Visited Marseille when they played Lyon and Valbuena returned for the first time. Absolute massive atmosphere. Would recommend annyone to vist OM.

OM have some of the best fans in world football, was very lucky myself to go to a game there once, great fans.
I went to a Marseille game a few seasons ago, it was just after they lost the Europa League Final. It was only against Angers but the atmosphere was amazing that night too, and they won. The trip to Marseille via Eurostar is an experience too...

Hi, thanks for this awesome look on the match and everything around it. I'm from Belgium and every 2 years I travel more than 1000 miles to go watch the game in Marseille against P$G. So, I was there as well last weekend. It's really an awesome experience if you like giant stadiums and unbelievable atmosphere. There aren't many stadiums in Europe that beat the atmosphere in the Stade Vélodrome. Allez l'OM!

The atmosphere at Stade Vélodrome must be amazing, that's for sure. But when it comes to Ligue 1, I'd prefer the St-Étienne vs Lyon derby any time. Not a giant stadium like OM and no superstars on and billionaires or bling-bling off the pitch like PSG, but a very intense rivalry because St-Étienne used to be a city of coal mining and the working class, while Lyon has the reputation of being a city with some kind of posh attitude, snobbish cuisine etc. So it's not only a derby between two clubs of geographical proximity, but also two different classes, so to speak. Geoffroy-Guichard has got two impressive stands behind their goals, covered in green and white when they are supported by their two different ultra groups, similar to Marseille. No rivalry between them, just complementing each other. And it's a lovely, underrated city, not too expensive, worth taking a trip with the tram from North to South, straight through the town centre. I'd love you and maybe Jodie to go there one day, fingers crossed that ASSE will manage to avoid relegation this season.
