Everything mentioned is right on. Deer will not eat these plants. I would also add yarrow, which comes in a wide variety of colors and sizes. Drought tolerant.

Oh yes yarrow, I absolutely it. I'm going to try to get the peach yarrow or it may be more pink. Also they have the yellowish one. I have the dirty white that grows wild in my field and deer never bother it. I'm going to dig me some of that up also. I'll keep it contained. Thank you for sharing this with us. ❤😊

You're welcome! It sounds like the deer have really taken a liking to your garden, which can certainly be frustrating. Using deer-resistant plants is a smart strategy to help deter them and protect your beautiful garden spaces. Plants with strong scents, such as lavender, sage, and marigolds, or those with prickly textures, can be less appealing to deer and might help keep them at bay.
Additionally, consider incorporating physical barriers like fencing or using deer repellents as another layer of protection. Combining these methods can often provide the best results in keeping your garden flourishing without becoming a feast for the local wildlife.
If you need more suggestions or help with specific plants or strategies to deter deer, feel free to ask. Here's to a thriving, deer-resistant garden! 🌿🦌

@@PlantDoHomeGardendeers in my area become resistant to repellents, even the strongest ones! Lavender, sage and fencing also doesn’t seem to make much difference. I planted rose next to lavender and russian sage, they still manage the destruction of my rose! They will eat double take scarlet even though it supposed to be deer resistant. They even ate blooming azalia’s ! Gosh, I truly am furious!

I’ve found Brunnera and Ligularia also to be truly deer resistant. I replaced most of my hosta with Brunnera and the Ligularia works well in a moist location.

That's a great tip! Brunnera and Ligularia are excellent choices for gardens where deer are a concern. It's fantastic to hear that they've worked well for you as deer-resistant alternatives to hostas. Brunnera is known for its beautiful foliage and delicate blue flowers, making it an attractive shade option, while Ligularia thrives in moist areas with its striking leaves and yellow flower spikes. Your experience provides valuable insight for other gardeners looking to maintain beautiful gardens in deer-prone areas. Thanks for sharing! 🌿🦌

Using Cayenne pepper is cruel, it can cause blindness. Adapt to plants they don’t like and keep your spices in the kitchen.

Our deer ate my shade loving Coral Bells to the nub. I planted 9 (3 different colors each) at 25 dollars a piece. Decimated!!! 😢.

Deer will not ingest cayenne pepper due to their high sense of smell thank God for that

    • @Anonymously4051

Cayenne pepper can blind creatures and harm insects too. Keep spices in the kitchen, read more and learn. People can be so ignorant and harmful to nature due to their ignorance
