Little gritty after a muddy north Texas gravel ride, but this is the nice sound of a mavic hub laced to 650b wheels. Bike - Jamis Renegade Exploit. Drivetrain - SRAM Apex 11 speed.
They are holding up really well so far. I typically ride singletrack mountain bike trails with them and even hit occasional jumps with them haha. 100+ miles of trail and not even a loose spoke. Can’t say the same for my 32 spoke enduro wheels on my Yeti.
Ferens, usually the sound will get louder with more miles put on. The grease will kinda thin out with wear and therefore be louder. Another way to make it louder would be to pull the driver body off, clean it, then use freehub oil instead of grease. Only downside to that is that it will have to be cleaned and re-lubed more frequently.

My hub sounded exactly the same but when I went for a ride the sound slowly went away, do you know how I can fix it?

I believe it’s 3 pawls, but I haven’t actually had to take this apart to service.

whats the max tire width you can use?
It’s a little narrow, but I believe you could use a 2.2” wide. I currently have 650x47c
