- During the First World War, Talbot House was a refuge behind the lines, an 'Everyman's Club' where soldiers could leave their rank at the door and find a few hours of respite away from the trenches and guns. Today the house is preserved as a memorial to the men who fought and died in the Ypres Salient. Join historians Mat McLachlan and Simon Louagie as they explore this living connection to the Great War, on a walk through Talbot House.

What a fantastic video. The best video of Talbot House I have seen really captures the essence of Talbot House, a truly unique place and one I have had the privilege of visiting numerous times whilst visiting the battlefields, a true home from home.
Thank you very much!
What a wonderful video. I always try to explain the magic of Talbot House and now I can share this, because you fully capture it. Perfection.
Thank you!
Excellent piece Matt! Really captures the spirit of Talbot House and an excellent way to help explain the concept to those who have not visited. Great to meet you at the Chapel Royal in St James's Palace last week! Cheers!
