That's great Bruce! Sounds like you are making excellent progress :) Keep on piping on friend!
This was very helpful. Thank you. I love your videos.
You are so welcome! Glad this one was helpful :)
Please please could we have a flowers of the forest workshop👍
I will put it on my list Mark :)
that's a very pretty tune. I'm working on that one now
Yes I accidentally hit my reed and dented it when putting in the top part of the chanter
Oh no! You aren't the only piper who has done that! I have chipped a reed by accident too, that's for sure!
The old reed growl almost sounds like flutter tonguing. If piping involved articulation like more common non-Celtic instruments, that would be really impressive. It is concerning from a chanter though.
Yes, piping doesn't include any tounguing as there is continue airflow from the bag. So in this case all those sounds are coming from a dysfunctional reed! 😚
Did you try using a rubber band? Would that make it easier?
Exactly, another good option!
I want to buy your ebook of sheet music? can you send me a link to that on etsy or ebay? thanks
You can still download the individual tune's free sheet music, but I quit compiling them all into an ebook as I needed to pay for adobe to arrange all the PDFs and it was taking too much time away from music writing... However if you would like to purchase an ebook, I can sit down and update my ebook and send it to you. Here's the link Joanne: bit.ly/Bagpipe-Sheet-Music-Ebook
If you have any questions email me at getbagpipeready@outlook.com
@@GetBagpipeReady okay, that link appears to work. I'll try ordering later today. If you need any help with doing the books, I'd be glad to help you. I do wrod processing and PDF's for a living. I"m a lawyer
I have also written or co authoried numerous books
Amazing knowledge you have Joanne! After you order and I get my 2 ebooks of music to you, I'll be interested to know what you think :)
@@GetBagpipeReady I already bought them for $17 and I have them both. I found your email and emailed you directly. They're great and you could do more, especially the simpler stuff with no grace notes or few grace notes so people can practice on the tunes they already know and enjoy. I do enjoy your videos and teaching is a very high calling so keep it up. you are blessed
@@GetBagpipeReady I think your music book is great. simple easy to play tunes, minimal grace notes. and I love what you said about grace notes--if you can't play them yet (and keep on time) skip them or only play the last note of the grace note. also teach people to "tongue" repeated notes on the chanter to separate notes at first. keep it simple. music books for newbies should have a simple version with few or no grace notes. you're doing great and a wonderful thing.
