As a 6 year-old in 1959 my family and I rode on the first TWA 707 flight into St Louis. Being so young I don't remember much of the flight except how very loud it was.
I saw a couple of 720s, too. Thank you for including those! Also interesting to see were a few 707s powered by Rolls Royce power plants. They are the ones with air compressors atop all four engines, IINM.

Back then American Airlines was not a "national" carrier, only Pan Am and TWA flew overseas from the continental USA!
It was a NATIONAL airline in the sense that it was a MAJOR US AIRLINE . Pan Am and TWA were INTERNATIONAL airlines.
