Sure, a normal person can cause harm but a mutant's potential for harm is unfathomable. It’s the theme song just as she flies out of the fire that adds a level of aesthetic chill or weight to the scene for some reason. It’s really a well done ending.
I had read an interview with Beau DeMayo around the time of the first couple of episodes where he said that this episode was basically the fulcrum of his entire pitch to Marvel, but of course he didn’t hint about what was to come or give any spoilers. I knew from that interview that it was going to be big, but I had no clue just how big. After I finished watching the episode, I had to just sit for a moment and take stock. It really is one of the best episodes of any half-hour show I’ve ever seen. Also Magneto yelling ‘THEY SHALL BE AVENGED!’ with tears in his eyes while lobbing an entire freakin’ train at a sentinel is just so badass.
In the comics about 16 million mutants died in Genosha, half of mutantkind at that point alongside hundreds of humans, as they were allowed to live alongside mutants

The best depictions of Magneto are the ones that actually leverage the character's heritage and trauma as a genocide survivor. That small section of the episode was incredible and heartbreaking. Peak writing and cinema. It's better than the shit going on in the comics, with Magneto partnering up with Red fucking Skull of all people.

a problem i have with this show is that sometimes the characters smile and quip at inappropriate moments. Rogue and Gambit are surrounded by ruins and corpses, they should be not smiling and quipping. Fighting villains in many other circumstances, sure, but this is a terrorist attack. Even MCU movies get serious when civilians die on screen
No, it's ultra-hard plastic. The closest real-world analogue would be PEEK, but this is Marvel, where material science is so far beyond what we have in real life that plastic can replace metal and metal can be literally indestructible (see vibranium).

The yellow triangle was used to identify Jews and the upside down triangle above it had different meanings depending on color (immigrant, criminal, gay and so on). So, you know, horrible (as that specific configuration was probably designed as mockery by the Nazis), but historically accurate and not meant to erase Magneto's Jewish background

Genosha is the worst event to happen to mutants in nearly every canon, and this was the first time it felt like a mutant genocide.

The animation and setting look so cool, but the voice acting is not doing it for me. It's so stiff and bland for the most part. It definitely has the horrible 90s VA vibe (outside a few outliers).

Eh kinda lame, I would expect an epic rage moment where he like calls every metal beam, train, pieces of statue at the big thing, like a small train at a giant robot that’s lame. Should’ve done his iconic magnet pose and got all the metal he can to throw at him in rage. “THEY SHALL BE….. AVENGED!!!”!idk that’s the weeb in me

@@TitanUranus69 Nah, at the end of season1 in the OG X-Men Cartoon, Sentinels straight up said. "This series of Sentinel have be produced with plastic bodies" when Magnito tried to attack them. Meaning the early models/ Most Sentinel were made of metal, but later models/specialized models were made with plastic.
