There's generally a bit of swearing, screaming or gibbering though depending on who gets surprised by one.
Nah man, if i try to walk to woolies ill be stopped by a red back and a snake driving a cop car and give me a ticket. Once i tried to run but i ended up in the hospital bcuz they both bit me

That's an easy one they're obviously one of the most common spiders here in Australia, id like to see coyote try and find a mouse spider next time. They are the elusive cousins of the deadly funnel web spider.

Anyone else think that the first spider in the first tire what he called the male spider was just a daddy long legs spider?
They are very common and you can pretty much find them anywhere and everywhere in houses and outside.
No, it was a male red back.
If you look closely, the body
is too long and elongated to
be a daddy long legs.
It was male red back for sure
It was a daddy long legs alright, they shake like that in their Web when disturbed.
The daddy long legs feed on red backs so it's most likely why it's there.
I’ve seen these with big round abdomens in my fuse box here in Perth , West Australia and looking considerably bigger than that. Also get spiders that look for all the world like Black Widows without the back stripe too. There was an otherwise fit 19 year old guy killed by a bite on the neck a couple of years ago after walking through bush at night. You don’t reach into confined spaces here without having a look first and they’re ubiquitous.
Its funny how they place a filming camera in a hole, close the hole, back out, run back to the hole, reopen the hole, stare at the camera, and edit it so that it looks epic

I’m Australian and I’ve had a lot of encounters with red back spiders, I can’t remember where I exactly went with my family, but we sat on a bench, and when we sat up again..... we saw about... 3-4 red backs amongst the the chair...... it gave me a heart attack, I was so scared,,, lol, and the second time this was my brother story from maybe 13 years ago when he was in year 3, he was in a little thing called the bottle green house at our school, it was made of bottles, and he went inside, because his class was doing something in there, and he turned around and there was a red back behind him!
I have only seen one once and I’m Australian
Redbacks love being amongst man made stuff outdoors. I have NEVER seen one in the garden or inside a house
Same thing with Black Widows here in Arizona. They're always setting up their messy webs next to the barbecue, under tables, inside scrap metal etc. They're only likely to be inside the house of a hoarder who has too much junk that lays undisturbed. And they hide away in the darkness until night. They don't bother me much as long as I can see where their webs are and not walk into them.

True
My hands are my eyes lol
I scooped up a handful of these spiders and proudly presented them to my mother when I was about 3 years old.
I've been bitten 3 times by redbacks and didn't get sick at all, twice on the neck and once between the little toes on my right foot. The bite between the toes was the most painful, like 10 bee stings at once. The bites on my neck just formed big hard lumps like ball bearings under my skin.
Yeah, people think there would be such a high death rate, but most average hospitals have anti-venoms for all the deadly spiders in the area

Every Australian has a whole colony of red backs under their barbecue
exactly you don't go into the bush to find them, you go to your garage
under most rocks and in most drains where i grew up there'd be at least one red back hahaha

The pot plants are the most dangerous

Zappas Bappas Leokims videos are brilliant. Not sure if many people on here will like what he tends to do with them though 😂
Got to look for them every time we go in the shed. Every outdoor chair in Australia has the chance to be home for one of these.
3:48 "So there might be a dangerous spider in there and I certainly won't put my hands inside... instead I'll stick my face in there."
Exactly what I was thinking.
Just a tip coyote if you wanna find a red back just go out the backyard or garage of any Australian household and you'll find at least 47:)

Yes, as an Aussie, you grow up with redbacks in the back yard. You will be sweeping webs away from around the outside windows or behind the drainpipes or in your fusebox, and there will be two or three of these little guys. But as many times as I have had my hands near one, I have never been bitten. They are pretty cruisey and don't like a confrontation, so will scurry away back to safety. You'd literally have to have them cornered and be hurting them for them to lash out. Unlike funnel webs, which are less common, but much more aggressive.
Redback boots are awesome. Thought I'd share that, being reminded of them by this video
While you're there exploring. Is it possible everyone here on the net can witness some Myrmecia a.k.a "Bulldog Ants" or Jack Jumpers? They're known to be highly aggressive ant species and carry a toxic venomous bite, yet, are very unique in the insect kingdom. They basically resemble what ant species were back in the more primordial age. Like if anyone wants him to encounter and observe these species (albeit, at a safe distance).
NerdArchives,
one time my dad put on an old pair of gardening gloves without looking inside and there was a jump jack nest and yeah his hand was red and super swelled up for a month
yeah find some jack jumpers they hunt alone and one of the few ant to have good eyesight and will actively attack humans very aggressive
Coyote Peterson, what happened to you getting bit by a giant desert centipede
I've been bitten on the toe by them - twice. OW!!! Those things really hurt!

Redbacks are very common around and underneath pot plants. I've taken photos of very large Redbacks in a side room of my old house. The general rule with Redbacks is as long as you're not disturbing them too much they are no threat, they don't roam around. White tail spiders however are much worse.
