this was important. most of Yachty’s audience probably only recognizes Umar through meme culture. this was a great opportunity to learn his real message
Big facts.as he said the memes have made him big but they trivialised a very serious message. Nice to see people learning who he really is
He’s a walking meme. All con men reel you in with words.

I ain’t gone lie the memes were funny but the message Umar delivered was definitely heard. Great interview
It’s wild that people really ponder if Dominicans are black, Haiti is literally just miles away on the same island. But we’re still in psychological bondage, we gotta break the Invisible Leash
They know they have African blood but can’t bare to say the words out loud. They don’t want anything to do with the culture. Can’t blame them with the horrible image A “Black Man” has.
Yup its ridiculous
Algerian people live in Africa, it doesnt make them black
Haiti is on the same island but has a completely different history
Because dominicans come in all different races and most are a mixed race

lol yet if it was the other way around he wouldn’t care. If blacks were in the position of power they wouldn’t give a shit about any other race beneath them. They already hate every other race while they at the bottom. Plus you cannot claim land to be owned, plus African kings sold Africans into slavery for gold so take that up with your own people. Plus blacks have taken white slaves in history and every race has been enslaved. Yall just coping and need an excuse for failing, while not all blacks are like this, but that man Umar is a racist and definitely a liberal.

As an African American male I experienced the repercussions of academic achievement firsthand… I was reading at a 12th grade level in 4th grade and often completed reading assignments days ahead of deadlines. But as I got older I couldn’t even focus on school work due to bullying from peers, lack of guidance and mentors into my teenage years, and ultimately gave up on my education a couple of years into highschool.

@@122jonteThe one aspect you’re forgetting is that the very concept of race and racism thereafter were created in Europe.
To pretend as if this concept was created in within the confines of Europe and then simply disappeared is ignorant and illogical.
This ideology expanded out and became the foundation of the society that we simply see as natural.
There is absolutely racial tension in all the places you claimed there isn’t much of. How can a concept be outdated if we still keep having to talk about it?
@@getinloser666 specifically western Europe, though. You live in the western world thats why your entire worldview is shaped by the invention of race. It would be way healthier to embrace the scientific reality that race is a stupid concept and fundamentally not real. Most of us humans living on planet earth are not from the western world, and do not hold your world view. Which is why it comes of silly when you try to view the entire world through your western eyes
@@122jonteYou're wrong, it's not outdated whatsoever. WE as melanated people are just now trying to do what other races have been doing for hundreds of years. GROUP economics, strong BLACK family, and RACE first.
@@122jonte I just told you what the core of the issue is. You’re dancing around an answer already revealed.
Race was created to unify Whites and reinforce White nationalism. Doing this essentially creates a hive mind that becomes an unstoppable force of globalization and regional domination. The evidence is a history book and beyond.
You can’t seriously suggest that you must analyze the source of what created these systems; while simultaneously claiming you “can’t play by Western standards”.
Understanding and thinking like your opressor is HOW you come to a conclusion of your position. Those two paths function hand in hand.
YUP KCMO in the buildinggg ❤️💛
Lived in Hong Kong for 8 years. Everything he said about racism in China and Japan is spot on.
Damn I was almost sold. I once saw a video about a Japanese guy interviewing black residents there and they never once complained about racism.
Asian culture isn't confrontational. So the racism isn't in your face. However, racism is very prevalent here. That person might be living in a bubble. Because an individual hasn't experienced or perceived to have experienced racism doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I'm privileged to be working in education so people tend to be more civil in my industry. However, I have African friends who experience racism in Asia on a daily.@@yoshimutsu

Now as a psychologist I am definitely noticing the body language between Yachty and his co host, trying to make a little light of this incredibly beautiful conversation, always looking over at one another for approval to like or dislike certain topics.. not sure what the agenda is about that but I can definitely tell my brothers are still dealing with some unhealed trauma and find it a little difficult to absorb and appreciate this level of knowledge openly without push back. Prayers to my brothers 🙏🏾🖤
I noticed that too. It was very frustrating watching Dr. Umar Johnson drop some serious gems, and for his words to go in one ear and out the other by the hosts. Especially the conversation on the N word... I enjoy his cadence and his humor as much as the next person, but I'm afraid some people are only in it for the memes and not the actual substance of his messages...
The co host couldn't hide his agitation / annoyance. The eye rolling and the smug looks on certain topics were so telling he wasn't open to considering umars point of view. I was looking for this comment. It was so obvious

Big step proud of you sis ❤444
You have bone straight hair, not your real texture so what's your point? I don't police Black womens hair but I'm confused. You stopped wearing weave but still straightened your hair. What are they teaching you?😂
@@ayanna439 ignorance at it's finest. It's so unfortunate you look at a picture but have no critical thinking process. Did it not occur to you that the picture you're looking at is old? Apparently not. Furthermore, what Black women do with our hair as a way to express our personality and ensemble is our prerogative. I can still wear sister locks, goddess braids, justice braids, cornrows, sleek ponytail, and silk press if I choose. These looks are either ethnic or short-term although some styles are using hair extensions. Wearing a weave is different because it's psychological. It certainly promotes an eurocentric beauty standard. A Black woman going to a hair boutique to buy hundreds of dollars of bundles, to get that hair sewn-in for months, meticulously styling that dead hair while usually neglecting her own hair can be attributed to self-hate particularly when she's repeating this process without breaks. I definitely think the wigs are worse because she's damaging the front and nape of her hair with glue. If I go to the hair salon every now and then for a blow out or silk press that lasts roughly 2-3 days before my texture returns, I wouldn't accuse myself or other Black women for wanting to emulate White women.

Dr. Umar provides alternative explanations that are essential to understanding the so-called complexities that clog our thinking and understanding about who we are. He eloquently explodes the myths that sabotage our collective progress as a people. His contribution to the group template for our measurable liberation has made his voice and reasoning necessary for the self-study and rewards. Whether you accept everything that he says as gospel, he generates the kind of knowledge and perspective for our vital discussion. He is brave and intellectually refreshing and creates important paradymes. Our reawakening from the socially engineered and incompacitating coma, requires his psychological views. Three cheers for this brother and the demonstrated love for us, throughout the diaspora.
