Thanks to the person who recently requested this video! If I don't answer anything you wanted to know in this video, please tell me and I can discuss further in another video!
By the way, I still take medication, the same medication I've been on since 1994. It's an antipsychotic. It's the only medication I take.

Hello Matthew, thank you from The Netherlands, Europe! I have the same experience in music as you do & dancing too. I danced a lot in my life, one thing I got out of the clearings of the darkness and negativity I am still hearing, feeling is that I feel I am one with the music. I am 12 years fighting 24/7 to get it out of me. What is interesting for me is that everyone seems to believe the illness comes from drinking, smoking etc… I have drinking alcohol for a long time but have not since the illness started. As you have not been drinking alcohol it is impossible that is the cause. Why would it be for one person and not another. That is important information for me. I do still smoke sigarettes but feel more and more wanting them to go too now. I eat biological foods most days but I also have the days I am in so much pain I cannot cook. I need to watch more of your videos’s on when and how your illness started but what I seem to see a lot in common in people with voices (I have those, and they are loud!) and hallucinations is spirituality or religious beliefs. I am out of work for 12 years but Iearned gardening, drawing, painting my house, painting my furniture. It takes a long time but I do it, sometimes I do not even understand how I was able to paint…. I am so happy for you you recovered! I have been and seen many places, including Canada and USA, never any fears or exhaustion, voices or seeing energies or spirits fly, or panic attacks for 42 years. This illness is the opposite of what life can be really like. I hope you still get to do all you want to do. Thank you for sharing your experiences, it means a lot to me. Regards from Dorine. ( I recently found Lauren too, I have so much respect for her!)

Loving the video so far!! I always forget about the concept of “post traumatic growth,” thank you :)
Also, the vase analogy reminds me of this Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics/pottery/etc - using gold (the metal, + lacquer). Kintsugi is what it’s called, and it’s really beautiful! The idea is that, instead of seamlessly hiding the fractures, it celebrates the broken veins, and the fact that the piece is whole again 💜

There is also a youtuber who is blogging her keto journey, so far with promising results better than medications, "living well on schizophrenia" I think is the name of the channel.

I just wanted to share with you what has really helped me with schizophrenia. I recommend oregano oil capsules with a minimum 125mg of carvacrol (I have 2-3 times a day, do not take more than 600mg). Also I eat olives in brine (6 each time twice a day). Also I take one fish oil capsule (twice a day at 1000mg) or cod liver oil capsule, in case your wondering both are omega 3 fish oil but cod liver oil has vitamin A. All these things are anti inflammatory which should help a lot with schizophrenia and are healthy. I occasionally take a natural (Naturelo) multivitamin and mineral capsule. I'm not sure if 20mg olanzapine is the best anti psychotic medication but it's what I take. I might try quetiapine and if it does not work out default back to olanzapine.
I feel like I am in remission.

Well, if we could actually cocktail all those neurochemicals into one street drug, I imagine it would be like a rollercoaster ride through the depths of hell and the pearly gates of heaven at the same time. You'd be so high that you'd think you were a unicorn flying through a rainbow, but then you'd crash so hard that you'd feel like a snail stuck in molasses.
But thank goodness we don't have to resort to that kind of experimentation because our brains are already equipped with the perfect cocktail mixer. It's like having your own personal bartender in your head, constantly serving up delicious shots of dopamine, norepinephrine, anandamide, endorphins, and serotonin.
And when we're in flow, it's like we're at the best bar in town, sipping on the most exquisite blend of pleasure drugs that our brains can produce. It's like winning the jackpot in the neurochemical lottery, and we're all in it to win it.
So, let's raise a glass to flow, the most addictive experience on Earth. And who needs drugs when you've got a brain that can mix 'em better than any street dealer? Cheers!
