I think what's getting to me so bad is that NL understood that health was more important than attack all the way back in like... October. But then someone told him that maybe that didn't mean the Bluebird was *completely* garbage just because that's the case, and now we're in full brain poison mode where he's sandbagging rounds 1-5 to make his best unit an 18-9 so he can put meat bone on it or whatever.
He's also using the blue bird inefficiently. He doesn't need a 12-4 fish at round 3. No unit has 12 health, he would do better off wide rotating in the early rounds and wide scaling with the blue bird atleast to round 5 or 6.

No what he's saying is he's not gonna get two lvl 2s to combine them into a lvl 3. He's been avoiding this consitently for the past few runs and I still can't understand why. :D

He meant making 2 level 2s then combining to get a level 3, so 3 level ups I guess. Just better than combining to one level 3 because you get another tier 3 in the shop

For the efficiency lords in the comments, the ideal play on that beetle level 3 is to level the other to level 2 then combine to level 3 for an extra tier 3 pet in the shop
NL knows this strategy. Not sure why he didn't go for it. But we all miss things like that sometimes

For even better efficiency, you use the 2-4 as first combine with one of the 2-3s for an extra health point.

@@ScorpionXXXVII unless you get upgrades, per food you buy only give it +5 temporary attack. How would that be op, it's already what the cat does just less frequently and the tabby cats not winning the majority of games rn.

i need some explaination of why he choose to take the red beetle instead of green beetle on turn 1 game 1, when he cant feed it food or having any effects at all. it's literally a worse unit and that's gonna keep me up all night.

I would have gone 1 green 1 red with a honeybee in the back on the green. It would draw instead of win in this case but a 2/3 with honey and a 2/4 round 1 is very capable of getting the round 1 W against some teams. The main point of this however is to get +1 health on the units you'll be buying next turn which can be huge on round 2.
I really love round 1 food purchases on P2W, my favorite is 2 ladybugs with a honeybee.
I dream of a day NL starts to move his ant around(preferably second to last position with his highest health unit in the back). Relying on pure ant RNG is so bad

NL is a god player but he has more to learn still. The green beetles at the start could be combined to make 2 level 2s, then put them together for a level 3 - you get an extra shop pet from it!

Just a little bit of optimization when you leveled up the green beetle you could have generated another unit by making 2 level 2 and then combining them
But you miss out on +1+1 from combining

When I get the turn 7 eagle I always pill it. There’s 3 or 4 tier 6 units you can get that will basically guarantee 10 wins if you get them on 7

Funny things to add to SAP: chick level 3, once faints spawn an egg that summons a random animal. Bee level 3, start of round, deal 5 damage to all enemies. Zombie cricket, once level 3 become a stick bug and cause a random enemy to attack another enemy on their team with half their damage.
