that will fit FLUSH on an iPhone 14 pro max with a battery case already on the phone? I had the iPhone 11 pro that you could buy an Apple battery case for that was AMAZING but they stopped production after they brought on "MaGsAfE" technology. For how I shoot and what I want out of a functional lens and filter mount, I'm honestly debating buying a 3D printer and engineering my own. everything out there is clip on (which covers the front of the camera with a clamp) or a built-in mount system that forces you to use a case but takes away the use of an additional battery. Yeah, I could use a Magsafe attachable battery or use an external battery bank but its always "Just add one more thing" and that's not what I want my functional rig to be about. I need speed and adding more bulk or taking time to swap things out isn't what's going to get the shot i want when opportunity is always on the move. If anyone knows anything or is having the same luck I am trying to find this 9'th mobile wonder of the world, throw me a line. PLEASE!

I joined the iPhone camera world world last year but have been shooting with professional cameras for 30 years, the first camera I worked with cost at the time $70,000. What about you?
I am really shocked by seeing that 10 or so reviewers didn't mention the lack of absolutely essential lens caps. And it's the fact that I started using mobile phones last year that makes clear to me that reviews shouldn't be on cheerleading mode. I lost good money sending gear back to the US as I was taping in the dark.
It's depressing that not a single reviewer criticised the lack of the so important lens caps. I guess they were all softened by the $1,200 gift ? Would they be so indifferent to the lack of lens cap if they had paid $1,200 for the kit?
Sandmarc and Beastgrip sell lenses with rear and front lens caps. Moment sells lenses with rear lens cap only but they do sell front lens caps separately and it's really cheap, around $3.
Shiftcam doesn't even have lens caps to buy separately.

Hi. Long time listener, first time caller. I noticed in your review of ShiftCam you used CinemaP3. I was wondering why there isn't one person out there in youtubeville that is covering CinemaP3 the way FilmicPro is covered. One dude, Smartphone Filmmaker, has done a couple overviews, but nothing that compares to the breadth and depth that even he has gone into for FilmicPro. I find CinemaP3 to be the most compelling camera app when compared to FP, it has multiple ways to capture Log, and even with in each type of Log there are levels of saturation that can be controlled by the user. Unlike FP, CinemaP3 can not only record DolbyVision HLG at 60fps, (filmic can only go up to 30fps) but CinemaP3 can capture DolbyVision HLG at 60fps in C or D log! FP can't even do DV HLG at 30fps in any log format. Speaking of different Log formats (not sure if that is the correct word to use here, but you get what I mean) not only is there not one person demonstrating the differences between the A, C and D logs, but there isn't anyone detailing how to color correct, then grade in FCP. I find plenty people demonstrating color correction and grading for S-Log, and C-Log, from Cannon cameras, but there isn't one person going through a real world process of shooting footage on the iPhone, using CP3, demonstrating when to use 709, or the wider gamut P3 (another feature not shared by FP) or HLG, Dolby, HDR and ProRes, then taking said footage and showing how one can combine all those into a timeline and color correct and grade them. There are a couple videos, less than a minute long, put out by Blackburn, and one that is about 100 seconds by Patrick Villars, using DaVinci, that is a very simple color correction. He makes no comment as to the nature of the footage, i.e. HDR, P3, 709, HLG etc... I also see that nobody is really offering any courses on CP3 to purchase. There are quite a few on FP, but the entire reason I use my iPhone to record and edit video is because it is much cheaper (assuming I have to have a phone to being with, than purchasing a camera. That is why I don't pay a monthly fee for Premier. I'm not paying $3/week or $50/year for a camera app. FCP student discount is $199, for FCP, Motion, Logic Pro, and Compressor. Free upgrades for life. Anyway.... didn't want this to turn into a rant, just more of a request. Thanks for your time. Meanwhile, as I get time, which is extremely limited, I will continue my Autodidactic journey into CinemaP3 and using it with Final Cut Pro.

@@iphoneographers That video was a nice overview and was in fact the video that steered me to CinemaP3 to begin with. I’m thoroughly intrigued by CP3, and can’t understand why others strong either. The only feature that FP7 has that CP3 doesn’t, that I can see and remember I have not rented FP7, I’d the new feature that supposedly eliminates the latency when shooting in more robust stabilization modes. Unless, and I say this knowing that it could be true, CP3 is not accurate to their marketing and technical descriptions.(I remember, a while ago, you had postulated that the log mode on the Moment Camera app was not a “true log rhythmic curve”. I done have the experience nor the time to make that determination or others like C-Log vs. D-log, or when to use different saturation levels within the log modes. Thanks for your time and hard work.

Literally all reviews about the Shiftcam LensUltra kit discredit the soundness of reviews on CZcams because not a single reviewer criticised the lack of lens caps in the kit.
I do wonder if those reviewers would be so indifferent to the lack of lens caps if they had paid $1,200 plus shipping and heavy taxes (if outside the US) for the kit.
In any case, I am reporting Shiftcam to the Better Business Bureau.
I asked all reviewers why they didn’t criticise the lack of lens caps. I deleted the question so I will have just this comment here. I think it will be easier to focus on the matter this way.
Two of the reviewers got nasty and threatened me. They didn’t answer my question. A third one said that his kit actually had lens caps!!! But Shiftcam doesn’t even make lens caps!!!
Most reviewers just ignored my question. They know they can't answer my question and keep face as to not criticise the lack of lens caps in the kit is indefensible.
Just two reviewers answered my question. The first one said he doesn’t care about lens cap for the front lens. Still , he didn’t criticise the lack of lens cap for the rear lens.
In any case, that reviewer is contradicting himself because he claims to care only about the quality of image when choosing a lens but the lack of a lens cap will certainly affect the quality of the image as the more a lens is kept without a lens cap the more it will be exposed to dust, debris, moisture, bumps etc. Unless you keep your seven lenses in the carrying case forever and never use them!
A second reviewer said that it didn’t cross his mind as he thinks a cloth pouch is protection enough.
Both reviewers let their personal habits when it comes to gear protection get on the way of providing important information to viewers.
Let’s not forget that Beastgrip, Sandmarc , Reeflex, Moondog Labs and Moment sell their lenses with lens caps for both rear and front lens (Moment provides caps for the rear lens only but they sell caps for front lenses separately )
Doesn’t that fact deserves to be mentioned in a review about the new Shiftcam lenses seeing that Shiftcam is the only company manufacturing professional lenses for iPhone that doesn’t provide lens caps for their lenses ?
Shiftcam doesn’t even have lens caps to sell separately!!!
They don’t care about protecting their lenses. It’s called irresponsible manufacturing.
And I am not referring only to the kit. Individual lenses sold separately will also ship without lens caps.
Some reviewers replied that Shiftcam individual lenses will come in cases. First of all, their reviews are about the kit, not individual lenses sold separately at a higher price per lens. Second, lens cases are not as crucial as lens caps and they don’t do the same job.
Cases don't protect the lens when it is on the phone , for example.
Say you are walking in a park with your phone in a windy day. You are looking for a next place to do some shooting. What do you do? Put a lens cap on the lens and know the lens is protected against debris brought by the wind etc?
Or you take the backpack from your back, take the case from the backpack, remove the lens from the phone, put the lens in the case and back in the backpack just to invert the process 15 min later?
Or maybe you don’t care about protecting your lenses at all? But if this is the case then it's likely that the quality of your work will be pair with your standards and it won’t really matter which lens you use.
I can improvise my own lens case and have two Beastgrip tele lenses (with lens caps on both ends) in a hard sunglass case which easily fits in my backpack or camera bag. But I can’t improvise lens caps, especially for Shiftcam lenses which have a unique size.
Viewers rely on popular reviewers such as the ones who received a free kit from Shiftcam.
They should hear from those reviewers that the new Shiftcam lenses are likely to be the best lenses for iPhones in the market BUT they are shipping without lens caps so think carefully before ordering their lenses.
A protest against Shiftcam on CZcams reviews would send a loud, clear message: Act as a responsible manufacturer and start the production of caps for all your different lenses. Rear and front.
But no reviewer is protesting. This way, I am.
    P.S. I walk my talk.
I bought lenses from Sandmarc, Moment, Beastgrip and Shiftcam last year. I compared them. The Shiftcam tele lens was clearly better than Moment and Sandmarc and a little better than the Beastgrip 2.0 tele.
I sent the Moment and Sandmarc lenses back without hesitation.
I kept the Beastrip and sent the Shiftcam lenses ( I had three) back after some deliberation because they didn't have lens caps and were not compatible with ND filters. I really wanted to keep the Shiftcam tele lens.
I thought that maybe I could live without a ND filter and use the lens just for indoors shooting. But I couldn't live with a lens without lens caps.
To end: Let me state the obvious and list the importance of lens caps according to K& F Concept:
"A lens cap protects the lens from dust and debris. Dust and dirt can build up on the lens, reducing image quality and causing loss of focus. It can also cause scratches on the lens, leading to permanent damage."
It also protects the lens from moisture. "Moisture can cause the lens coating to degrade, reducing image quality."
A lens cap provides a barrier against bumps and scratches.
"It protects the lens from fingerprints and other smudges. Fingerprints can reduce image quality and contrast, so it’s important to keep them off the lens. By using a lens cap, you can keep the lens free from fingerprints and other smudges.” (Interesting here is that one of the reviewers who threatened me mentioned that “The glass on these lenses is so clear every little bit of dust, every little bit of finger smudging …will show up on these lenses like nothing else” . But he doesn’t mention the lack of lens caps in the kit, much less that it is a contra)
They protect the lens from UV rays. "Exposure to UV rays can cause discoloration and fading of the lens coating, which can reduce image quality and contrast.”
Yet, Shiftcam doesn’t provide lens caps for their lenses. Unlike Beastgrip, Moment, Sandmarc, Reeflex and Moondog labs.

I'm amazed you even got your order, almost 4 months and they keep making excuses and no lenses yet.

I think you misunderstood me. I never ordered those lenses. I complained about the lack of lens caps as I knew Shiftcam was shipping their lenses without lens caps (they don't even make them to sell separately). Lens caps are absolutely essential.
I did buy the tele lens from Amazon UK recently and have already sent it back for a full refund. The new tele from Shiftcam is no good. Don't pay too much attention to all twelve (as far as I know) reviews praising the new set of lenses. They didn't pay for the expensive set.
I will be posting a review comparing the new tele from Shiftcam with the two teles from Beastgrip. Both 2.0 and 1.7 when shooting with iPhone 14 Pro, tele on tele, are better than the new Shiftcam tele lens. I was actually very surprised because the previous tele lens from Shiftcam was a little better than the Beastgrip tele 2.0.
I don't know the other lenses from the set but I would strongly suggest this to you: CANCEL YOUR ORDER. Wait for the new Reeflex set of lenses or try the set of Freewell lenses which has been recently released. You can buy macro, wide angle and anamorphic Freewell lenses on Amazon. I ordered the macro and will receive it later this week. If it's not good then I will just send it back for a full refund with no shipping cost. You will need to spend a good deal of money if you decide to send the Shiftcam set back . Better to cancel now. @@lynnfuentas9236
P.S. If you live in the UK then you can order Shiftcam ultra lenses from Amazon UK. Order the tele, for example, and try to shoot objects at 75 cm using the lens on iPhone's 14 Pro tele lens. You will not be able to focus. But you can focus with the Beastgrip 1.7 and 2.0 lenses.
Amazon also has the Shiftcam ultra fish eye, wide angle, macro . And the case, obviously. Buy any lens. You will get it delivered next day. Then test the lens and if you don't like it just send it back to Amazon for a full refund and cancel your order from Shiftcam whilst you still can. I would say cancel it right now but I think it's important that people do their own tests.

Stay away from this company, they take your money and make constant excuses saying the order is ready to ship, but it never ships. Ignore refund requests as well from what others are saying. Going on 4 months since i spent 500 dollars on order. Do not give them your business!!

@@zarex4736 Their reply this morning was that the 1.55x anamorphic lens was still pre-order but they could ship the other two lenses now. I enquired if they had a 1.33x anamorphic in stock. Waiting on a response. I guess if they piss enough people off & don't deliver or refund a class action lawsuit would be the way to go.

Cancel your order and try the new Freewell lenses or wait for the new Reeflex lenses. Amazon UK is selling most lenses of the Shiftcam ultra set for next day delivery. I bought the tele lens and compared it with the 2.0 and 1.7 tele lenses from Beastgrip. Shooting with iPhone 14 Pro with the lens on iPhone's tele (tele on tele). I couldn't focus on objects at 75 cm when using the Shiftcam tele lens from the new ultra series but could focus when using both 2.0 and 1.7 Beastgrip tele lenses.

I know where you are coming from but I don't like to read comments such as yours. I think you could say the same thing but in a more polite way. Besides, he is not the only reviewer. There are 12 reviews on the same line as far as I know.
That said, freedom of speech is sacred to me so I hope your comment will stay on air and won't be reported by intolerant, narrow minded people as I have been many times even if my comments were polite enough.
