- We have always loved Round 1's Fun Zone claw machines! Fun to play, good chance to win, and really great new prizes! We loved these claw machines so much that we committed a whole series just to Fun Zones. However, Round 1 has recently made some changes to their Fun Zone claw machines that has made them more expensive and harder to win prizes. We will never quit playing Fun Zone claw machines but due to these changes, this will probably be our last Fun Zone series claw machine video. So please enjoy this delightful Round 1 claw machine video as we try and win some awesome new prizes such as Rilakkuma, Spy Family, and many more!

I agree fun zones have been harder, although I've never had much luck with them either. Plus the cost of credit to play, might as well play Gemini bigs or the skilled claws. Thanks for posting, really enjoy watching your guys videos!

Omgs I feel you guys on that! The fun zones have been weak with the grabs and like the last one, doesn't even close! There's only a few fun zone machines at my local Round 1 that I only play once or twice if it's a prize I'm really wanting to get! Other than that I've been skipping! Great wins on the ones you guys did get! 🙌👏🎉
Ya, it’s sad. I guess we were spoiled by the years of fair claw play lol. We have been the same, just playing certain fun zones that we really like the prize. Other than that, we skip them. Thank you!!
The fun zone 2's at my round 1 are 11 credits now which is $2.75 a play! They used to be 8 credits which is still alot! So since they raised the price of the credit packages and the credit amount for these I have been sticking to the big claw machines mostly (the one bigger than the Gemini big has been lucky for me a few times) or I play the box drop games cause they're only 3 credits more than the fun zones but are skill based! Round 1 has been letting us down lately! 🤷♂️
If we werent doing videos, we would probably never play Geminis or FZ's unless the prize was amazing! We find it weird that Round 1, which is Japanese based, focuses on claw machines in the USA but are mostly skill UFO catchers in Japan! Wonder why they woudnt stick to mostly skill based variety like their main Japanese locations? I assume they would be equally popular here in the states as well! Oh well, I am trying to use common sense and you know how that works in the business world lol. Thanks!!

There was a spy family plush I just HAD to get in a funzone and boy, I was not prepared for the mental anguish of dropping $30 for it, being the first time I was determined to play until pay out lol. I definitely get your frustration with them! It's a rip off!
I hope you guys get a chance to go to Japan one day and try out the Taito Station arcade! It's a whole building with multiple floors of japanese claw machines everywhere! I'm going in October with my newfound appreciation for claw machine thanks to your channel! 😊

I totally agree with the animals dressed like other animals sentiment. They are so overdone. Especially because they’re always the same 4 animals. I can at least appreciate the unique ones, but I’m bored with the bunny/cat/bear/penguins 🥱

I’ve been getting the feeling that Round1 (ours is in Vancouver) has been going downhill recently. Used to be I could spend $50 and walk away with a figure and a few prizes for the kids, and get to play some games. Went the other weekend and spent $100; tons of fun zones that we plugged about $50 into to get one plushie for the kids, and there were basically no figures and only a couple pushers (0 skill-based games left). The minis are still fun, but nothing that makes me excited to go back. It’s sad; I used to be pumped to return but now I’m wondering if I even want to go again. I realize it’s a business and they need to make money, but at a certain point it just feels like I can’t win and I’m getting scammed. Saw your video and felt a little validated; glad it isn’t just me.
Couldnt have said it better ourselves! We continue to see great prizes we want but then we see that they are in Fun Zones or Geminis and we have to say to ourselves, "do we even want this?" Which is sad. We feel defeated before we have even failed. So we think you hit the nail on the head, we have lost the excitement to try and win most machines. Anyway, here's hoping that thing will improve someday. Thank you!!
I am back from Las Vegas and on the tail end of the illness that must not be named. It is really sad that Round 1 seems to want to make 90%+ of their games payout and not skill. I get shipping has gone up, cost of pay for building and employees but I also feel like those smaller plush are 10 to 15 dollars in a store. Round 1 must get them for pennies since they buy so many. Keep that in mind with the cost of play and how willing the customer is to pay. Plus if they want to make it harder have plush fluffers going around freeing plush so that you can at least grab one and not have to spend a fortune digging one out.
Welcome back! Hope you had some fun! Totally agree on every level. Would love to see better quality of service like in Japan for the claws. Employees available to help, fix machines, and reset prizes, etc... Still have fun though so not complaining too much lol Thanks!!

Thank you!! We couldnt agree more with that sentiment! Fun Zones were are favorite hands down because they were winnable by skill. Sometimes it would still take us 9-10 plays but that was on us and not the machine refusing to win! Sad indeed...
Ahh who could forget those curly mendakos 😅. A time when Fun Zones were actually fun to play and you could win with skill instead of payout. Should have rebranded them as Unfun Zones instead of Fun Zone II's. Glad you got a couple of wins still but definitely not worth a full video spending $100 anymore for a fairly cheap prize.

You need to go on half days. The prices for those plush is not anywhere near what they want. I'm sure they get huge discounts on buying so many that aren't licenced. That way you can get more videos for half the price. Ive never been to a video game place. What we had was 2 pinball machines in the mall. At that time i could play all day on a quarter. I was just a little good at it. Lol I wish you both the best.
That would be awesome!! Unfortunately, Round 1 doesnt do half days, at least not at our locations! Dave and Busters does it right with half price Wednesdays but its 2 hours away on a work day. I miss the quarter a play days. So many hours spent playing for a couple of dollars.....thanks!!
@ArcadeRising1 im sorry. The prices are ridiculous. I understand the have a huge electric bill but the prices keep rising will keep a lot of others away and lose some of the ones they do have.

I totally agree with you though. You’d think, with the current payout rates, that Round 1 is letting people try and win gold bars from their claw machines. This video completely steers me away from any interest I could possibly have in playing them. Even worse it steers people who truly enjoy claw machines from possibly playing them as much as they used to.
I don’t know…. I know they need to make money/profit, but eventually all you have are a bunch of machines that people could be playing but aren’t due to the high prices and super high payout rates.
Well said! I imagine the long term impact on the "casual" arcader is going to be negative. I see "clawcades" becoming popular in large population areas here recently. It would be devastating to R1 if a new wave of popularity in claw machines comes through and they have a sour public opinion. I think there is little thought being put into these pricing decisions. Oh well, we still have fun I guess! lol Thanks!!

Our largest Arcade chain here in Australia has been like this with claw machines for longer than I can remember. The payouts are set so high it is not worth playing for the $2 prize inside.
That sucks. We understand these places have to make money but we would rather they at least have some skill aspect to these games than just random luck. Oh well, I guess it’s the nature of the claw machine beast. Thanks!!

Agreed! We havent played that many plays like with mint bear before this, but you are correct, that is exactly what we expect and why we dont. The frustrating part is why R1 headquarters cant see the impact and lunacy of these decisions at the ground level. This would be no different than if Ford and Chevy released a plaid car with burlap interior. The public would be bewildered! lol thanks as always!!

@@ArcadeRising1 Finally took my family to a Round 1 and man, you were right about the claw machines. They were awful. Most of them had all the prizes stacked in the opposite corner with big gaps everywhere else, and we didn't get a single payout grab in an hour. Won't be back!
