I worked fast food in another life... The making and breaking of the product that goes to the consumer is definitely on how management operates with the majority of emphasis on proper training, hiring and keeping on top of employees and try making it a place with decent morale. A good thing to help morale is treating employees with respect and paying them a little bit more than the competition and other options they could be lured away from. You'll get far better consistency if these rules are applied. Where there is a lack of leadership you will find chaos and crappy employees that go rogue doing things that will give the whole company a black eye when their behavior is exposed. Chick Fil A will tend to be on the better side of things because they vet owners (who can only own one single store) so they don't view their regional locations as just money making machines and view problems as something they don't need to deal with. In N Out is family owned and have high standards. I'm not sure about Shake Shack enough, but McDonalds, Burger King, Dominos.... you can get a serious mixed bag with those last 3. Seriously, you can get a whopper and say "Wow, that was good" and go to another location and have one of the worst things you've ever eaten in your life.

Where as at Shake Shack, especially in Hollywood, they don’t really care about their produce, I’ve seen the prep people never clean the lettuce properly and never follow simple procedure to make sure the produce is clean before it goes on you’re burger. Idk up to you guys let me know
What? I dont care about Shake Shack, but In-N-Out has some of the worst produce I've ever eaten. Tomatoes are always pale and unripe on the inside of the burger. Not juicy or red like how a burger tomato should be. Lettuce choice is personal preference, but in my opinion, iceberg is a terrible choice in a burger. Takes away too much taste and in In-N-Out they overload the burger with it to be thicker than the meat itself. Pickles are mediocre so I have nothing to say on those. Really im in awe about the tomatoes though. They are objectively trash and I don't get In-N-Out for that reason.

I’m for the east Coast and I visit Grants Pass, Oregon about once a year and one of the first things my husband and I do is hit the in and out. Before it opened it was the one in Medford.
The Smokeshack burger is my favorite burger period. So damn delicious with those cherried red peppers. I crave it every time I'm traveling to a place that has that beautiful neon green burger sign.

Traveling to Phoenix couple times a year, I'm a true catastrophic fatass when it comes to In-n-Out. I land and I drive straight to the joint 6 bolocks away. Then I figured out the recipes from some research online. Love being able to make them at home.
I love them both. I'm on the east coast, so all I can get it Shake Shack and I'm not complaining. When I do get to the west coast In N Out is my 1st stop. Double Double mustard fried every time. Choosing a favorite is too difficult.

Their fries are a little underdone by most people's opinions. If you like your fries to be more crunchy ask for them to be cooked well done and they'll double fry them. That puts them on par with McDonalds fries.

I love them both. I'm on the east coast, so all I can get it Shake Shack and I'm not complaining. When I do get to the west coast In N Out is my 1st stop. Double Double mustard fried every time. Choosing a favorite is too difficult.

Animal style fries are California Poutine. It's also the only way to get them because otherwise you're just eating wood splinters, blech. They called the fries right. As presented, In N Out is the way to go. If the fries are plain, go with the krinkles.

Their fries are a little underdone by most people's opinions. If you like your fries to be more crunchy ask for them to be cooked well done and they'll double fry them. That puts them on par with McDonalds fries.

I just feel like in n out and shake shack can’t be compared, in n out you can get an amazing burger +fries drink for like 3 bucks 😂 shake shack you’re gonna walk out spending a minimum of $13, they’re both good, but ones a fast food joint, the others a restaurant

After liking In-N-Out for many years... and after living in Texas for 3 years... haven't touched In-N-Out since I tasted Whataburger
I've had pretty much every fast food burger and would take Culvers and Whataburger over In-N-Out any day.
