    • @Geordiecrafts
      @Geordiecrafts  Před 2 lety +4

      Drying the moss is pretty simple, I let it air dry for a few days and then I put it in an air tight container with silica beads for a few weeks. I have rechargeable silica. So if it turns dark (which means it's full of water), I'll recharge it during the drying process. That's not always needed though. Overall it's super easy!

    This looks so beautiful!! Are you planning to sell some of your creations online? I think my mom would love this as a gift! And do you have other ways how you make rivers/ waterfalls? I do have uv and epoxy resin, oven and airdry clay, supersculpy, and plaster, among many other things, but I don't have the gloss gel you've used.... I've tried to make one before, using just clay, since I didnt have resin at the time, and that ended up looking like a monster arm on my sculpture 😂😂
    Maybe you can make a video with all your favourite products and ways how to make something in the landscape? (I don't know if you've already made one, I saw your post on Reddit and I haven't seen any of your other video's yet. This isn't a thing I demand you to do ofcourse, it's just an idea!) In any case, I love what you do, you're really talented! I can't wait to see what amazing things you'll make next time!

    • @Geordiecrafts
      @Geordiecrafts  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks so much! Unfortunately I don't sell anything online becuase these pieces take 50 - 100 hours to complete and I work a full time day job. I can make one diorama every 4 to 8 weeks at most so opening an online shop isn't really feasible. Right now I'm focusing on improving my skills and learning to film the process.
      I've only ever used epoxy resin for my water and this was actually my first time making a waterfall so I have limited experience there haha.
      I do plan on eventually making tutorials, but I want to gain more experience and confidence in my work first. I'm working on another project now that should be finished in about a week so stay tuned! (it's an older one I started about 8 months ago but it got put by the wayside for a while :p)
      Thanks again for checking out the video, more to come! :)

      @@Geordiecrafts Ohh, yes, that's understandable ofcourse!
      You're really talented, and it looks so pretty what you've made, so I thought you were doing this professionnaly, especially since you're using so many different techniques. Since I know now how long this took you, it seems impossible indeed.
      I also didn't know it was your first time making a waterfall. It looks like you've done it so many times before!
      I'm looking forward to your turtorials, I think I, and many others can learn a lot from you. I'm also looking forward to your next video, I can't wait to see what the next project is! :)

    i said it over on imgur but i'll say it here too, this is absolutely stunning! i'm so jealous that you have the time and ability (creatively and physically and mentally) to make all of this from scratch. i used to be super creative, but it turned out i've got a genetic condition (ehlers-danlos syndrome) that leaves me tired and in pain and unable to concentrate most of the time. sitting at my work table usually doesn't work for more than a half hour or so, sadly. but honestly, seeing this is inspiring. i just need to find the right project to work on (and that i already have materials for lmao). i'm definitely subscribing, this was a really excellent video!

      I remember learning about physical therapy for Ehlers-Danlos in school (I have a kinesiology degree) and I can't imagine what it's like to suffer with it. I'm so sorry you have to go through that :(
      If you look around and try different methods you might be able to find a way to hobby that works for you!
