With wind noise reduction/removal I've found it's either right behind looking through.. or none... clean air. Looking through the windshield is definitely the quieter option especially at higher speeds.
This particular bike and rider profile seems to include an elevated fixation on windshields Many I see have a glass sail in front of them / sky high Is it the bike design , rider position , some assumed ideal height for the rider and an fjr, maybe helmet design and fit, or a need to convert a motorcycle into a … car
I’m sorry I don’t. I bought it a few years ago for a different bike. If you go on Amazon and search “motorcycle windshield extension” that’s where I found it.
I'm about 5'8" (maybe 5'9") and the pants I wear are a 30" inseam. I have tried to look up my MadStad order to remind me what I actually bought but I can't find that detail and my old-man brain remembers strictly on a need-to-know basis, but I believe I bought the 18" for my Versys X300.
I've been experimenting a lot with windshields on my fjr1300 (2002) and the best solution for me is a tiny windshield. Small enough to give me clean wind when lovered and big enough to give me cover on the highway when I tuck. There's doesn't seem to be a happy place in general with windshields other than small and tuckable. Too high it'll pull your head forwards which is quite tough on your neck. Medium-high creates buffeting on your helmet to some degree. Clean wind is the winner. I don't think you can buy a windshield small enough to be the size of mine. I cut mine down.
No way, must be you, or your setup. Lots of people say they are very happy with the wind protection from the extension. Haven’t heard of the high shield pushing your head forward. That’s a new one.
@@ginoasci2876 I know there's this extra little piece of windshield that you can add to the top of the windshield on the bike; that might be different and actually work fine, but I had a very large one for my fjr and it did indeed pull my head forward at above 80km/h or so. I'm pretty sure there's even physics to back this up. Wind goes over my head and follows the top of my helmet and gets sucked down towards the back of my neck/follows the shape of the helmet. But some wind also goes over the helmet and straight over and doesn't curve down. I'd guess these two different currents interact in a way that creates a push on the back of my helmet, pushing my head forward. I'm not here to win an arguement, I'm pretty damn sure that's what happened when I had the largest single piece of windshield.
@@tomanonym1168 : I get it. It’s like anything in the bed of a pickup gets pushed forward towards the cab and also swirls around and can even fly out. You taught me something new, for that I say thank you !

@@arthurcayer6630 thank you sir! The FJR is just an awesome machine. There's a reason why some bikes keep getting released year after year without major changes. It's because they got it right!
Great video thanks! 🙏
Thank you!

You have a point. In my more recent videos I’ve discovered that less is more.
Thanks for the demo.
The adjustment hardware appears well made n easily adjusted.
Do you recall the brand ?

How tall are you, what’s your inseam and which model windscreen is this?

I find that if I can just look over a windshield it gives me a nice calm place to be. Thanks.
