Really like what Kershaws been doing with their designs lately. Fresh and new in the knife game.
Love the explanation for a Launch over a box cutter! I carry a Yojumbo and 100% agree. Steel type, lock type, heat treat, grind, these are all factors in a knife choicd BUT let's be honest, so is "Because I thought it was cool asF" Half (or more of) the tasks I use my knife for could be accomplished with a gas station folder. But what fun is that :-D
I'm happy they finally put deep carry on a Launch series knife. Deep carry is a must now days.
I really dig this knife. Just ordered one this morning. I'm also glad they decided to keep the lettering on the pocket clip blacked out. I hate having that billboarding that Kershaw likes to do.
Cool knife, it's different than anything else in my collection and that's a good thing 😎. I will add this to my bucket list 🍻
A tradesman's exchangeable bladed utility knife will always be my preference when doing actual work (hanging drywall/insulation/tile work ect...) But when it comes to general light/medium duty cutting, a beater knife with a full handle and a decent blade steel is just more versatile and comfortable to use. I always say, use the right tool for the job.
I have had a Gerber Emerson Auto fire in the right hand pocket before, but due to the blade lenght & blade throw it really didn't do an damage, even when the safety was on, so it Could happen.
Looks like a good slicer. Is it thing behind the edge?
The Launch 13 is a great knife to giveaway because of the unique design. I buy mine from Blade HQ. I always have the person's name engraved on the front side of the blade.
Love my Launch 13. I also got a launch 10 and that lil thing is great too.
No way, you need to spend a little time with 8, it's the dagger type modern version of the Italian stiletto and is the quickest firing lil speed demon and is almost as fast as an OTF. It's a good looking knife and is also super light for bug out situations. I love mine and also own launch 7, it's another one you should also examine closer. It hits strong and with authority, you really need to give them a chance or you will lose out on a couple of really good knifes. I also really like it's ergos, but it seems that the spring isn't quite as strong in it and is pretty slow. I've been planning on getting it next, but won't be a for a while because I just ordered a microtech OTF last week and will probably get it after Christmas sometime. Before it though, I'm getting an auto coyote tan hogue sig sauer and will be a nice addition to the collection
Have a chance to pick one of these up for 90 bucks. Second hand. Is it worth it?
I own this Launch 13 and I can say without a doubt this is the best EDC! Just phenomenal 👏
Such a wicked looking knife and I like it lol. Speaking of box cutter though, have you seen the D rocket design KatanaX? It's a manual otf that is like a box cutter mixed with a normal knife. Very interesting looking knife.
Their launch series is very nice. I’m considering a 7.
I don’t see a link for the launch 13
I went on a hike with my launch 13, it deployed in my pocket and poked my leg. No severe injury but the moral of the story is don't share the same pocket with your auto knife and keys.
For me, it's my only Launch model. Love it. The others are fine, but must admit that this one stands out! 👍🗡️
This Launch 13 just might be a little Christmas present to myself.
Did you get it?
@@christophergarcia636 no, it felt weird in my hand when I tried one.
End up with 1?
@@gruntspy44 no, I got some H&K OTF’s.
I have the launch 1 the bareknuckle and natrix xL I want a launch 5 or 6 and 7
Is cpm 154 different then 154 cm???
This knife reminds me of the Bareknuckle kind of except it’s an auto!
One of the best things about Kershaw is they have blade replacement on the Launch knives for $17 I've had 3 different knives blade replaced
So few affordable Wharncliffe blade auto knives. I love this.
I don't care about PA knife laws I'm getting this and I'm gonna edc it lol
I was so put off by the aesthetics at first but when I started considering the ergonomics, the weight and the utility of the blade I realized I had to get one and I do not regret it. It's my ultralight of choice next to the Pm2 LW. Iv considered putting a forward choil on it as well. Wouldn't need to even take off that much material
Is it worth it
@@yamahaguy1732 I like it. Though as far as my collection goes it's probably on the bottom of my list
@@AscendedLife1 I’m looking for a nice looking knife that feels good any recommendations
@@yamahaguy1732 depends on how much you want to spend. In terms of knives that ergonomically feel good and look good the Spyderco Shaman can't be beat in terms of ergos, but the CRK Inkosi is also way up there.
@@yamahaguy1732 Spyderco Manix 2
I have been a Kershaw fan for a 30years.
Just bought this knife and love it, the only downfall is the pocket clip. The first part slips fine over jeans, it’s the end with the screws that get held up on the pant pocket. If they would have recessed the screws it would have worked. Just ordered a different clip off Etsy, so we shall see how that works.
I recently purchased one of these, the damn thing is dainty. The handle is so narrow that it makes all but the simplest tasks a chore. I guess on the bright side it doesn’t take up much pocket space..
Hey, I have been watching your videos the past few months and have loved them. I just want to know if you let anyone send you knives for review and how I could do that.
I asked the same question, I think we'd have to get on Instagram... Damn kids and their music 😆
Deep carry , wharni. Cpm 154 ( not 154 cm). And did I say , deep carry. Love it. Great review MC
Edit: The following is my path from not liking this knife to kind of wanting one in (for me) record time:
I see people saying they like the design of this, but it looks way too busy for me. The shape of the handle looks like someone threw some black paint on a canvas & used the blob layout as inspiration.
That being said, it's definitely different than a lot of what we see. So I'll reserve final judgement for when I actually handle one myself. I could see something weird like this growing on me. Definitely a conversation starter at the very least.
Edit: This is so weird, after watching the entirety of the video & getting a really good close-up view of the knife, I've immediately warmed up to it. I can't remember this ever happening before. I might legitimately want to check this out. This entire process of "too busy" to "I might want it" has been a total of seriously like 5 minutes.
Thank you for accompanying me on this journey, apparently, LOL. 😆
(As an owner of this knife and collecter of many different knives) I’ve always been attracted to knives that look different/busy, spacey/futuristic, whatever you prefer to call it but they do tend to have a less then comfortable to horrible feel ergonomically in the hand then the more simplistic and/or traditional designs. This knife though I assure you is not one of those despite it’s looks. Kershaw did a good job with the chamfering on the handle with the cuts on the finger grooves being more gradual then steep which would otherwise make it feel sharp in the hand. No hot spots. The tip of the clip might be considered to some but let’s be real. You’re not going to get a custom and completely comfortable milled clip on any production knife and it’s no worse then any basic clip you’ll find on your Spyderco or Benchmade. Enough handle for large hands too. Any less and it wouldn’t be adequate. It is surprisingly comfortable in hand despite it’s looks. I was surprised. They nailed the jimping as far as texture/amount and placement too. It’s a hard knife to hate once you get your hands on it and considering it’s length, weight and slim feel in your pocket. Definitely the best of the Launch series so far IMHO(The 11 comes close but it’s just that much too small for my taste in blade length).
The same thing happened to me.
Wicked Sweet KL13 !! 🤘🏼🦾🤺
You said it Right as I was typing this but yeah I thought not isham but Alexey Konigin might have been the designer or how ever you spell his name lol definitly looks of Russian heritage
Can't decide between this and the launch 6
Cool knife, I wouldn't have a Spiderco if it was given to me.
Dude, what are you talking about? Every own a yojimbo or a para 3?
Thanks
Are all of them come with a hard to press launch button?
I didn't have an issue with this one at all. Very easy to actuate
My favorite knife.
Love it
Now this is a review
I like it. A lot.
The 13 gives off Star Trek villain vibes lol
I was getting more Batman vibes.
The launch 1 should be reviewed by you
It seems a bit like your not a fan of Kershaw. This is as good a knife as any 500$ automatic I own. I was blown away and Highly Recommend! I have seen more videos since making this comment, and do have to say he isn't biased. He just disagrees with me, and thats perfectly fine.
I liked the design and the blade shape but when I got one the ergonomics were atrocious, and the blade has a leaned back angle which forces you to raise your elbow up really high to apply the tip to your work which defeats the whole purpose of that blade shape. It was also too tiny for me overall. I sent it back right away.
It looks like a spaceship made a baby with a knife
Geez. Why all the hate on utility knives?? Geez. Jk. Looking forward to getting one of these....thanks for the video!
I figured you would be a Launch 1 guy.
I have a Benchmade Claymore 9070bk I'm really disappointed the action is not smooth for $253 after Tax and it's really the button it's sticky I even took it apart cleaned and reassembled I'm upset I'm gonna either get a Kershaw 13 or Benchmade Adamas I haven't decided I'm tired of giving money to Benchmade and being disappointed!!!!
Why dont you just use a box cutter! I'm rolling right now there's know way 🤣🤣
Wow 7 cracks em much harder than that and hits way above its weight, it out slams knives much larger with authority and has less to do with price as much as application
100% correct,box cutters are boring.
Just wait till you get to your 40’s, then you can can acceptably say ma-bobber after things too.
why would there be an argument over whether to use a box cutter or a knife?? Use whichever the hell you prefer...use an old shoe of you want, who cares?
Batman knife
Heighth is not a word, it's height. Just sayin'
I really wish they didn't put auto on the blade. Cops are dumb, just not that dumb.
this was a crappy unboxing video ha ha ha just kidding
First
