Angela Winbush is an American R&B/soul singer-songwriter, musician and record producer who rose to fame first in the 1980s R&B duo René & Angela, also scoring hits as a solo artist. To date, Winbush has sold over 10 million albums and singles worldwide

She met singer Rene Moore in Los Angeles and formed the duo René & Angela in 1977. They released three albums and had two top 20 R&B hit singles, “I Love You More” and “My First Love”. She launched her solo career in 1987 with the album Sharp, which featured the hit singles “Angel” and “Run To Me”. She also survived ovarian cancer in 2003 and continued to perform and record music.
