    There's something just kinda off about Xdefiant's anims. They aren't particularly bad but i find them just kinda ugly. Siege's anims i honestly really like tho, can't really pinpoint why, they're just good in a way and satisfying to watch.

      I think they're an improvement compared to siege, but I think the screen shake might be making it look unclear and ugly

      Screen Shake and some reloads seem like they could’ve used 2 -3 more frames to make them smoother. There are parts in the animations that seem extremely stiff as well

      The overall hands positiong are bad and there is too many "shacky" effects on camera.

      The core issue is that the animations are at a speed that doesn’t work well with their style. It’s why things look jank and jittery sometimes; they are trying to do semi-realistic motion at an unrealistic speed. It’s the same reason why real objects move weird when you playback video at high speeds. If I had to guess, the designers changed the pace of the game after the animation direction was locked in and there was no time/budget for the animators to adjust their work.
      They also use a lot of forward camera motion which multiplies the jankiness by a lot. The games they are imitating rarely do this and if they do it’s done sparingly to achieve a certain affect, not on 1s animations you do 15 times a minute. There’s a bunch of other little things like this you can pick apart, but I’ll leave it here. It’s well known this game had a tumultuous development and I don’t wanna pick on the work of the artists who probably did their best given their situation.

      The shaky effect and the movement is very rough and stiff is like the operators are on steroids

    Dude, that first shot of R6 vector sounds like a 50 cal while in real the entirety of the gun sound is a chainsaw peashooter

    I really hope they smoothen the XDefiant's excessive camera movement. Otherwise the animations themselves are pretty good imo.

      Slight edit to my comment, i didnt give r6’s sidearms enough attention. Some of them are way more satisfying than XDs, the r6 revolver and desert eagle are some of the best renditions of the weapons in any game, mostly due to how well they made the recoil animations. One way they could have made sidearms better in XD in general would have been to give them the r6 removal of muzzle flip, that would have been sick.

      So XDefiant got a neat detail right about the MP7’s charging handle
      Yes, it’s not MEANT to reciprocate, but on full auto fire and especially with a suppressor on it, the back pressure can sometimes result in the charging handle getting thrown back with the bolt carrier as the carrier reciprocates. Lots of footage of this on CZcams.

      @@theyoloyoyo5802actually mp7s reciprocating charging handle isn’t too out of the question it can happen to poorly maintained mp7s look at garand thumbs mp7s video you’ll see it reciprocating and the one in game doesn’t look too up to scruff

    Hey Fire Mountain, I personally think you are the best creator on CZcams for this type of "game weapons" videos. Since you are able to capture the graphics of any game so well, I would like to give you a suggestion: "Hunt Showdown" is an FPS game developed by Crytek, the ones behind Crysis. The game, despite some fantasy aspect, is famous for his beautiful graphics and animations in portraying "Wild West" guns. There is only one other game that can compete and maybe surpass Hunt Showdown in graphics & animations for Wild West weapons... and it's the first person mode of Red Dead Redemption 2. Considering both games have a large fanbase, I think a comparison video of those two games would have a lot of buzz and a lot of success.

    Xdefiant animations are made with supervision by CZcamsrs (XclusiveAce and the lot) who think Infinity Ward is overrated and think they can do better with janky animations
    Well here comes the outcome

      It's funny, the current trend of overused camera animations comes from Infinity Ward. You'd think if someone feels IW is overrated, they wouldn't borrow the big thing that they reinvigorated.

    Just going by models since both animations idk mid. R6S is Outdated and Xdefiant is too shaky
    P90 - Xdefiant
    Vector - Tie
    Mp5 - Tie since at both it isnt the cringe version of the "LickMaNn SmG" from MW2022
    MP7 - Tie
    Revolver - Tie
    Deagle - Xdefiant
    2 world wars - R6S
    Five Seven - Defiant
    M4 - R6S (I prefer Daniel Defense Block II over colt imo)
    AK - R6s (xdefiant ak without the dust cover as default is just sad.)
    SCAR - XDefiant
    FN Minimi - Xdefiant
    870 - Xdefiant, however both without ghost ring is a sin.
    AA12 - R6S

      i think xdefiant loses on the MP5 for trying to specify a variant (MP5A2) and then modeling the wrong variant (MP5A3).

      R6S animations are awful, the only semi decent ones were the ones made in the early in the game's life cycle.

      Have to disagree. Siege’s animation work is horrible and while Xdefiants is a bit better. The way the animations for that game works is extremely jittery and stiff.

    XDefiant has marginally worse animations than R6S, which already isn’t great.
    They’re trying too hard to be COD without realizing that you should probably actually shoot guns irl before you make animations for them.
