I found this platform.. February 2022. In real time have applied.. EVERY SINGLE thing I have learned. From friction point on the clutch, trail breaking, where I place myself in traffic ECT. This in itself has allowed me to connect the dots much easier..I have nobody to ride with. Though I enjoy riding so much more...the ABSOLUTE best THERAPY!! 🤓 Also being a 5'6" Asian American..CBR600 is perfect for me. I can only speak for myself, though I believe hands down there isn't a better platform to learn from.
Have some careful fun brother 🤟
I found this channel in mid-2020, during the COVID lockdown. I also applied every lesson. Counter-steering and trail braking changed everything. I didn't realize how terrible a rider I was before this channel. My riding game has multiplied and I'm still learning.
if you're gonna learn on a sport bike, it should be a Honda cbr rr! it's a lot more forgiving than most of the other ones and less aggressive seating position, but still has the full on race potential. i love mine and it's a 2005...i just love it!!!
@@ElearningDigest I couldn't agree with you more. Being a conscious rider, absolutely changes the whole experience. Ive met guys that rush for example to learn and wheelie...end up flipping there bike's..instead of approaching everything in a timely manner..with proper coaching and instruction.
My cbr 929 & 954 were great, I bet this could compete with those.
I will shed a tear when the analog display gets nixxed. And I'm an R6 boy but them Hondas are gems.
But over price d for sure sadly
Honda CBR600R !! What a bike. Every time I turn on the engine, a big smile comes to my face. I had a 2008 (the one on the icon picture - Tail of the Dragon) and now a 2018. Fast, stable, confident inspiring and comfortable. If you are considering a middleweight super sport, that's the bike to go !!!!!
I love the look of the exhaust under the seat. Only the Hypermotard from Ducati comes to my mind that also has it
Ducati Panigale has two under seat exhausts now too
The Aprilia Shiver has undertail exhaust, but I think the Shiver has been axed. It's a nice bike, but I'd still choose the CBR600 over it.
'07 and older fireblades also had them
It's remarkable how the CBR600RR has matured with minimal changes over the years. It's a shame this bike is not available in rest of the world apart from US and Japan. I had a 1st gen CBR600RR PC37 after owning a Ducati Monster 796 (because I quit job and went to study again) and it really made me a more mature rider. No aids, only rider inputs and surprisingly this one is the same 25 years later! The dash looks very similar, so do some of the body panels too. The front of the seat appears a bit narrower, better for short people like me.
Definitely a great, iconic bike!
There is definitely something special about a bike with no tech and no modes. Just a pure riding experience
My first bike is the one I have 08 CBR 600RR, I love it. I did my MSF back in July 22 and licensed Aug 22. I sat on a lot of bikes in different dealerships and the CBR just felt more comfortable. I was looking for reliability, comfort, and (eventually) great track bike that won't break as much.
Love your channel and shorts/reels btw!
My first bike back in 2007 was a CBR 600RR amazing motorcycle I loved it, learned to ride on that was excellent especially since it had no technology crap. You definitely feel a part of the bike and the connection feels direct as an extension of your body. I need to get this one now just for nostalgia purposes.
its my first bike too cbr 600RR 07 ^^ *-* my first seasion this year (27 years old ) ^^ :) grettings from germany
Just bought one a couple a months ago 2023 no Abs absolutely love the bike! Highly recommend it! I love the bare bones no tech!
I've owned 3 600rr models. 2005, 2007 and 2014. I've had other middleweight bikes (had a Daytona 675R, and an R6). I am aware there are other more powerful middleweight options, but I have always found my way back to the "outdated and underpowered" Honda.
My and my buddy just bought 2007 600RRs and they are such great bikes
@@gettwitchdroned1818 Yeah... that was my favorite year. I used it as a street bike for a couple of years, then converted it to a track bike. Sadly, it was stolen out of my garage and couldn't find another 07/08 model, so I bought the 2014. I think the only thing I like more about the 2013+ version is the front suspension.
In your opinion is an 07 worth upgrading to over the 05? I know there was a major redesign but is it that much better?
@@Itsnotjustahobby honestly, if you can find an 07 or an 08 in good shape, it really is worth it. I found myself improving lap times a little bit at the track (I think this is more due to chassis improvement and the small weight advantage of 07). I also find it to be a more comfortable bike on the street. I think the bar height was raised a few millimeters.
@@AntiPlatitude What was better about the 2014 suspension? I have a 2009 and I don't think I'll ever sell it, but am curious what changes they've made since
Never thought you'd ride & review my bike, Greg!! Glad you approve of the 600RR
Love mine. It’s a 2022, otherwise exact same. Honda really can make a complete package bike, even in a 600CC supersport that can rip on the track and be daily driven. CBR600RRs are perfection !
Same bro!! Lezz goooo
Just bought this bike a month ago and it's everything i wanted. great top end, great acceleration, and man does that exhaust look amazing!!! I went to a dealership and asked for something other than a kawasaki and luckily they had this beauty sitting in the crate still. Had a used 2016 ktm rc 390, so i learned on a bike that had very little in terms of electronics. Definitely the way to go if you wanna learn how to ride. The ride is so smooth and even my friends who I've let ride it comment on how smooth it handles. The weight is so surprising given the size of the bike, so when you get on it and flick it around, it's almost unbelievable. Only downside I've found is that there is no gear indicator. which isn't a huge deal once you get comfortable on it, which i now know isn't too uncommon for race-style bikes to lack. Definitely gonna mount a gear indicator here soon just for convenience. Long story short: amazing machine! Okay my essay is over.
@anjr6282 I will say while the speed is good, if you're looking for something that will roar off the jump, this bike doesn't specialize in that. You have to get high in the rpms to hit that PowerBand. So those first shift pulls from a stop or low speeds will take a second to really grab the power. But once you hit those high rpms and start shifting through gears, it's a great ride. Definitely not a torque monster by any means, but it will go quick once you get going.
How much did you get it for? I see it go for 12k
@@kevhaha2005 Paid 12k
No gear indicator!? Pray to never clumsily hit neutral on a low speed turn 😅
I just got my first bike and it’s a cbr 1000 as well!! It’s an 06. Most likely rode very hard previously but damn she rides. I love my bike.
I'm on my 4th 600rr. All between 2007 and 2012 models. Current is an 09.
Tried the 1000 a couple of times (2012s) and while they were nice, the 600 just hits that spot for me.
Best looking bikes out of everything imo.
Thank you for making this video. I loved every minute of it.
I am glad you are backing your statements about modern sport bikes. Need to get on an Aprilia
Didn’t realise you could shift it without the clutch when you don’t have a quick shifter.. this has happened to me a accidentally a few times before and puzzled me so thanks for highlighting can’t wait to give it a go!
You can shift pretty much any manual transmission without a clutch......my mx bikes, semi tractor trailer, manual tranny cars/trucks I had as a kid......all shifted without clutch if you get rpms right
Greetings from New Zealand. Got an '09 in Castrol Livery colour scheme ( Aaron Slight an awesome N.Z rider from World Superbike days) awesome track bikes and daily ride capable no bother
zero tech but you can learn so much without that stuff, makes sense on the new 200+hp sports bikes we can buy nowadays. Super reliable and inspires great confidence on road or trackdays
Thank you for your channel learnt heaps from your tips and tricks and please keep up the good work for educating fellow motorcyclists around the World!!! Ride safe : )
I just bought a cbr600rr. Had one mile on it. Coming from a cb500f. It's definitely a whole different bike and a way better experience.
05 RR here, raw and fun as hell, won’t ever sell it
Your the only motorcycle channel that calls out bad brakes. It’s unbelievable how important brakes are and nobody else mentions it. Yamaha must hate you lol
The CBR 600RR has almost always been a seemingly good platform. Reliable, easy to work on, fun, comfortable, and list goes on. Great video. Really been enjoying them! Now how about thE Aprilia RS660?! 😁
CBR600s have been amazing ever since the Hurricane (F1). Wonderful, balanced and responsive, reliable machines.
I'm a fan of the analog tachometer. Love it.
that's why i bought mine. I hate all this new technology. keep it simple..ride the bike
i upgraded to this bike after my beginner bike, which was an R3 and i thought the same thing as you did after i rode it for like a mile. "i wanna buy it" lol i was solid immediately.
I modded the heck out of my '05 to make it the perferct track weapon: Ohlins fork internals, Penske 2-way shock, Marchesini mag wheels, Accosato 19x18, brembo hp rotors, vesrah SRJL pads, supercosa sp v2 tires, Akrapovic evo (ti) full system exhaust, Gilles VCR rearsets, -1/+2 sprocket, Attack billet triple, PC3 tuned to 115 whp, etc... it's a ton of fun at the track 🙂
its my first bike A Cbr 600RR 07 ^^ - my first seasion this year (27 years old ) ^^ :) grettings from germany
Got a 21 cbr. Amazing machine!
Honda Brakes are always on point, Yamaha has had major brake issues out of the box since 2009. I can't tell you all the R1's and MT-10's I work on, just to get the brakes up to par with a stock Honda. Also the best kept secrets in street/track do it all pads, are the HRC OEM honda stuff.
07 RR here and it still rocks!🤙
Btw: just to mention bike tech the electronic damper saved me twice powering on a bad road 😁✌️ but everything else is human controls 😁
My first bike was the 03 Honda cbr600rr man love that bike
I'm gonna get this as my first bike. Looks fun. The steering dampening sounds great.
Good luck
Your so awesome I love your informative vids...I think I will buy this one and ask for chris at Del Amo motorsports and I told him you sent me...yeah...
It looks like Honda still makes traditional bikes. That's way cool and I love it, now I wonder what the naked version is like. Good review great bike. ,
love the sound ....😍
Pls do a R7!!! Love your vídeos dude! GJ KEEP GOING!
The brakes are fantastic on this bike. Also the electronic steering damper is my favorite. Very stable
The 2024 models also have optional ABS brakes. Not sure when that was added.
one of my favorits
I have a 2021 and i love it.
I like the speed upshift & i blip the throttle myself for down... it developes skill. Btw I'm 5'8", 31.5 inseam, fits perfect.
Bought a 07 brand new back in 07.. Still own it today, has not broke one single thing in 28,000+ milies.. I am 42 now and it only gets ripped around a couple times a year prob less than 100-150mi a year.. But I love having it, only paid $9600 for it new, so there is no reason to ever sell it.. Every time I get it out and ride it, makes me feel like i'm 25yrs old again.. It was the last of the great no nannies bikes.. and dead nuts reliable.. Didn't even know they still made the 600RR, it looks like it hasn't changed a bit since 2007.. lol Same dash and fairings..
I have an 07 cbr it's a really fun bike!!
Thanks!
Looking forward to seeing you review the GSXR 600 to compare against these
I like the just get on and ride factor😊
Great video; thanks! Terrific AV quality. What's your helmet cam & mic setup?
Just a shame it's $1400 more than a base zx-6r with a lot less tech put into it. Like you said, you don't NEED it, but charging over 10% more for a bike with really 0 features really kills it for me :/ not to mention it's down like 10hp+ from a zx-6r
Its always interesting coming from a British perspective to hear about the ownership journeys from other countries. In the UK, you have to learn and pass your test on a 125cc bike. You are then limited to 33bhp for 2yrs unless you are over 21 in which case you can do another test on a 500cc+ model. Beyond this, your purchasing choice will be heavily limited by the mandatory insurance cost - anything north of a 600 sportsbike will be ruinously expensive. Hearing that someone's first ride was a Fireblade raises an eyebrow or 2.
Back in the day, when I graduated from my SR125, I looked at a Bandit 600. Cost to buy was £3995. 3rd party + fire + theft insurance was £4k, so in practical terms if my bike were stolen, I'd owe the ins company a fiver. The GPX250R I bought cost around £2.5k with a £700 bill for the same level of ins.
Yeah, England is totally cucked. Imagine living in a place where you let "government" tell you how to live your life, because you're a child and don't know how to ride safely. You're also too white, so how about a heaping helping of brown refuse from other countries, courtesy of your friends in the state of israel.
In USA my first bike I ever bought was a
Honda Gold Wing. LoL
bro glad i found you you are a g
True it can be done on any bike. But with a quick shifter it really is so much better. You don’t have to go off the throttle at all it’s definitely smother and faster to use a legit quick shifter.
Agree with your comments. Although I'm biased (have the RR 07) I have had all the brakes serviced and with new rotors and pads and they are fantastic! I like the how it has no tech on it, simple and honest. I bought it because it is a super sport but not crazy powerful. Lightweight and maneuverable. Your test bike looks so similar to mine, it is difficult to see what changes have been made over the years. As a 16 year old bike I found it ridiculously good value, for a bike which has 3 way adjustable front and rear suspension. I'm not fussed about fancy TFT screens and like the 'old school' analogue clocks. Great bikes! Love your content, keep up the great work..
Yes but for real life use they need fuel gauge, some quick shifter up or down etc. And great indicator sunny hurt but not needed
@@s7edgekat610 They have fuel gauges. And optional ABS on the 2024 model.
Iknow Honda is typically "team red" but I'd love it in all blue/white. Love that blue!
Check the 2013 one
Bought my two bikes at that same dealer on main street in chula vista! I work across the street at honda :D
2:07 did you just say your first bike was a 1000 bro your crazyyy😂
Tenho uma cbr 600rr 2008 e a paixão da minha vida está velhinha gostaria muito que viesse para o Brasil aqui parou na 2013...eu ia trabalhar muito para tentar comprar uma sonho... parabéns pelo canal 🇧🇷
Great bike 🤩
would be great if you can review ducati v4 next!
I Love my 2023 cbr600rr ABS model. It’s my first motorcycle ❤
Did you take a motorcycle safety course before starting on your cbr?
@@darrenwilliams3398 no but I will take one this June and getting my license.
Beautiful bike 🏍
@Motojitsu Do you time the traffic lights, if so you are awesomw 😂👍💯🔥
I would be more interested if Honda would bring the updated international 600RR to the US Market. It has been out for two years now...
People like you are the reason when I buy a new bike I don't want anyone else riding it.
This would be a great bike:
- IF it was the newest updated version (that they only sell in Japan)
- IF that updated version had a Fuel Guage in its fancy "updated" high-tech TFT screen (how on earth could they leave that out ??)
The version we get is the same old one that's been around for years - with a slightly different color scheme.
It has outdated (non-LED) lights, no ABS, NO GEAR Indicator, no traction control, no slipper clutch, no quickshifter.
I love the CBR, but Honda is screwing the North American market by simply putting new paint on the same old outdated bike, and calling it a 2023 model.
I hear that, I really want a 2007-08
The 600s are a very small part of their sales. Especially in North America. They wouldn’t invest all of that into a bike just for it to not sell, that’s exactly why Yamaha axed the r6
This bike looks like it was made 15 years ago too. I really doubt it's a 2023 model, it may be a Honda but I'd pick the modern ZX 6R over this relic. No ABS, no tech and more expensive than a modern ZX6R? 🤷♂️
LED Lights are dogshit because the human eye responds best to light that is "soft white" or in the halogen range of color temperature. LED light flickers and messes with your night vision. It's literally the worst kind if lighting for anyone, yet everyone thinks it is somehow better. All the other stuff is available on other bikes. It's nice to have one that comes bare-bones.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Hi. Can you review some of the smaller cc sport bikes like the R3, Ninja 400, ZX-4R?
Hi... from India I subscribes your channel because I love cbr 600rr so much it's my dream bike..!!? ❤❤❤
I own one of these (2021), along with a 2022 gsxr600. The same folks who dog the CBR for being underpowered are usually guys who haven't spent any time on the saddle, I suspect. It rides inasenly smooth. And it's fast too.
And the engine in stock form sounds amazing. Hate adding a slip-on. Don't want to drown out the engine!
i love this bike
I have been thinking about purchasing a CBR600RR, but adding a quick shifter. Good or bad idea as a fairly new rider?
bUt It's nOt A fIrEbLAdE...
Entertaining and informative video nonetheless! Thanks for making these!
Hope to see a streetfighter V4S sometime. I'd like to hear your thoughts on it.
What’s surprising is that it has a dynamic steering stabilizer but nothing else 😅
You're thinking of the Toce Exhaust. Sounds really good on these and on the Yamaha's too!
Toce are nice but they drown out the amazing engine noises.
I wish it had at least ABS... that's a big lifesavers regardless of how much skill you believe you have
I think abs is an add-on option starting from 2009
You can get one with abs. Mine is
The 2024 model definitely has optional ABS.
Good video
The R1 has a fuel gauge. You can change what is displayed on the screen
Ive always wanted a CBR. Just always liked the looks. 600 or 1000. Doesn't matter, preferably there 1000 lol. Seems I always end up going with yamaha which isn't a bad thing tho
Did the motojitsu drills change or something? I remember there was 16ft (2 parking spot) u-turn drill. Had a hell of a time doing that on a gsxr750
Great videos. Too bad they don't sell 600rr in India, only 650r is sold. Is it possible to have 600rr under belly exhaust on a 650r???
How much are gear indicators for the 600rr?
100% 0 ABS when I started riding in 1985 and even worse had bikes with drum brakes you learned real fast to use engine braking with the crap brakes that were available at the time. Now I appreciate ABS for what it is especially for the front wheel in wet conditions I see so many avoidable crashes if only people would practice and not get ham fisted with that front brake. New riders definitely need to learn the mechanics before relying on the bike.
Can you do a review of the R7?
The best one ever built was the 2008 model, more POWER.
I love this video... cbr600rr I'm coming for ya
Are you going to be reviewing any of the 23 MT range?
Does underseat exhaust make the seat any warmer for you or the passenger?
You gotta review a Yamaha Niken or a Boss Hoss one day
How long had you been riding before you got your CBR1000 as your first bike? Had you ridden a 1000 previously?
I understand abs. I would rather have it then not have it just for that security feeling. BUT, I think it’s crazy some people have abs and didn’t even know just how many times it has saved there asses.
I'm about to purchase this bike
lol goldmember reference i like gold
I would like to see you ride the Honda CB650R
my fav part of this vid is the.... "Gravellll"😂
It is interesting to know if ABS, at some point, is limiting or reducing the braking performance.
Maybe you should put that to the test.
Compare braking distance with and without ABS, especially on wet surface.
Apparently for offroad riding, not having abs is better for stopping distance as the small dig the locked tire creates helps stopping.
He did a video on this just recently. Search "ABS Or No ABS? What's A Shorter Stop?"
@@File001 Thanks! I'll check it
Yes, because ABS kicks on whenever the wheel locks up, and it works by rapidly pulsing the brakes...whereas if you are doing it manually without ABS, you modulate the brake pressure by feeling it in your hand, and easing off slightly if you feel the wheel locking up.
I just wish they would update the display, it is nearly the same as my 07
The gauge, from what I can tell here in the video, looks exactly like my 07 600rr
I wish it came with better fairings and color options
I can't up shift with my bad ankle but I have an idea for an adapter that is real simple to use.
Depending on your bike, you could go reverse shifting like on the track bikes, just flip the shift arm 180 degrees so your upshifts go downwards and downshifts go upwards. works on the r6 and rr, probably more bikes also. Just a friendly tip for you and whoever is reading the comments.
So whats the difference between the R and the RR?
Can power upshifting without the clutch damage the bike in any way?
I also like being in control myself, so I wouldn’t care what technology it has.
