Home Free are chameleons. They can sing in multiple styles, R&B, gospel, rock, doo wap, and rock. End of the Road is a Boyz II Men song that Shawn Stockman gave a thumbs up to Home Free.

Adam Rupp, the "Sound Professional" for this group is way beyond being a beatboxer. Wait till you hear him not play the harmonica. He's epic. Tim Foust is one of those basso profundo singers who can do speaker blowout lows, and all the way up to tenor, all in one guy!
Though they tend mostly to country-flavored pieces there is plenty of other genre, including soul and blues. Your ears will thank you forever to hear them do "When A Man Loves A Woman". Just outstanding!

Home Free is an upper-level acapella group with tons of talent and a sense of humor. If you like beat boxing, watch their live video of Adam Rupp's (the beat-boxer) drum solo. For a good laugh, get yourself Rick Rolled with their cover of "Never Gonna Give You Up". They introduced excerpts of this as an April Fools joke by tagging it into 3 or 4 other songs they released that day. The people loved it and they released the full version right afterwards.

They are considered country acapella, but they do a good variety of styles. They are noted for their humor....and talent.
Their cover of "End of the Road" is amazing.

If you're just getting to know these guys, you should hear their "Man of Constant Sorrow" cover. It's epic.
Like you, I'm not a huge country fan either. But these guys are so talented and they branch out into other genres (sometimes putting a country flare on the music, but even making a country tune sound less so (Ring of Fire cover)).
    Enjoy the Home Free journey.

The greatest compliment of any musician group can receive is when other artists want to work with them. So far, home Free has worked together with Kenny Rogers, The oak ridge boys, Lee greenwood, Don McLean, and various other artists. Vocal musicians just want to sing with them! Each one is very talented and can actually sing alone or as the lead in a song as they often do! They all know how to beatbox and often do in some of their songs! They are a tremendously talented and well followed vocal group! Welcome to the rabbit hole!

These guys are great, my favorite a capella group. They do a lot of country but many other genres as well. For non-country, try When a Man Loves a Woman and End of the Road. They're all great singers but Tim Foust, the bass singer, has a five-octave voice range that's incredible and Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, is fabulous. I can't make a song recommendation without also mentioning Man of Constant Sorrow. Enjoy!

Brothers in Arms, American Pie featuring Don McLean, One-Man Band, Sea Shanty Medley, Take Me Home, Country Roads (sung as a ballad, it's really stunning), & Dreamer live from the Ryman featuring Texas Hill. Enjoy the ride brother

Home Free is my favorite a cappella band by a country mile. They are very versatile. For pure harmonies check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art or Seven Bridges Road. For beatboxing that will blow you away check out ADAM RUPP'S DRUM SOLO - the one where he's wearing a red plaid shirt has the best sound quality (recorded by a fan in the audience). When a Man Loves a Woman is outstanding in every respect. Really, everything they do is gold! Thanks for reacting to your very first Home Free. Cheers!

Welcome to the world if Home Free. I haven’t seen anyone tell you yet (and if I am wrong I sincerely apologize) who is who, so:
Chris Rupp - cowboy hat in this video sometimes other hats in other videos, sang lead on the “Country Girl (Shake it For Me)” section. Sings baritone with a bit of bass on occasion.
Adam Rupp - Brother of Chris (they founded the group back in 2000), beatboxer but sings tenor when he does sing. The Rupps are from Minnesota.
Rob Lundquist - glasses and beard. Sings tenor. Considered the best singer in the group by the other guys. He was doing the whistling. He is from Minnesota.
Austin Brown - high tenor. Originally from Georgia.
Tim Foust - bass. Originally from Texas. Tim has a 5+ octave range.
Adam Chance (usually called Chance to avoid confusion with Adam Rupp) -
Baritone/bass. Has a 4+ octave range. Originally from Alabama (born in Florida)
Chance joined the group in early 2016 when Chris decided to go his own way. Chance had been singing bass in another group prior to joining Home Free so he covers the bass line if Tim sings lead. Like Chris, Chance often wears a hat in videos and on stage.
There were other members before the group settled into their current form. Chris Rupp has his own CZcams channel and has been posting a series of videos on the history of the group.
Although they are known as the world’s first country a cappella group, they don’t limit themselves to just they style of music. Some of their songs will make you laugh, some might bring you to tears, and done may just give you energy when you need it.

This is such a fun mashup of songs. Very cleverly done from one song to another. The talent these guys have is phenomenal. They have so much fun but the vocals never suffer. And Adam's beatboxing is on another level. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. Keep up your journey through Home Free. You will not find a bad song.

You haven’t seen anything yet! The Home Free rabbit hole is endless. And although they are billed as country, they can literally do anything. Adam Rupp, their beat boxer, is a world champion. The high tenor, Austin Brown, has an education in musical theater. Rob Lundquist, tenor (beard guy) can melt your heart or belt out soul with same degree of talent. Adam Chance (goes by Chance) is a fabulous baritone/bass. And Tim Foust, bass, has a vocal range of over 5 octaves and has been known to blow out speakers on some of his low notes. Enjoy. Great reaction! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are billed as country but can sing any genre, and they do. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. There are so many songs to choose from. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They also just released Unchained Melody. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Robb Lundquist (beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! I just subscribed!

So, no one has recommended a song that is wrong. All r great choices. One song that has not been mentioned to stay away from for now is “Mayday” it is a great song, but don’t do it until you get to know the group and learn who they are and what they do. Glad this made you laugh & loved your reaction. I love this video showing their "goofball" side but this is an older video before 2016 when the co-founder, Chris Rupp (guy in the cowboy hat) left for a solo career. He & the "beat boxer" (championship vocal percussionist), Adam Rupp were the co-founders of Home Free in 2000. Chris Rupp was replaced by Adam Chance (called "Chance" since there are now 2 Adams). Their incredible vocal talent never suffers even when they're being goofy, but I wish you'd heard their more serious side BEFORE you were introduced to the "Butts Medley", such as "Brothers In Arms", "Man of Constant Sorrow", "Helplessly Hoping", "In The Blood", "End of the Road", "How Great Thou Art" or "When A Man Loves A Woman" for starters. After learning their names & what each guy does in the group, then you can react to one of my very favorites, "Mayday" & more of their goofy videos! Home Free will never disappoint, I promise! 😊

Once upon a time there was a tv competition program called the Sing Off. Pentatonix won on the 3rd season and Homefree on the 4th. The show steered Homefree out of general acapella and branded them as country. It has worked well for them. They do other genres as well just all acapella. It's a discipline really. Pentatonix is pop and Voiceplay is more musical theater but all of them can do all of it.

R&B - END OF THE ROAD by Boyz2Men, Soul - WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN by Percy Sledge and LOVE TRAIN by the O’Jays, Rock - BORN IN THE USA, B Springsteen’ and Dire Straights BROTHERS-IN-ARM (very highly recommended). Comedic/funny HILLBILLY BONE by Blake Shelton and CHAMPAIGNE TASTE ON A BEER BUDGET (Home Free Original written by bass singer Tim Foust) this just scratches the surface they have over 150 video and release new songs every few weeks. Home Free fans are called Home Fries and are extremely loyal. They flock to reactors who regularly reacts to them. Man of Constant Sorrow and/or Boys II Men's End of the Road are good places to start. Very different genres but both have all 5 guys standing fairly statically so you can get a good idea of who usually does what (so long as you can get used to them changing hairstyles slightly). That said, 4 of the 5 guys will lead in any given song. Adam Rupp is the main beatboxer (though all can beatbox if needed). On more old-fashioned arrangements (like hymns) Adam Rupp will sing instead of doing vocal percussion but he doesn't like to lead except as a percussionist. He does a "drum solo" in every live performance.

Blue Ain't Your Color is great. How about their collaborations with the greats: Children Go Where I Send Thee (Kenny Rogers), Elvira (The Oak Ridge Boys), and American Pie (Don Mclean). Some may request Mayday but please wait on that one until you're more familiar with who is who and sings in what range. Their 2021 and 2022 Valentine's Day gifts to their fans were I Swear and Make You Feel My Love. They both were done sort of tongue in cheek/serious, which make them totally hilarious. Just around the same time the group released their video for Unchained Melody, 13 months after their high tenor Austin Brown released his version with Steven Martinez on guitar. AMAZING!!! Speaking of amazing, Austin Brown lets hie musical theater training shine with Bring Him Home for Les Miz, with Sebastien Douyon on piano. There are 3 versions of Your Man you should check out. The first is subtitled (LIVE) but has no audience. The second (Crazy Life Tour) is from a live concert. The third is part of at 27 minute concert clip with several additional numbers. This may be too long for a react video but please do not pass up on Home Free Concert Morrison, IL 8/19/15. Well, it looks like I got carried away again. There's just so much great HF stuff. You absolutely made my day with this! I was never that into country either, but Home Free is my happy exception to the rule. I know others will have recommended them too, but I think you might like VoicePlay as well -- they recently dropped a cover of "We Don't Talk About Bruno".

Do How Great Thou Art. Pure beautiful harmonies. Maybe Unchained Melody next. Then Mayday to see their vocal range and versatility. But you can just pick anything they do and you will never be disappointed.

I'm not a country fan either. They do covers of other genre..... They r fun. Pentatonix & Home Free won a former show the Sing Off. Tim Foust is ur man for the base. Love them. Man of constant sorrow is usually the introduction video but u mention thong song ....

Home Free is the best--period. They are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves. They lean country but are far too underappreciated for the wide range of genres they cover. They can do extremely serious (check out Brothers in Arms) but don't take themselves too seriously--as this video proves. LOVE Home Free❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
This video was an April Fools' video from 2015 . (Eric "Buegs" is one of Rob's good friends. His short overalls is a reference to Maddie & Tae's video called "Girl in a Country Song". Check it out--makes Buegs' antics here even funnier 🤣)

Wow, what a choice for their first song! This was an April fool's release back in 2014. HF is amazing! They are primarily country and have over 160 covers and original content but they also do pop, gospel, R&B, old school classics... Very patriotic. Try their God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie with Don McLean, End of the Road or Alde Lang Syne. If you like live, watch Adam Rupp does a drum solo. He will blow you away!

They do this at practically all their concerts. Also, for a great beatboxing video, check out 9to5 Breakdown. Adam Rupp (beatboxer) sings tenor instead of beatboxing in several of their videos... Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art and Brothers in Arms. You can't go wrong with anything you choose, but make a note to wait for Mayday until you're pretty familiar with the guys... you'll be glad you did.😊

  • @lisaseverance6785
    @lisaseverance6785 Před 2 lety +1

They call themselves country but they kind of fell into it due to the Sing Off Competition TV Show. They weren't really sold on the country thing at first but realizing that no one in country music was doing A Capella...that kind of helped them decide. So they ran with it and while they do country songs, they do a wide range of music other than country. They can give a song a country feel...if they want to. All have musical/singing training of some kind ranging from Musical Theater to Operatic so they can seriously do about any kind of music, like they showed in this one. Man of Constant Sorrow is the starting point for a lot of reactors but I will warn you, it is definitely old time bluegrass country but they modernize it in their own way. If you want to check out non country songs, check out "Can't Stop The Feelin' Workin For A Living, Castle On The Hill, End of the Road, When a Man Loves A Woman, Love Train, Sunday Best, Never Gonna Give You Up (Their April fools joke on the fans last year). There are more that I just can't think of at the moment! LOL Plus they don't shy away from adding their own sense of humor into their videos as you have already seen.

Actually, if you want amazing check out I Still Haven't found What I'm Looking For by Peter Hollens feat. Home Free. This was one of several videos the group did during quarantine with the added bonus of their's and Peter's Patreon members from all over answering their invite and sending in videos of themselves singing the chorus. The guys were filmed in and around their own homes in Minnesota, Nashville, and L.A. Other great quarantine videos are Quarantine, Meet In the Middle, Down To the Honkytonk, Sunday Best, and Folsom Prison Blues. Austin was in the studio for When A Man Loves a Woman with his lovely lady Amberly behind the camera while the other were at home.

Check out their live performance of “Bring Him Home” from Les Mis. Austin Brown their high tenor has his own channel and, does this by himself. Beautiful. Also God Bless The USA with Lee Greenwood and the US Air Force Band. Diana Ross of the “ Supremes “ heard them and called them and asked them the perform at her 75th birthday party. They did. Kenny Rogers called them and they did “Children Go Where I Send Them”. He put it on his last Xmas album. Enjoy.
